The conference room felt like a battlefield disguised as civil territory. I sat across from Leo and Vanessa West, the siblings who now led the Moonstone Pack, watching her every move like a predator studying its prey. Only she wasn't prey. Not anymore.
"The amphitheater on Silverclaw territory would be the ideal venue for the Alpha Ball," I said, keeping my voice neutral despite the storm raging inside me. "It can accommodate twice the number of guests as any other location in the region."
Vanessa tilted her head slightly, a gesture that sent her auburn hair cascading over one shoulder. My fingers twitched with the memory of how that hair felt wrapped around my hand.
"The amphitheater does have impressive capacity," she conceded, "but it's also exposed to the elements. What's your contingency plan for inclement weather?"
I blinked, momentarily thrown by her knowledge of my territory. "We have retractable coverings that can be deployed in minutes."
