Su Yang was stunned.
His parents in the simulation… were dead?
Not only had it happened earlier than expected, both of them were gone at once.
Wait a minute...
Su Yang narrowed his eyes slightly. Something clicked in his mind.
"Could it be because of the Big Eater talent?"
After all, with that kind of appetite, his parents, just an average family, would've had to prepare large quantities of rich, nutritious food every day. That couldn't have come cheap.
And that was just for now. As he grew older, the cost would've only increased.
Even though he was born into the Uchiha clan in the simulation, he was still just from an ordinary household.
Under those circumstances, his simulated parents must've felt pressure to earn more money.
And how do ninja make money?
By taking on missions, of course.
But here's the thing:
If you hang around the riverbank long enough, your shoes are bound to get wet.
If they kept doing missions, without having awakened their Sharingan and just being regular ninja, danger was inevitable. It was only a matter of time.
It just… came earlier this time.
"So then… Did I awaken my Sharingan?"
With a flicker of hesitation, Su Yang kept reading.
[You were devastated by the news of your parents' deaths and fell unconscious from grief.]
[When you awoke, you discovered that your Sharingan had been activated.]
[No one noticed your awakened eyes. You decided to keep it a secret.]
[Because you stayed low-key, no one in the clan found anything strange about you, besides your monstrous appetite and rapid growth. Even Fugaku Uchiha seemed to have forgotten about you completely.]
[You lived quietly for another three months. Your cautious attitude meant few people in the clan paid you any attention.]
[One night, after finishing a chakra refining session, you suddenly sensed an intruder in your home.]
[The person was far stronger than you. Before you could even react, you were knocked unconscious.]
[While unconscious, the intense pain woke you again. You realized, your eyes had been gouged out. Your body was also being dismembered.]
[Just before losing consciousness for good, you overheard some brief conversation, you were inside a base belonging to the Root organization.]
[And then… you died.]
[You died at age 4.]
[Simulation ended.]
Su Yang: …
Danzo, you bastard! I, Su Yang, will never forgive you!
He was furious.
He thought that this time, things were going smoothly. At the very least, he should've survived until age eight.
But in the end?
He still died at Danzo's hands, and even earlier than before.
Su Yang was beyond frustrated.
"Looks like Danzo was already after Uchiha's eyes at this stage."
Once his anger subsided, Su Yang began analyzing the situation.
If his parents had still been alive, Danzo probably wouldn't have made a move so soon. Especially if there were clan members keeping an eye on him, Danzo wouldn't have risked it.
That bastard must've specifically targeted low-profile Uchiha orphans, quietly abducting them for experiments.
But then came the real question: Did Danzo know I had awakened my Sharingan?
If not, why did he take my eyes?
"Or maybe… he digs out the eyes of any Uchiha he can find?"
Su Yang wasn't sure.
It needed further testing.
What was clear, however, was this: he couldn't afford to be too exceptional… nor too invisible.
Either extreme meant dying early.
Finally, his eyes turned to the post-simulation evaluation and reward screen.
[Simulation Rating: E]
[Choose one of the following rewards:]
Option 1: Big Eater (White-tier Talent) – Requires 100 Simulation Points
Option 2: Chakra Proficiency – Requires 100 Simulation Points
Option 3: Sharingan (One Tomoe) – Requires 100 Simulation Points (First-time Bonus Price)
Just as he expected, only a single-tomoe Sharingan.
Su Yang immediately skipped the first option.
Sure, Big Eater was a decent talent. It boosted physical growth and development, but it had no value in the real world.
It was worth noting that, even though each simulation began like a rebirth, it was always based on Su Yang's real self.
If Su Yang had the Sharingan in real life, then no matter what his background was in the simulation, whether he was born Uchiha or not, he'd still carry that bloodline trait.
So, if he chose the Big Eater talent as his reward, it would permanently become part of future simulations.
But that talent had its drawbacks, too.
Su Yang decided not to choose it.
That left only one viable reward,
"Chakra!"
Why not the Sharingan?
Two simple reasons.
First, without chakra, a one-tomoe Sharingan would be practically useless.
Second, the first-time bonus.
Su Yang had already confirmed: this bonus applied to the Sharingan's tier, not just its presence.
Meaning, whether it's a single tomoe, triple tomoe, or even Mangekyō, the first time he selected any version of the Sharingan, it would come at the discounted price.
Next time, it would be full price.
So it only made sense, he had to wait and pick the highest-tier Sharingan possible when claiming it for the first time.
At the very least, he'd aim for a two-tomoe version.
Which meant… for now, chakra was the way to go.
The only problem?
"I don't have any simulation points!"
He needed at least 100 points, but currently had a big fat zero.
"I don't care if I have to stay up all night, I'm finding a way to earn simulation points."
Su Yang was determined.
Simulation rewards would carry over to the next simulation. However, if he didn't claim one, he wouldn't be able to start another simulation at all.
He had to make a choice first.
Unfortunately, simulation attempts didn't stack. At least not for now.
If he didn't use today's simulation, it would be wasted.
And Su Yang wasn't about to let that happen.
He had to figure out a way to earn simulation points.
That night…
Su Yang didn't sleep.
