Chapter 46 - Hold on!

Chapter 46

Lurman's Perspective

-----

Ferma rushed toward Hezra, her eyes filled with concern.

"Hezra! Hold on!" But Hezra was swaying, her knees buckling, the vital energy draining from her like air from a punctured balloon. Dark purple blood began to appear around the needle marks on her skin, indicating that the poison was draining the vital energy from her body.

"You'll pay for this!" she snarled, pointing her sword at the ground to shake the ground beneath the silver mask crow's feet.

She cast the [Earth Crack] spell using a small amount of vitality. The ground shook violently and cracked around the silver mask crow, trying to swallow him.

"Hahahaha, it's useless!" The silver mask crow laughed maniacally.

He didn't move from his spot, but pressed a hidden button on his belt!

Suddenly, his body rose straight up from the ground and flew backward as if using magic.

"You can't stop me, Lurman!" said the silver mask crow as it threw more mechanical insects, this time at me, trying to force me to move. "No matter how advanced your Vital techniques are, mine are designed to counter them!"

I felt pressed for time. Every second I spent fighting the silver mask crow increased the chance that the old man and the other shadow would get away.

The silver mask crow was a master of defensive combat, using his mechanical weapons and anti-magic techniques to hinder me.

I released the Vital to spread a shield around my body while I changed tactics.

Instead of a direct attack, I began firing waves of Vital at the silver mask crow. These waves were not meant to cause physical harm but to disrupt its machine. The waves emitted powerful pulses. The pulses caused the silver mask crow's insects to flash and make strange noises, distracting them for a moment and giving me a chance to get in front of it!

The crow and I exchanged blows violently, our swords leaving trails of light in the air. The silver mask crow countered every attack fiercely, its agility surpassing the speed of lightning.

It tried to throw more red balls at me, but I was faster. I released a wave of Vital from my sword, knocking the balls away before they could break apart and shoot out red needles.

"Hold on!" Ferma shouted, sitting next to Hezra as she tried to pull the needles out of her body. "The poison is spreading fast, sir! We need a huge concentration of vital to heal her, and my vital isn't enough!" Ferma replied, her voice trembling as Hezra collapsed in her arms.
