Chapter 1
Inside the Leaky Cauldron's one of the finest rooms, A man with wavy blond hair opened his eyes and couldn't help but notice a familiar face right in front of him in the mirror.
"Gilderoy Lockhart?" The man couldn't help but mumble confusedly, as this man was supposed to be a fictional character, but right now he could see him in the mirror.
"Wait a minute...Mirror? Does that mean…" The man couldn't finish his words as suddenly a wave of headache hit him, followed by a bunch of memories where a woman was treating a young kid too much good, then a young kid scoffing for not getting a good welcome at school; the memories of the same person accepting too much from everyone continued for a while.
As the memories finally ended, the man didn't even have any words to say out loud, as he already knew what kind of person this Gilderoy Lockhart was, so seeing those memories didn't leave much of a cringe-worthy effect on him.
"But why did I have to transmigrate into this body?" Gilderoy couldn't help but complain; though he transmigrated in this world without dying was another matter, at least he should've given another person a body, like Harry Potter, Dumbledore, or even Snape... No, no, what am I even thinking?
Gilderoy slapped his head smoothly for even thinking about such a vile thing.
Calming down, Gilderoy got down from the bed and began to look around, as the first thing he needed to find out was today's date; his only goal at this moment was to find out where exactly he was in the plot, and soon enough he found that out.
Knock... Knock…
"Mr. Lockhart, the book signing ceremony is about to start." A voice came out from behind the door after two knocks, and thanks to that, Gilderoy realized as well that he had come into this guy's body at the wrong time as well, as he definitely hated signing on those books that were plagiarizing others's hard work.
'But what can I even do at this point? It's not like I can vanish from here.' Though Gilderoy even thought about that opportunity, he realized that he would be forced to avoid many other things because of that as well, so he just said, "Hmm, I'll be there in a minute," and then, as he heard the departing footsteps, he got busy getting dressed up, which wasn't as easy as he had expected it to be.
A few minutes later, as Gilderoy walked out of his room, he cursed, 'How can that shameless guy own that manyshiny clothes?' Though at this moment, too, he was adorned in somewhat shiny clothes, when he had opened his suitcase to get a dress out, he had almost mistaken it for some woman's suitcase.
"Good morning, Mr. Lockhart."
"I hope you have a good day, Mr. Lockhart."
'You too." Under the praising eyes and warm greetings, Gilderoy made his way out of the Leaky Cauldron, and stopping right in front of the legendary entrance wall, he took out his wand and tapped it on the bricks in an orderly manner, which then began to move away like piano keys and then revealed the way to Diagon Alley.
"This is going to be a little stressful, I think." Gilderoy muttered while flashing a warm smile toward a passing woman who continued to look at him till she passed by. Gilderoy, though in his past life he wasn't someone who ignored having conversations with people, however, he disliked being the center of attention.
But the guy he had become now was someone who attracted attention like some sort of magnet.
"Ah, the star of the book signing ceremony is finally here." Mister Flourish, the owner of the bookstore, seeing Gilderoy approaching from afar, opened his arms wide and said out loud, turning the attention of all of the fans that had already gathered around toward him.
Becoming the center of attention, Gilderoy couldn't help but gulp while putting an arrogant and haughty smile on his lips while continuing his steps toward the bookstore.
The middle-aged women who were waiting for quite a while to get a glimpse and sign of him, seeing him right in front of them, couldn't control themselves and rushed toward him, as if he were some limited-edition candy that would vanish if they didn't hurry.
Seeing his tactic working and the crowd gathering the attention of the other people passing by, Mr. Flourish smiled widely, and then, looking at two burly men standing behind him, he ordered, "Get him safely in the store; I don't want to hear his nagging later." The two men hearing that nodded and immediately walked forward to assist Gilderoy.
'Sigh, I should have at least made some preparation before coming here.' Gilderoy, letting himself free amidst the crowd and allowing them to shake him like some soft doll, if the original Gilderoy were to be here, he definitely would have liked this kind of attention, but for some like him, this felt a little suffocating.
'Only if I could do apparition!' Gilderoy thought, and for a second even decided to try it too, but seeing how many of the women were almost touching him here and there, he didn't feel confident in himself; however, thankfully, a few seconds later, the burly wizard let free by Mr. Flourish finally made his way next to him to safeguard him from all of those crazy fans.
"Please, if you continue to block his way, it will only trouble the signing ceremony."
"Please give way."
As the book signing ceremony was mentioned, the crazy group who initially looked unwilling immediately gave way, and the almost torn and handsome-looking Gilderoy finally arrived in the shop and was greeted by Mr. Flourish with a warm smile, "How were my arrangements, Mister Lockhart?"
Gilderoy stared at the man for a moment as if he wanted to pull out all of his hair, but then, taking a deep breath, he managed to say, "Though it was a little rough, I liked the craze my fans have for me, haha." Putting on the arrogant and haughty act was truly troublesome for a poor guy like him.
