"Some legends are buried not because they died, but because they dared to live beyond their purpose."

š Shadow Flame Stronghold ā Observation Hall
The man stood silently before Kael and his companions. His cloak fluttered in the mana-saturated air, eyes calm yet unreadable.
"You said you knew my father," Kael repeated.
The man nodded. "His name was Raven Ardan. He wasn't born into the system. He was the first to ever escape one."
Kael frowned. "Escape a system?"
The man raised his arm, revealing a scarred wrist devoid of any binding mark.
"No stats. No system window. No chain. I am like him⦠a man outside their design."

š System Report
> [Entity Classification: Ex-System]
[Chain Rejection Detected ā Subject immune to Arconte detection]
[Codename: The Hollow Watcher]

š The Past ā 25 Years Ago (Fragment)
A battlefield consumed in violet fire.
Raven Ardan stood at the edge of a broken portal, bloodied but unyielding. In one hand, he held a childāwrapped in chain-resistant cloth. In the other, a black-bladed dagger pulsing with anti-system energy.
Beside him stood the Hollow Watcher.
"He cannot grow under the Arcontes' shadow," Raven said. "Hide him⦠until he remembers."

š Back to Present ā Kael's Chambers
Kael stared at the blade now lying on the table. It shimmered with faint flickers of rejectionācutting through mana like it didn't belong to this world.
"This⦠was his?"
The Hollow Watcher nodded. "It's known as Nullfang. Forged to slay system-bound entities."
Kael's fingers trembled as he gripped it.
> [Weapon Analyzed: Nullfang ā Legacy Blade]
[Effect: Ignores Arconte-tier defensive constructs]
[Warning: Weapon may disrupt your own system connection]
Syl stepped closer. "You're going to train him, aren't you?"
The Watcher nodded once. "If he wants to survive the Arcontes⦠he must learn how to fight without relying on the very system they control."

š The Trial Grounds ā Forgotten Zone
Deep within the Stronghold, a sealed chamber opened for the first time in decades.
Kael entered with Nullfang.
His system flickeredānumbers gone, interface blank.
He was alone now.
No stats.
No skills.
Only will, instinct⦠and pain.
A construct formed before him: an echo of an Arconte-level opponent.
> [Trial Simulation Active ā Level: Fatal]
[No System Support ā Begin]
The figure charged.
Kael moved.
Slower.
Raw.
Every dodge cost him breath. Every strike with Nullfang tore through the enemy but drained his own strength.
He bled.
He screamed.
But he learned.
And he survived.

š Outside the Trial Chamber
Syl, Myrla, and the Watcher observed the aftermath.
"He endured the first phase," the Watcher said. "Most don't make it past the first five minutes."
Syl clenched her fist. "He's stronger than all of us realize."
The Watcher's eyes darkened.
"Yes⦠but strength comes at a cost."

š Final Scene ā Vel'Zhara's Nexus
Vel'Zhara's mirror pulsed violently.
She scowled.
"Who dares erase my influence"
She waved her handāand her reflection cracked.
A silent echo of Raven Ardan appeared in the mirror.
Vel'Zhara whispered, stunned:
"He was supposed to be deadā¦"
