Chapter 1 - c0: Modded Minecraft?

Rolling clouds came from the far distance, bringing darkness and gloom. I looked up, groaning, rubbing the bark of the tree beside me. It was more than ten times taller than me, at least, from this angle. If you cut it down from the base, it'd definitely cause a commotion.

However...

Pixelated blue particles bloomed from my hand, coming together and forming a wooden axe. Gulping, I looked back at the tree. Raising my axe...

Chop-Chop-Chop-Break!

A gap broke from the tree trunk for a moment, leaving behind a floating cuboidlog. Then, the chunk above it vanished, followed by the one above it—and before I knew it, it was raining logs from the sky. Small, pixelated cubes that hovered harmlessly on the soil. Those that fell on my head were instantly absorbed, going directly into my inventory.

Growl...

The ancient tree vanished, leaving behind a stump. The cost? I was famished. Thankfully, I already prepared for this instance. Glancing at my inventory, I spotted my wooden axe, which barely had any durability left. The durability bar had gone gray, with one pixel of red left inside. Lucky.

I could use it to smelt one item, maybe.

Aside from the axe, I had a wooden sword and a pickaxe, a crafting table, and...

"Holy!" I gasped, breaking into a dumbfounded giggle. That one tree resulted in 58 oak logs!

Compared to earlier, when I punched a young tree from the top down, getting 8 oak logs, using a wooden axe was godsend. As for why punch it from top to bottom, apparently, gravity still existed. Just, delayed.

My lips turned flat.

Earlier, when I punched a tree like how you would in vanilla Minecraft, a gap in the middle appeared. All was fine, until blue sparks appeared, as though trying to fill in the gaps. Before long, the top half of the tree started to fall, tilting toward me.

Needless to say, I wasn't risking it again. Without getting out of the way first.

Heh.

I may not know where I am, but thankfully, I know some Minecraft stuff! A word of caution, don't download mods from unknown sources. Especially not mods named like "Transmigration Mod, alpha version".
