[You have slain Annihilation Legion Vanguard – Airi. You gained 91,244 EXP.]
A system message popped up in Jiang Qiao's view.
All the other players who participated in the boss raid received the same EXP.
But no one came here for EXP.
They came for loot. Orange and red loot.
When Airi vanished, nothing dropped.
Just as players were starting to grumble, the sky exploded in a rain of rainbow light—interlaced red and orange rays—and a blinding golden glow that nearly blinded them.
"That's… legendary gear?"
"Loot drop?! And that many?!"
Players realized the rain was no illusion—over 300 pieces of legendary and special equipment glittered in the sky like falling stars.
Jiang Qiao stared at the dazzling display in awe.
He swore he'd never seen so many epic items drop at once.
Unfortunately… this golden rain had been his own setup.
In the skies above, Hai Lan, still in stealth, opened her Unbreakable Storage Bag like a digital Santa Claus, delivering gifts to every player.
Yes, every player who joined the raid received a legendary or special item—or a mount reins.
Each item streaked down like a shooting star and landed perfectly into the players' hands.
While Jiang Qiao had been focusing on killing the BOSS, Hai Lan used her mind-link with him to carefully distribute class-appropriate gear to each player.
This "gift-drop" system had some randomness built in.
Each player would receive either:
A legendary item,
A special item,
Or mount reins.
"I got a legendary!"
Before Jiang Qiao could check what he himself got, a heavily-armored warrior, previously flattened like a sardine tin by Airi, cheered while raising a glowing golden shield.
He raised it like a wrestler lifting his championship belt.
After being smashed into the ground for an hour straight, this was worth it.
"Don't get too cocky, Shortblade—I got a legendary too!"
"Legendary gear at level 25 won't last long. You want special gear—no level limit, real profit."
Some players were smart.
In most MMOs, level 25 gear was temporary. It'd get replaced by level 35, if not sooner.
But special gear—that could last forever.
Hard to get, sure. But often tradeable and useful even at level 100.
Most players got legendary gear or mount reins.
Only around 30 players pulled a special item.
Zhao Mingwei was one of them.
He held a floating red-glowing orb:
[Memory of the Light Sprite]
He'd actually pulled it.
He couldn't stop grinning.
Jiang Qiao got a legendary staff for summoners.
Stats: decent for this phase.
But joy didn't last long—orc roars nearby reminded everyone: the dungeon wasn't over yet.
"Hai Lan, assign a quest to all healing-class players," Jiang Qiao said mentally, swapping to his new epic staff: Prayer of the Fire Sprite.
[Mission: Aid the Wounded NPCs in the Abyss Rift. Heal 10 for a reward: Mini Gryphon Reins.]
Hai Lan, now fully Jiang Qiao's personal errand-runner, didn't object.
She had seen firsthand how players slaughtered monsters like locusts.
She even had to fly around tossing in blue and white gear to make the loot tables look full.
But the Abyss Hunt was a player victory.
Now it was cleanup time.
