Chapter Six
As soon as I entered, silence filled the room.
The two old people looked at the axe in my hand before their expressions turned to fear.
"Sir, is there something you didn't like?"
The old man began to calm the sharp tension, but his eyes remained fixed on the axe in my hand.
I looked at the old man with disgust before speaking.
"Do you think I don't know what you did?"
After saying these words, silence fell over the room before the old man spoke with a trembling voice.
"N…no…I don't think you're a fool, but what did this old man do to upset you?"
I looked at the old man and the sweat pouring from his forehead before answering.
"Don't pretend to be ignorant. I promise you, if you act stupid again, I'll kill you."
The old man couldn't say a word and kept his gaze on the ground.
I looked at the old woman sitting on the floor and spoke sharply.
"Who came up with the idea of helping?"
Both the old man and woman looked at each other before each pointed in the direction of the other.
"This is what makes me disappointed in you, heroes of justice."
"You keep trying to appear like good people, but the truth is you'd get rid of the closest person to you if your life was on the line."
I grabbed the axe before throwing it toward the old woman.
"You have two choices. If you carry out either of them, I promise I'll spare you."
"You must cut off your hand or the old man's hand with the axe in your hands."
The woman looked at the axe in her hands in terror before gripping it tightly.
"My wife, don't believe him!"
The old man's words were ignored as the woman continued to advance.
The old woman walked slowly toward the man, but with a slight killing intent.
"Hey…please, my wife, don't do it…please."
The old woman didn't care what he was saying and raised the axe.
"Don't act without thinking, you whore."
"No, you whore!"
The woman didn't care about the insults she was receiving, and her gaze grew colder.
"Please no… crying"
A strike...
The woman raised the axe to cut the old man's hand, and just as she was about to strike, I grabbed the axe.
A cut...
Blue blood dripped from my hand before it fell to the ground.
I removed the axe from the old man's hand before throwing it far away.
I brought my face close to the old man's ear before speaking.
"Did you see… she didn't even take a single second to think before heading toward you and trying to cut off your hand."
"No, I…"
I looked at the old man who was trying to speak coldly before continuing.
"Sigh... I hope this never happens to me."
"Imagine… my wife almost cutting my hand off just to survive… Weren't you the one who spoke as if you were a hero of justice?"
"Has the hero of justice now wet his pants in fear?"
The man looked at the wet spot beneath him but didn't care due to the fear.
I adjusted my posture before walking toward the old woman.
The old woman tried to escape, but I grabbed her hand tightly, preventing her from moving.
"I didn't know your husband sees you as a whore."
"Was he looking at you that way all these years you were with him?"
"I don't even know what to say… Did you dedicate your whole life to him, and in the end, he calls you a whore?"
"No, he didn't mean that… trembling"
The woman tried to deny it.
I looked at her coldly before continuing.
"You're trying to hold on to him even though he thinks you're a whore… Honestly, I think what he said is true."
"You are just a whore."
I looked at the axe on the ground before slowly turning around.
I walked toward the room's exit calmly.
Slam
I grabbed the door tightly before slamming it shut.
"They need to spend some time alone."
"Hehehe… I hope they'll be able to solve their problems peacefully."
I said mockingly before heading to my own room.
"I must prepare… I don't know what the mission in t
hree days will be, but I have to be ready for it."
To be continued...
