Chapter 14 - The Girl Who Holds a Star

The wind whispered through the golden grass.

The sun had not risen yet, but the sky was slowly turning blue.

Lina Starfall walked barefoot on the cold earth, her brown cloak fluttering behind her. Her shoes had worn out two days ago, but she didn't mind.

The glowing pendant around her neck pulsed like a heartbeat, guiding her.

Every time she thought about resting, the light blinked faster—as if telling her: "Keep going. You're almost there."

She didn't know where she was headed, or what she would find. All she knew was this:

Something terrible was coming.

And somehow… she was meant to stop it.

A Glimpse into Lina's Past

Lina had always been different.

She could see things others couldn't—tiny sparkles in the air, whispers in trees, dreams that came true.

Her village elders called her "touched by the sky."

But most just thought she was strange.

Her parents had died when she was little. No one knew how. One night, lightning had struck their house—no storm, no clouds. Just a single blast of light, and they were gone.

The only thing that survived the fire was the glowing pendant—shaped like a broken star.

Since that day, Lina wore it around her neck, close to her heart.

She had no family now. No friends.

But still, she smiled often. She laughed at clouds, danced in rain, and talked to birds.

Because somewhere deep inside her… she felt she wasn't truly alone.

Meanwhile, in the Realm of Eternal Flames

Far away from Lina's path, in a realm of endless red skies and floating lava islands, a powerful battle was taking place.

A group of Divine Guardians stood in a circle, holding shining weapons.

In front of them was a Void Beast—tall as a mountain, with six arms and eyes like holes in space.

It roared, shaking the realm.

The ground cracked.

The sky bled.

But the Guardians did not run.

"It's one of the scouts," said a golden-armored warrior. "The seal is nearly broken. They're slipping through."

"Then we must stop them here," said another, gripping her spear. "If one reaches the mortal world, it will be disaster."

They charged together—light and fire exploding in the air.

High above them, hidden from sight, Zayn watched silently.

His eyes were calm, but serious.

"This is only the beginning," he said softly. "The hunger is testing the boundaries."

He lifted a hand. Instantly, time froze for a moment. The void beast trembled, its body turning to dust in mid-air.

The Guardians blinked in confusion.

A voice echoed from the sky:

"You have fought bravely. But more will come. Prepare your worlds."

And then he vanished.

Back to Lina's Journey

As the sun began to rise, Lina reached a cliff.

Below, an ancient ruin lay hidden in a valley—a circular temple made of white stones, half-buried under earth and vines.

The pendant around her neck burned with warmth.

"This is it," she whispered.

She climbed down carefully, her hands gripping tree roots and loose stones.

Her feet touched the cold floor of the temple. The air felt heavy—like a forgotten song playing in the background.

Symbols lined the ground—stars, moons, strange letters glowing faintly.

At the center stood a stone pillar, cracked but still strong.

Lina walked up to it and placed her hand on the top.

The world changed.

A Vision of Stars

Suddenly, she wasn't in the temple anymore.

She stood in space, floating among stars. Planets spun slowly around her. She could see glowing bridges of light connecting worlds.

And in front of her floated a man.

Tall, dressed in white robes with golden runes.

His hair flowed like silver fire, and his eyes held galaxies.

He looked at her and smiled gently.

"Lina Starfall," he said. "Daughter of destiny. The stars remember you."

Lina's eyes widened.

"W-Who are you?"

"I am Zayn. The Star Sovereign."

"You're… real?"

"As real as your breath. You carry a piece of me—my divine spark. It chose you when your world tried to erase you."

Lina touched her pendant.

"Why me? I'm just… just a girl."

Zayn's voice was soft but powerful.

"Even a small candle can light up the darkest room. You are not just a girl. You are the next key to the seal. Without you, the universe may fall."

"What do I do?" she asked, afraid.

Zayn looked sad.

"You will walk paths of fire. You will lose things. But you will also rise—higher than even I once did."

He raised a hand. A book appeared—glowing, floating between them.

It opened.

On the first page was her name: Lina Starfall.

Then, more words wrote themselves in golden ink:

"The girl who holds a star. The first light of the new era."

"Your journey begins now."

Suddenly, the vision faded.

The Awakening

Lina gasped as she fell back from the pillar.

The pendant around her neck now shone like a miniature sun.

She wasn't just carrying it anymore.

It had become part of her.

She felt stronger. Lighter. Like her blood had turned into stardust.

She looked around.

Everything felt clearer. The temple seemed alive.

She touched a broken stone, and it glowed.

Runes appeared, forming a doorway into the ground.

"I guess I go down," she whispered, gripping her pendant.

She walked through the newly opened path, deeper into the earth.

Elsewhere – Darkness Stirs Again

In the ruins of the Dark Magic Empire, the cult leader smiled.

He could feel it.

The star spark had awakened.

"The girl is rising," he said. "Good. That means the path is opening."

He looked at a black mirror.

In it, Lina's image flickered.

"Find her," he ordered his shadows. "Before she meets her protectors. Kill her if needed. Or bring her to me."

The shadows bowed and vanished.

The war between light and darkness had begun.

And the first battlefield… was Lina's heart.
