Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Her last gift to her father

Isaac's POV

As soon as I learned that Ingrid left the villa. I knew she would go to her dad's house. I know that James Alberto learned that her daughter is now married to his mortal enemy.

I raise my gun and shoot the doorknob this time. We kicked the door. My eyes dilated when I saw my wife was in danger. We pointed our guns at them. His men also pointed their gun at us. James has shifted on me.

"You finally came here, son of a bitch!" he roars. I look at Ingrid. "Come here!" I roared. I raise my free hand.

She walks forward and grabs my palm. "Come back here and don't make me madder, Ingrid!" James roars. She looks at him.

"I already told you, Father. I am no longer under your control. The only guardian who has the right over me was my husband," she asserts. James pulled the trigger and shot my shoulder. It's just a graze, to be exact.

"Boss!" Luther roars.

I raise my hand. "Don't move until I say so!" I roared. He pulls the trigger again and is ready to shoot me seriously when Ingrid shoots his own dad.

"Agh!" James roars. He was shot in his left leg. It's not a graze either.

"Let's see which bullet is faster, Dad. Yours or mine!" Ingrid roars.

I was surprised by what she did. "Don't you dare touch my husband in front of me!" she warns. James glares at his daughter dangerously.

I can sense that he's ready to kill her. I was about to hide Ingrid in my back, but she didn't budge. How strong can she be?!

"Are you really choosing him?! You really think he will help you? You tried to kill him, Ingrid. He will kill you sooner or later!" James roars. I glared at him.

"Shut up! I'll kill you right here and then!" I roared.

We are ready to shoot each other, but Ingrid stands in front of me. She is using herself as a shield.

"Let us leave peacefully, or else both of us will be buried in a landfill, Father. You know what I'm capable of," Ingrid asserts.

"For what, huh?! I won't let that bastard use the weapon I've trained with and honed for the past 14 years! You'd better die than let me go, Ingrid. I know you will ruin my castle if I let you leave this house alive!" he roars.

The two of them shoot. No one was hurt. Their bullets meet halfway and clash with each other. They both pull their triggers at once. One more move and they will shoot again.

I grab her waist and turn her around. I carried her on my shoulder. "Let's go! This isn't the time yet, James. I will show you how much I hated you. I'll make you pay for killing my wife and child. Let's see which of us can stand until the end," I threatened.

I know they won't kill us. We were already outside when he followed us. Luther opened the car door. I put down Ingrid. She was still pointing her gun at her father.

"Let me kill him myself. Don't stain your hands with your own dad's nasty blood," I mumbled. She looked at me in my eyes. I showed her how serious I am.

"Father, I have a last gift for you. I know you will enjoy it," Ingrid says.

She grabs something in her pocket. It's a bomb trigger! What the fuck! She pinched it. The next thing we heard was a loud explosion at the back of his mansion.

They turned around and saw the debris and dark smoke. "Is that the armory building?!" James roars.

I look at my wife. I can't believe she's serious about raising an all-out war against her dad. "Happy birthday, my father."

She gets inside the car. We all took that chance and got inside the car. We left their territory right away. Luther drives in at full speed, and so does the car behind us. I look at Ingrid.

I can't see any emotions in her eyes. I didn't say any words and kept my mouth shut. I was about to speak when I saw Ingrid closing her eyes.

I'll talk to her as soon as we arrive at the mansion. After an hour and a half, we arrived at the mansion. She was… sleeping?

My men laugh. "Your wife boss sleeps like she didn't do anything scary today," Gio says.

I grab her in my arms and carry her. Luther grabs her things. "Send those things in our room," I stated. They look at me weirdly.

"Your room, boss? Are you sure?" Luther asks. I nod.

"I have to guard her movements. If she sleeps in another room, she speaks with other people. She sneaks out whenever she wants. It's better to be sure. I have to make sure that she's not a spy that James sends to us," I replied.

They all nodded and didn't argue with what I just said. Luther opens my room. I step inside and put her down. This isn't my room that I shared with my deceased wife.

This is the master bedroom on the north side of my mansion. My room that I shared with my late wife was the one on the south side. I look at the two wooden boxes that she was holding while confronting her father.

"Lock the door before you leave," I stated. Luther nodded and walked away. He clicks the lock and closes the door.

I sat on the couch and crossed my legs. "I wonder if you're really serious about helping me. I will make sure that I'll see the truth. You can't fool me, Ingrid Alberto. Not me," I mumble. I stood up and decided to take a shower.

I turned off my phone because of several calls that I've been receiving. As soon as I finished showering, I went out while drying my hair.

I was on my way to my closet when I heard Ingrid moaning and talking. "Mom… no… no!" She moves her head to her left and right sides.

"No! Don't kill my mommy! Noooo!" she screams. I went to her side and took a seat. I tap her cheeks, trying to wake her up.

"Agghhh!" she screams and gets up.

Ingrid was shaking, and the fear in her eyes was visible. I embrace her and try to comfort her. "My mom… my mom!" she roars, crying like there's no tomorrow.

Now that her past was revealed. She was terrified and traumatized. My wife cried in silence. She stayed like that for almost half an hour. I look at her and shed her tears. She's also weak but pushes her luck to be stronger and dangerous.
