"look who we have here?"
It was a sunny day in the Meng family courtyard, the cool summer breeze swept through the courtyard and flower petals fell from the trees. It created a peaceful and harmonious environment. In the middle of the courtyard stood a young girl probably about 16 years old, she stood admiring the trees in the courtyard. Behind her were three girls of the same age with probably a year or two difference from the first girl.
"What do you think you are doing in this courtyard?"
The same voice repeated itself, but was met with silence again. The girl looking at the trees tightened her hold on her scarf and refused to look at them.
Another voice sounded with a sneer "People might think that you are actually pretty with the way you are turning your back to us, we're even considerate enough to speak to you"
The girl standing in front of the trees was called Meng Fusheng, the eldest daughter of the Meng family, standing behind her were; Meng MeiLan ( Fusheng's step sister), Wang Chenling and Zhang Yinling (both of which were Meilan's friends). Truly as Zhang Yinling said earlier Fusheng was not pretty. When she was little she suffered from an unknown disease and then she was left with a darkened face, compared to MeiLan her step sister who looked literally like the Lily of the valley in the face of moonlight, Fusheng was very ugly and looks like a servant. So because of the incident she has often been bullied my her step sister's friends and was always told to never leave her room inorder to hide her existence. She only decided to come outside because the weather looked so beautiful from her room and compared to her private courtyard without a single flower the main courtyard was so lovely that she couldn't resist, only that she did not think that she will meet these people here.
Fusheng finally turned to face Chenling and Yinling, the two girls burst out laughing.
Chenling said "Just what made you think that you have the right to stand here in this beautiful courtyard and stain it with your ugly face."
Yinling said "I have finally seen a life worse than that of the servants"
Fusheng's eyes were already filled with tears and she lowered her eyes. Everytime these two girls bully her and yet nobody comes to her rescue, and she never fights back. The last time she tried to fight back which was two years ago, when she slapped Yinling, she received worse punishments than servants and also plus the fact that her mom was dead and her father hated her nobody cared about her.
MeiLan obviously enjoying the show used her handkerchief to cover her smiling lips and said sympathetically "Yinling and Chenling, don't say that to elder sister, no matter what she is still the eldest daughter of the Meng family, you shouldn't disrespect her"
Hearing her sister's supportive words, Fusheng naively believed that her sister was on her side and gathered the little courage she had and said "Yes it's true I am the eldest daughter of the Meng family, you can't disrespect me."
Chenling said "Don't you feel pathetic to actually say things like this? What do you have to offer as the first daughter of the Meng family... Clearly nothing. You don't have the face and you cannot even cultivate properly, what sort of family's first daughter is that?"
This was a huge blow to the confidence that Fusheng managed to gather, it was true that she does not have the ability, after suffering that unknown illness when she was little she lost all her foundation and cultivation and became a waste.
Yinling continued "For your information, the person the entire kingdom acknowledges as the eldest daughter of the Meng family is MeiLan and not some retarded waste. Even the Crown Prince has acknowledged MeiLan and very soon they will get married."
After Yinling said this MeiLan pretended to be shy and coquettish, she covered her face with her handkerchief and said "Yinling don't say that.. it's not confirmed yet."
Seeing all these Fusheng couldn't stand it and was about to go back to her courtyard, but Chenling and Yinling wouldn't let her go. As she was about to turn and go back to her residence, Chenling pulled her by her hair, while Yinling slapped her and said "What gave you the guts to leave while we're speaking to you?"
As Chenling released her hair, she said "Since you badly want to leave, why don't we just make you leave this world?"
Fusheng's eyes widened she tried to struggle and run back but the two girls were stronger than her, plus their cultivation strength, Fusheng wasn't a match for them. In the process of struggling, Fusheng slipped and fell, she hit her head on the stones in the courtyard. She started bleeding profusely, small dots began to appear in her vision. While all these were happening, MeiLan did not do anything to help Fusheng, she only started laughing when she saw that Fusheng was on the verge of loosing her consciousness.
Her Lackeys seeing her so happy felt that they had done a good job and couldn't resist saying "Now with Fusheng gone, you will finally be able to be the only Eldest daughter of the Meng family"
MeiLan sneered and said "I never considered her a threat, she was just so disgusting to look at so I wanted her to disappear"
Using her last strength, Fusheng heard everything they said, but the one thing she could not forget was Meilan's laugh and evil words. She was so shocked because despite everything she has been facing in this mansion, she always felt that MeiLan had her back and supported her, but now she just found out that MeiLan was actually the head instigator behind all her problems in the house. She cursed MeiLan in her heart, she wished she could take everything back from MeiLan and every single person that ever wronged her, but alas if wishes were horses, beggars would ride. She could feel herself drifting away from this world, she could still hear the laughter of MeiLan and her friends, she felt wronged and at that moment her flashed before her eyes and a single tear fell from her right eye and the world blacked out.
But before she could leave the only thing she could feel was the need for revenge...

(FEW HOURS LATER)
"Young Miss it's time for dinner"
In a dimly lit courtyard, a maid was standing in front of the main door, she was bowing to the door, she looked to the door reproachfully.
The house was even poorly furnished than the courtyard itself. A girl was lying on the mattress asleep and across from her was a bronze mirror. The girl was poorly dressed in under garments. There was a book shelf in the room, with large boxes around the room. The girl was no other than Meng Fusheng who was supposed to die from the blow to her head.
Meanwhile the person outside repeated the instructions again "Young Miss, it's time for dinner". Meng Fusheng scrunched her eyebrows because of the noise from outside. She opened her eyes and tried to sit up, but she felt like her head was breaking apart. She narrowed her eyes at the voice of her head maid outside, she thought to herself "Normally, they would just bring in the food without announcing it, especially today that I'm injured, so doing this just shows that this girl doesn't want me to have dinner. She probably wants me to be scared and refuse her. Well let's give her a show."
"Have the food delivered to the room, I caught the flu, so I cannot go the family dinner room."
The maid outside was shocked, she couldn't believe Fusheng was actually replying to her. She said "huh?" Fusheng replied to her and said "I am very sure that your ears are perfectly working, and that you heard me just right."
The maid felt a chill down her spine and hurriedly left. She didn't know how to explain it, but she felt that the useless Meng Fusheng was now a changed person, but she neglected it and headed to the main courtyard.
Meanwhile in the Meng Fusheng's room, the light in her eyes turned cold. She saw her reflection in the bronze mirror adjacent her bed, she saw how they didn't dress up the injury on her forehead. They were probably praying that she gets a scar. She smiled coldly, she perfectly remembered what happened earlier in the day, how Meilan her stepsister, together with her two friends had pushed her to her death.

After Fusheng lost her consciousness, she felt herself drifting away, deep down she knew she was dying and surprisingly she was very happy to die and leave the world behind. A beautiful city appeared before her eyes, but as she tried to get in, a very beautiful woman with bright red lips came in front of her and stopped her from entering in to the city.
She was confused and felt
that the woman was oddly familiar.
