Chapter 1 - A Void?

"When I first opened my eyes I saw... nothing. Empty, is the only word that can be used to describe this place, and white I guess. When I first arrived here I was confused, lost, I didn't know where I was or how I got here." I said to a figure that looked female. "But this will be a long story so let's not dwell on the details."

I opened my eyes slowly after being awoken by the bright light around me, but what I saw wasnt a bedroom but... white. I stood up, confused and looked around but didn't see anything. It was a void, no buildings, no nature, no life, only bright white void in every direction.

I looked through my pockets for anything at all, but I had nothing other than my clothes. I didn't have much of a choice so I just started walking in a direction, but nothing changed, nothing was all there was. Endless nothingness, stretching on for eternity.

I walked for what felt like hours and didn't see anything out in the void. But... I noticed something strange, I wasnt hungry and I wasnt tired, my legs didn't even hurt even though I walked for so long. I decided to try doing push ups and noticed that my muscles werent getting tired, not even a little, after two thousand push ups in a row I knew that I couldn't get tired.

But this got me curious, what was the limit of this? I pinched myself and felt the pain which kind of surprised me, I thought this might have been a dream but since I felt pain it couldn't be. I bit my finger and started bleeding, which meant that I could get seriously hurt if I wasnt careful.

I started walking again but my body gave out, every inch of my body tired and strained. I fell to my knees and then face first into the ground and passing out.

When I woke up, my body wasnt aching anymore and my finger had healed.

'What the hell are the rules of this place?'

I asked myself in my mind as I continued walking. As I walked I thought about what could have been the reason for my passing out but didn't come up with anything.

I didn't know how much time had passed but guessed I had been walking for a day straight. I sat down and crossed my legs before drawing blood from my finger and drawing a game of five-in-a-row on the clear white ground.

"Maybe this will be sort of entertaining." I said out loud while trying to stay calm.

I played hundreds of times against myself before standing up and stretching. I decided to continue walking instead of just sitting around and playing a game with myself.

I wandered the void for what felt like a few more hours before stopping and stretching.

'If I'm going to spend eternity here alone I might aswell do something that I couldn't do in my normal life.'

I thought to myself, even though I wasnt sure what "normal" was right now I knew it wasnt this.

I got into something that I thought was a fighting stance and started throwing sloppy punches and kicks, but time passed, alot of it, and my muscles grew more flexible and stretchy and my movements started resembling a fierce dance instead of fighting, but I didn't care.

I stopped punching and kicking the air and started walking again but felt the same intense aching and pain as earlier before passing out once more.

I dreamt of earth, my home town, my life in school and my life after, I woke up and opened my eyes slowly with a single tear running down from my right eye.

"I wonder what everyone else is doing right now..." I said out loud as I sat up.

I stood up and began walking, jogging, quickly picking up the pace until I was sprinting. My legs started to ache and my lungs were burning but I kept running until my legs gave out and I tumbled forward.

I got back up, my breath ragged and my legs slightly shaking. It seemed that my body was only experiencing side effects of exertion after starting to move forward and not if I were to just stand still.

I laid down on my back and looked up at the white sky, the same clear white as the ground and endlesness in every direction.

'Is this just my hell?'

I thought to myself as I stood back up and masaged my aching muscles. I continued walking after I wasn't feeling much pain anymore.

I lost track of time even more than I already had, I could have been walking for hours, days, weeks, months or years. I had no way of knowing how much time had passed, but I had noticed that my body felt stronger than before even though I didn't see anything different about it.

I continued walking and sometimes even starting to run just to change it up a bit even though I was already way too bored to even care about it.

The void was quiet, calm, annoyingly calm, nothing happened here, I was the only thing here, the only thing that wasnt the white sky or ground that is.
