The syringe trembled in Dr. Weber's hands as he prepared the third injection. Victor Sterling's body convulsed on the bed, his face a mask of agony.
"Stop," I commanded, my voice echoing through the room like thunder.
Dr. Weber froze, the needle inches from Victor's arm. "The serum just needs proper dosing. Medical science requires precision."
"Medical science?" I laughed coldly. "You call experimenting on a dying man science?"
Mrs. Sterling clutched her husband's hand, tears streaming down her face. "Please, someone help him. I can't watch him suffer like this."
Isaac stepped forward, his face grim. "Laura, let Ethan help. The serum is killing Victor."
"No," she sobbed. "Dr. Weber said it would work. Real medicine, not superstition."
