Luca didn't bother with the phone that had fallen to the ground. After looking up again, he immediately noticed something.
A dump truck that had been driving in front of their car suddenly stopped very fast for no clear reason.
If it hadn't been for Samira maintaining a safe distance from the truck and reacting quickly enough… the car might have crashed right under the big truck.
Even so, the car was forced to break in the middle of the road.
However, just because Samira was able to react in time didn't mean the cars behind them could do the same.
Before Luca even had a chance to catch his breath...
"BANG!"
A deafening crash sounded.
As expected, the car behind them smashed directly into the back of their car.
The powerful impact pushed their car forward once again.
"BANG!"
"BANG!"
"BANG!"
It was impossible to tell how many cars were crashing into each other.
After a few seconds, Luca's car was now completely stuck under the big truck in front of them.
The windshield was shattered like a spider web, and the deployed airbag had slammed Samira's head hard against the back of her seat.
However, Samira didn't have time to care about herself.
She quickly pulled out a small sharp knife, popped the airbag, and shouted to Luca, "Master! Get out of the car!"
Luca felt dizzy from all the crashing, but he quickly reached for his seatbelt and unbuckled it.
"BANG!"
This time, it was a car from the side lane that crashed straight into Luca's door.
The impact wasn't powerful, but the car that hit them had wedged Luca's door shut perfectly.
He quickly looked around to see what was going on.
He noticed the driver of the car that hit them didn't even look at him, and the man just jumped out and ran away in a panic.
In that instant, Luca realized this crash wasn't an accident.
He turned to climb out the other side of the car, and that's when he saw a giant dump truck racing toward them from the other side of the street, not slowing down at all.
"Damn it!!"
Even if he managed to crawl over and open the other side of the door, Luca still might not escape the oncoming truck in time.
He looked at the broken window next to him and quickly calmed his mind. He reached toward the holster at his waist and pulled out a big, strange-looking pistol with an unusually strange design.
At the same time, Luca began crawling with both hands and feet toward the car door.
A blue light strip on the handgun flashed rapidly, accompanied by a series of electronic voice prompts.
"The portable psychological diagnostics system is not connected. Dominator initializing. Waiting for user confirmation…"
"Shut up already! Activate Destroy Decomposer!!"
Luca roared, forcefully interrupting the system's long broadcast.
"User confirmed. Execution mode: Destroy Decomposer!"
Immediately, the dark green handgun in Luca's hand began to split apart rapidly.
It opened up by itself, glowing with bright blue lights that surged outward, forming concentric bands that wrapped around his entire arm.
A continuous crackling of electricity filled the air.
"Samira! Get out of the car—now!!"
Hearing Luca's shout and noticing the weapon in his hand surging with power, Samira didn't hesitate for a second and dove out of the driver's seat and ran.
By then, Luca had already pushed the door open and had one foot on the ground.
The speeding dump truck was rushing straight at him, but his eyes held only a cold, deadly calm.
"Dieee! I'm not planning to transmigrate again!!"
Luca raised his arm and aimed the handgun, even as the voice in his ear continued its broadcast.
"Target will be completely neutralized. Please exercise caution!"
At that moment, the glowing orb at the muzzle had grown significantly larger, and the blue lights were all drawn in tightly, forming a powerful energy beam.
"VMMM—"
A bright blue blast of energy shot out from the gun, hitting the oncoming dump truck in a split second.
The blinding blue and white light exploded everywhere, turning into a giant glowing energy ball that crackled with noise.
The beam was so hot and intense that it instantly cut a massive hole in the front of the truck.
As the vehicle continued to speed forward, the cut rapidly expanded the hole, slicing all the way down the truck's body.
In the blink of an eye, the high-energy particle ball floating in front of Luca had pierced straight through the entire truck.
The truck was melted and cut apart, and the broken pieces flew off in every direction.
That enormous dump truck had been completely annihilated… by a single shot, and only a few remnants remained in the places the beam didn't hit.
"BOOOOMM—"
A few scattered fragments of debris whizzed past Luca. He could even feel the hot air rush past his ear from all the melted metal.
The flying pieces of metal smashed into the cars on both sides, making them all scratched and broken, but Luca, who was standing right in the middle of it all, wasn't hurt at all.
The blast from his gun had destroyed every single thing coming at him. He stepped fully out of the vehicle, letting the wind stirred by the heatwave brush against his face.
Luca stood still for a moment.
The expanded mode of the [Dominator] in his hand quickly folded back in, transforming into what now looked like nothing more than a slightly oddly shaped dark green gun.
It was only at this moment that most of the people began to process what had just happened.
The entire street seemed to fall silent for a moment.
…
Until...
"Hooo—ly—shiiit!!"
"AAHHHHHHH!!"
A wave of shouting erupted from all directions, but few of them just stopped running and pulled out their phones to start recording videos.
As for the one yelling, it was the driver of the dump truck who had just tried to ram into Luca.
"He was… an athlete or something?"
Maybe it was because he had planned to jump out at the last second, or perhaps it was just dumb luck…
Even though the whole dump truck was completely blown apart into pieces, the driver was still alive, but one of his legs was completely gone.
He was lying on the ground, bruised all over, screaming and rolling in pain.
Luca put his [Dominator] into the holster on his waist. He glanced at the crowd taking pictures but didn't pay them any more attention.
Samira, who had exited the vehicle earlier, now came around from the other side.
After walking up and delivering a swift kick to knock out the screaming driver, she approached Luca and quietly reported:
"The driver of the dump truck ahead and the sedan from the side lane both fled. The driver behind us seems to have hit us by accident..."
Then, she glanced at the unconscious man, "but this guy here is the only one left alive."
Luca nodded calmly.
After confirming that none of the surrounding vehicles were at risk of catching fire or exploding, Luca leaned casually against the car door and instructed Samira:
"Call the lawyer. We'll wait here for the police to arrive."
