Swish~ swish~
The faint whooshing sound filled the air as six shuriken flew out from Haruki's palm, slicing through the air and landing precisely on the target.
Proficiency +3!
This was a new technique Haruki had recently discovered—throwing multiple shuriken or kunai at once. If they all hit the target, he gained extra proficiency points.
Thanks to this, in less than two hours, his Ninja Tool Throwing skill's proficiency jumped to Lv0 (96/100)!
Just two more training sessions, and he could fully master it.
Swish~ swish~ swish~
More shuriken flew out.
Proficiency +2!
Proficiency +3!
Ninja Tool Throwing: Lv0 (96/100) → Lv1 (1/200)!
The instant the skill leveled up, it was as if Haruki broke through a barrier—gaining a fresh understanding of ninja tool throwing.
He had felt this during earlier proficiency gains, but never as clearly as now.
With a thought, Haruki grabbed a kunai nearby and casually threw it.
Even without focusing much, the kunai still stuck firmly on the target.
Is this what mastery feels like?
He mused inwardly as he rapidly tossed all the practice kunai and shuriken beside him—all hitting the target perfectly.
Opening his system panel, Haruki's smile vanished instantly.
No surprise—throwing so many tools in succession only raised his proficiency by one point.
Is this a Lv1 cap or something else?
Curious, Haruki immediately began testing.
About half an hour later, he stopped.
After dozens of throws, he understood the reason.
The slow proficiency increase stemmed from two factors:
First, the original owner's skill level was roughly here.
In other words, the memories and experience he inherited could no longer aid progress.
Naturally, his growth slowed.
Second, his earlier practice was too careless.
At Lv1, Ninja Tool Throwing required hitting the bullseye on a 10-meter target to gain proficiency.
Anything else was wasted effort.
Aside from one lucky shuriken, all his previous throws missed the bullseye.
Hence, the single-point increase.
This also showed that proficiency panels couldn't be tricked by sloppy practice.
To improve, sweat and effort were necessary—proficiency points just materialized that hard work.
But that was enough.
Many people gave up not because they refused to work hard, but because they saw no results.
If every drop of sweat showed progress, Haruki believed most would persist without quitting.
Shaking his head, he refocused all attention on Ninja Tool Throwing.
For him now, hitting the 10-meter target wasn't a problem.
Hitting the bullseye? That was much harder.
He had to concentrate fully—and even then, success was not guaranteed.
Seconds passed as kunai flew from his hands.
Most missed the bullseye; only about ten percent struck dead center.
Gradually, Haruki's proficiency in Ninja Tool Throwing crept upward—slow and arduous.
Unnoticed, school ended.
Amid the noisy chatter, Haruki opened his panel.

After a half-day of training, his Ninja Tool Throwing proficiency had risen by 28 points.
He had also spent over 20 chakra points replenishing his stamina.
Otherwise, even an iron man couldn't keep going.
Fortunately, all the effort was worth it.
At this pace, in less than a week, he could reach Lv2.
Then, just on tool throwing alone, he would be as skilled as many six-year students.
Even if graduating early, his ability to survive would improve.
But Ninja Tool Throwing alone wasn't enough.
Basic Taijutsu and the Three Basic Techniques had to keep pace.
Basic Taijutsu wasn't urgent—he already had a solid foundation left by the original owner and would master it soon enough by continuing practice.
The Clone Technique, however...
After the weekly test in three days, he could start seriously training the Substitute and Transformation Techniques.
While the Three Basic Techniques were weak against higher-ranked ninja, they were still effective against peers.
So before graduation, he needed to learn all of them—maybe even push to Lv2 or Lv3.
Only then could he have some sense of security.
Lost in thought, he hurried home.
After a quick meal to fill his stomach, he immediately began training.
First, two hours of chakra refinement.
Once his chakra was full, he practiced Clone Technique.
After exhausting chakra, he refined chakra for another two hours, recovering about 100 points, then continued Clone Technique practice.
Two cycles later, night had fallen.
His body was nearly at its limit, so it was time to rest.
He woke up to a new day.
School, training, repeat.
And so a week passed.
Haruki had just returned home when someone knocked.
Knock knock knock~
The sudden knocking puzzled him.
Since transmigrating, aside from classmates and teachers, he'd had almost no contact with anyone else—who could it be?
Though confused, he opened the door.
As for danger?
Forget it.
This was Konoha's heartland—and the Uchiha name alone deterred many.
Unless troublemakers came, being in the Uchiha district meant absolute safety.
Plus, those troublemakers either hadn't grown up or weren't in the village.
What was there to worry about?
Creaaak~
The door opened.
Standing outside was a Uchiha ninja wearing a Konoha jonin uniform.
"Haruki?"
The man spoke.
Haruki nodded hesitantly.
"Yes, that's me. Who are you?"
"My name is Uchiha Haruto. I'm here to deliver the village's compensation money to you."
Upon hearing this, Haruki's expression dimmed, memories of the original owner flooding back.
Seeing this, Uchiha Haruto continued without suspicion.
"Also, the clan will provide you with 10,000 ryo per month for living expenses until you become a genin."
He handed over an envelope.
"Thank you!" Haruki bowed and gratefully accepted the thick envelope.
