In the lands where magic pulses through every breath and bone, lineage is more than heritage — it is identity. Affinities run in the blood, and blood defines power.
But not all blood is honored equally.
1. Purebloods
"Born of one. Bound to one. Master of all it offers."
Purebloods descend from a single, undiluted elemental bloodline. Fire. Water. Wind. Earth. Lightning. Each child born of pure lineage inherits a fierce, singular affinity — honed, deep, and powerful.
Among the tribes and empires, Purebloods are often elevated to roles of leadership, tradition, or warfare. Their path is narrow — but unmatched in depth.
Power Potential:
– Elemental precision
– Strongest spells unlocked through intense discipline
2. Common-bloods
"Two paths cross, and something new begins."
Common-bloods are born of two elemental lines — water and earth, wind and lightning, fire and wind, and more. Their magic is more adaptive, more versatile. Some invent new hybrid spells. Many drift between roles, not limited to the expectations of any one tribe.
They are the most common bloodline — and often the most creatively gifted.
Power Potential:
– Hybrid affinities (e.g. steam, storm, sand, glass)
– Adept-to-Master level mages can wield combined-element spells
– Often underestimated — until it's too late
🌪 3. Half-Caste
"One pure. One mixed. The edge of legacy."
Half-Castes are born of one Pureblood and one Common-blood parent. They exist on the edge of legacy and invention — a blend of rigid elemental force and fluid magical potential. Some thrive. Most fracture.
Their place in society often depends on which lineage asserts itself — and how the child chooses to wield it.
Power Potential:
– Unstable but potent dual affinities
– Potential to unlock hybridized, reactive magic
– Can be limited or liberated by social expectation
🐾 4. Curs
"Of many. Claimed by none. Surviving where others would vanish."
Curs are born from tangled lines — bloodlines mixed beyond tradition, beyond pride. Often treated as lesser, even monstrous, they walk the margins of society, wielding magic that doesn't fit neatly into any doctrine.
But in chaos, there is creativity.
In rejection, there is resilience.
Some of the most unpredictable mages the world has ever known were once called Curs.
Power Potential:
– Highly adaptive magic with shifting affinity
– May develop unique, instinctive spellcraft
– Rarely trained formally — but dangerous when pushed
5. Deathblood & Angelblood
"Touched by that which lies beyond."
Some are born not of elemental blood — but of myth.
Death-bloods carry traces of the Forsaken magic either through bloodline or influence by the Forsaken realm— beings bound to shadows, decay, or cursed memory. Their magic weaves through darkness, and silence.
Angel-bloods descend from the Divine, most often through bloodline but few have been touched by the divine themselves — luminous beings of order, goodness, and sometimes wrath. Their presence is rare… and never neutral.
Both are feared. Revered. Watched.
For where they walk, history bends.
Note: While rare, any mage — regardless of bloodline — may be born with traces of Deathblood or Angelblood. These subtle inheritances of darkness or light do not replace their elemental affinities, but instead shape how those elements manifest. A fire-wielder touched by Deathblood might conjure flame that consumes spirit as well as flesh; an earth mage with Angelblood may bend stone to sanctify.
It is exceedingly rare for any individual to be born with only light or darkness as their core affinity. Such beings are often regarded not as just as mages... but as proof that a great change is coming.
Power Potential:
– Unnatural spells: soul-binding, , purification
– Presence alone may alter magical ecosystems
– Rare and often unstable — but world-shaping.
