After Christmas, the newspapers reported the death of the master potion maker. School was boring, so I proposed to Astoria in front of the whole school, and she accepted. Many teachers condemned us, saying that polygamy was not a good thing. But when did I ever listen to anyone? Lily just smiled as she listened to complaints about her son's immoral behaviour.
Horace Slughorn was appointed as the new teacher and dean of Slytherin, whom I liked much more than Snape for two reasons. The first and most important was that he did not look at Lily. The second reason was less important, but as a teacher, Slughorn was much better than the previous professor.
In other news, I received a letter from the Auror in May accusing me of bodily harm and insulting a member of the Malfoy family.
While the letter was being discussed at breakfast, Draco smiled nastily. I wasn't worried about it: it's not difficult to influence judges, and with Dumbledore, who is the head of the Wizengamot, as my servant, I have nothing to fear.
At the end of the school year, the newspapers published the news of Sirius Black's capture. The Dementors managed to surround him and consume his soul.
Meanwhile, Ron began complaining to everyone about his missing rat. This individual even tried to blame me for it.
The summer began with trouble. Edward began to gather supporters who were dissatisfied with the current regime. Many wanted to live and work in two worlds, which is not possible at the moment. If a child leaves for Hogwarts, then he is unlikely to be able to find a job in the ordinary world. A child who refuses to go to school will sooner or later die, unable to cope with magical emissions. The magical world itself cannot provide decent jobs for all wizards. These were the people who worried about their children and joined us.
The world was talking more and more about the miracles performed by people who hid their faces. The Ministries of Magic of all countries sounded the alarm, but they couldn't do anything. The unknowns escaped in time, leaving no trace behind, unless it was a new miracle for Muggles.
The hearing against me was scheduled for six days after the Quidditch World Cup, which, incidentally, was to be held in Britain.
Edward invited Lily and me to the championship. He reserved seats for us in the VIP box. At first, I wanted to decline, but Edward convinced me to meet there and then negotiate a plan of action. There was still a chance to take control of the British Minister of Magic, which was a good offer, and that's why I went to the championship.
When I arrived at the championship venue, I was shocked. The venue for the international championship was a huge clearing with a stadium surrounded by a forest of tents. It wasn't what I had imagined for such an important event.
Finding Edward's tent, we went inside. What looked like a small tent from the outside was actually a two-storey marquee. From the second floor, we heard the sound of footsteps.
"Al! You're finally here!" - Astoria was the first to run out to greet us.
Daphne was more outgoing than her sister. While her younger sister greeted us, Daphne pushed past her and hugged me, dragging me along on a tour of the tent.
In the evening, when people were already gathering at the stadium, we all went to our seats, where a surprise awaited me.
In the VIP seats, next to us, were the Weasleys and the Malfoys. The championship promises to be fun.
POV Lucius Malfoy
As I waited for the championship to begin, I was lost in thought. Potter! He branded my son as the Dark Lord, he branded me! At this thought, my left arm began to ache again, throbbing. Not a good sign. Thanks to my connections in the Aurorate and in Wizengamot, I managed to file a lawsuit against Potter. But I hope to get rid of him today. My friends have decided to shake off their old age and remember their youth. Today, after the game, we will stage an attack by the Death Eaters. A smile appeared on my face, and when I looked at Potter, I saw him smiling too. He looked at me and then began to whisper something to Lord Greengrass, who had already looked at me.
Grungerass muttered, "Another failure because of Potter. First, they refused to become my vassals, so I drove them into debt, but that boy helped them by bringing a huge amount of money. Then he got engaged to the Green Grasses' eldest daughter, and then their youngest. He's constantly bothering me. The plan with the Dark Lord's diary didn't work out either. The murders and chaos that were supposed to be caused by the Dark Lord's memories and remove Dumbledore from his position as headmaster. At first, everything went well: attacks, panic, and complaints from parents. But then it all ended, and Dumbledore blamed it all on Weasley's youngest daughter! Why did I give her the diary?!
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the International Quidditch Championship! Let's welcome the team mascots! And so... Bulgaria!
I was brought out of my thoughts by Ludovic Bagman, the head of the Department of Magical Games.
Veelas ran out onto the field. Magical creatures who dare to live among wizards, so beautiful... I began to lose myself, admiring how these beautiful creatures danced. I want to touch them, I want to be with them, I'll do anything for them!
I stood up from my seat, took a step forward, but the railing prevented me from going any further. I felt a push from behind and flew over the railing onto the stands below. When I came to, I was lying on the floor, surrounded by wizards. Those damn birds had bewitched me! But who pushed me? Looking around, I saw Potter looking smug!
The mascots' performance ended while I was lying unconscious, and the game came to an end! Ireland beat Bulgaria, even though Bulgaria caught the Snitch! How could I have missed that?!
In a lousy mood and with a bandage on my head, I went to my friends, who were already ready to party.
"You look terrible, Lucius.
"Shut up, Gregory, you're making me sick.
"It'll get easier soon, kill a couple of mudbloods and life will be great.
I smiled, but today my target is Potter!
We transgressed among the tents and began burning them with the wizards inside. We cast spells against transgression and continued the fun. Yeah, defenceless, weak, unworthy of being wizards! The Green Grass tent, where Potter should be, was not far away, so I hurried there, releasing a dark mark into the sky.
"Arrrrrraaaaaa!!" A strange noise could be heard in the distance, but we had to hurry before the Aurors arrived.
"Strun-Ba-Kvo!" - I heard from the sky. The weather was already cloudy, but now a storm began. Lightning flashed, splitting the dark mark in half.
In the flashes of lightning, I saw a large dark figure flying in the sky. Another flash, and the dark figure dove down, crashing into the ground with force. When the clumps of earth fell, another bolt of lightning struck, illuminating a huge dragon whose scales were darker than night and whose wings could create gusts of wind that blew houses away.
The dragon roared, and three portals appeared in front of it, from which three people in iron masks and strange clothes floated out into the air. Their bodies were covered in gilded armour. Their sleeves were like wings, just like the dragon's behind them. These strange people were familiar to me; I had seen their photos in the newspapers. They were the ones who had broken the law against revealing magic!
The man in the centre, whose mask had two fangs, stepped forward and began to speak in a distorted voice.
"We are the Dragon Priests! The world must change, and the coming of the World Eater is proof of this!
After these words, a staff with a dragon's mouth appeared in the priest's left hand, and a dagger in his right.
The dragon looked around, then shouted to the heavens, from where lightning began to strike with renewed force, one of them hitting a metre away from me.
I was thrown back a couple of metres and crashed into a tent. As I got up, I saw the priests throwing fireballs from their hands and sending lightning bolts from their staffs. I saw a huge chunk of ice fly towards Gregory and tear off his head.
Panic and fear gripped me when the Dragon roared again. The priests and the Dragon did not touch anyone except the Death Eaters. Realising this, I started to take off my mask and hood while running.
"Thinking of running away from me, you worthless creature?" Turning my head, I saw eyes, red eyes that promised me death. Hoping for salvation, I sent an avada into the dragon's mouth, but it was useless. Sharp teeth bit off my legs, my arms were pierced by thick fangs. Blood spurted from my mouth with my last scream. The last thing I saw was another fang emerging from my stomach. Finally... Darkness... But... Why does it hurt?
End of Lucius Malfoy's POV
Going to that championship was not a waste of time! Definitely not!
When I saw Malfoy, I entered his mind and learned about the attack during the championship. Then I watched Veela's performance, in which I could see a resemblance to the sorceresses of Skyrim. Sorceresses are former women who traded their human lives for magical powers. The price of power is the loss of human appearance and transformation into half-birds. They can charm their victims into serving them. Are they really similar to Veela? By the way, I didn't like the attempt to take control of my mind, but when I saw Malfoy fighting against the railing of the stands, trying to reach them, I used telekinesis to push the poor guy, throwing him onto the stands below. For that, I forgave the birds; at least they're not as scary as in Skyrim.
I didn't pay any attention to the game. Instead, I discussed with Lily and Edward what we were going to do. Once we had made a decision, I sent a signal to Lovegood's mask, who, incidentally, was also present at the game.
After the championship, Astoria and Daphne teleported home using my wedding rings, and then we waited.
The Death Eaters appeared twenty minutes later. They simply moved, covering the field with a spell that prevented me from summoning Lily, Xenophilius, and Edward. Today, we officially presented our organisation as the Dragon Cult.
The stormy sky, summoned by my cry, split the dark mark in half, then lightning began to strike the Death Eaters.
Lily sent lightning bolts at the black robes, Lovegood preferred to fire ice spikes, and Edward reduced his enemies to dust.
One devourer, apparently the smartest, decided to run, removing his mask and cloak. Oh, who do we have here? My mouth twisted into a smile. I caught up with the platinum blond.
"Thought you could escape me, you piece of trash?" I said, looking at Malfoy.
Fear, despair, and pleading in the eyes of my victim! That's what I'm missing in this world! I miss the hunt and the kill! I relished chewing up this coward who ran away, leaving his comrades to die. And now, what kind of trial can there be when there is no prosecutor? Hehe.
Looking around, I saw Lily scream and throw the devourer ten metres away. Like Lovegood, wounded, she screamed, drawing the life force out of her enemy while healing herself. I saw Edward, who had decided to repeat the knightly deeds of his family, summoning dragon armour with a cry, taking a sword and going to cut down the devourers. My priests perform their duties, and out of a sense of pride and excitement, I raise my head and exhale a hundred-metre pillar of flame into the sky, signalling that we are done here.
