Luffy was all clean and dry and now wearing a red shirt with a little white fluffy lamb stitched onto it made by Brulee and a pair of pants that Smoothie had found in the old clothes for her siblings. Pudding was also nice and clean and dry and wearing one of her favorite dresses.
Amande however looked less than pleased and she was still drying off her hair as she gave the two children annoyed but amused looks. They were both giggling and holding hands and honestly looked rather cute as they walked in front of her.
"Enjoy your bath sister?" Brulee asked grinning slightly as she popped out of a nearby mirror, startling Pudding but making Luffy laugh.
"Very. How about you go in there and get one?" Amande asked giving her sister an annoyed look but there was no heat to her words. It was just a pain in the ass to try and get her hair dry without getting split ends or something, especially with how long and naturally wavy her hair was.
"Maybe in a little while. Mama said for Luffy-kun to be taught how to read, write and do math." Brulee relayed making Amande nod her head, she had noticed that the boy seemed to know how to read and do some small math but not a lot. Honestly if Mama didn't insist on him learning, Amande would have.
"So we're off to see Monte-d'Or then. Luffy-kun, Pudding-chan we're going to go visit Monte-d'Or." Amande said to the children who had already began wandering off, Luffy bravely and recklessly leading the charge while Pudding giggled as she followed him.
"Okay!" Pudding said and Luffy echoed her as the two raced back to Amande and Brulee, still hand in hand.
"It's a bit late in the day for a lot of learning, especially given everything else that has happened today. We'll probably just do a basic lesson to see how good his reading, writing and math are and give him tonight to design a lesson plan." Amande said thinking about it as she led the way towards her younger brothers library, Brulee taking the two childrens hands to keep them from running off.
"Sounds like a plan. Of course we need to find somewhere for Luffy-kun to sleep tonight." Brulee said nodding and making Amande hum slightly.
"We'll see if Perospero-onii-san can take him for the night if there's no open rooms. If not he can bunk with one of us. He's still young enough that it wouldn't be an issue." Amande said after a moment and earning a nod from Brulee. They were used to sharing rooms with their siblings, and more than a few times had they let their younger siblings crawl into their beds during a nightmare.
"I wonder how the rest of our siblings will react to him." Brulee said after a moment of quiet walking between the sisters while the two kids chatted happily among themselves.
"Probably be grateful at first that he protected Pudding, stunned he's from East…after that…well it depends on how much we tell them about what we learned or how he reacts to them." Amande said blowing out a trail of smoke as she considered the different ways her siblings would react to the boy. Daifuku would probably not like the kids just because he wasn't family, then again Daifuku didn't seem to like most of the younger members of the family either. Oven would probably be a bit grateful that he kept their sister safe but unless the kid proved himself strong or some other useful quality then Oven wouldn't care at all.
Compote-nee, Mondee, Hachee and Effilee however would probably love the kid on sight. Those four always adored their younger siblings and made certain to keep all children out of the danger area whenever Mama was having her Hunger Pains.
The others…well Broye would probably like the kid because he wasn't scared of Brulee and because Brulee liked him. Smoothie already liked the kid, Citron and Cinnamon would like him just cause she did…Cracker and his twin sisters probably wouldn't give the boy much thought or anything.
Monte-d'Or would love having someone new to teach and show his collection of books and unusual things to. Galette and Poire both would love him just because he was cute.
"I think he'll be alright." Amande said after another minute of considering her siblings and how they were likely to react to Luffy.
"Ah. We're at the library." Brulee said looking up at the large door.
"A library? What's that? A place for meat?" Luffy asked eyes widening and he bounced towards the door.
"No silly. It's for books! It's Monte-onii-san's favorite place!" Pudding said giggling and making Luffy look confused.
"What's a book? Food?" Luffy asked and Amande snorted slightly. Was it a side effect of his year of near starving along with any other starvation prior to his capture or was he just always that hungry?
"No silly! It's stories! You can read about far away places and people and things!" Pudding said laughing at Luffy and making him blink for a minute and frown as if thinking before he perked up. Amande and Brulee were fully prepared for the boy to say it was a mystery.
"Oh! Those things Sabo-nii always read! He said his dream was exploring the whole world and writing a book on everything he sees!" Luffy said as if it set off a lightbulb in his head but his smile dimmed and he looked a bit down. They acutely remembered that Sabo was the name of the brother who had died.
"It sounds like a wonderful dream." Amande said knowing how Monte-d'Or once wished to do the same thing.
"When you start as a pirate you can write down everything and fulfill his dream for him. If he can't be here to do it…I think he'd be happy if his younger brother did it for him." Brulee said softly as she put a hand on Luffy's head and gently ruffled his hat around to mess up his hair.
"Yeah! But…I don't know how to write." Luffy said frowning slightly as his excitement dimmed again.
"Don't worry. Our brother Monte-d'Or would be happy to teach you. He's right inside waiting on us." Brulee assured making Luffy beam at that and turn back to the doors determined.
It normally took three or four chess peacekeepers to open the large heavy doors. The sisters were impressed with Luffy however. After all instead of them opening the door or four peacekeepers doing it…
It only took one Luffy and a determined push to open it wide.
