Chapter 51 - Chapter 51 : When love goes official

Scene: Hotel Suite – The Morning After the Proposal

Bunny, wrapped in a cozy blanket, sat on the bed, still staring at her ring like it was a dream. Aarav stood near the window with a cup of coffee, watching her with a soft smile.

Aarav:

"You're going to wear that ring out at this point."

Bunny (smiling):

"It's not just a ring, you idiot. It's the beginning of everything."

Just then, her phone buzzed with a video call — from both sets of parents, together on a group call. Aarav quickly joined her on the bed as they picked up.

---

Bunny's Mom (smiling big):

"Good morning, lovebirds! Or should we say… fiancé and fiancée!"

Aarav's Dad:

"Congratulations again, both of you. We saw the video — you really did it like a movie, Aarav!"

Aarav (grinning):

"She deserves nothing less."

Bunny's Dad:

"Alright, let's talk wedding. What are we doing? Indian or Korean?"

Aarav (looking at Bunny):

"Actually… we had something else in mind."

Bunny:

"Yeah. We were thinking... let's start with a Western-style wedding."

Aarav:

"White dress, tuxedo, vows, flower aisle... the whole romantic package."

Aarav's Mom:

"Oooh! Like in those Korean dramas!"

Bunny's Mom:

"You'll look like a princess in a white gown."

Bunny (blushing):

"I hope so..."

---

Bunny's Dad:

"And then?"

Bunny (smiling):

"Then, we fly to India for a traditional Indian wedding. With all the rituals — mehendi, sangeet, pheras, everything."

Aarav:

"One wedding for the heart… and one for the soul."

Bunny's Mom (laughing softly):

"Double weddings? You two are officially dramatic.

Aarav's Dad (teasing):

"Planning two weddings isn't easy, you know."

Aarav (smiling):

"Doesn't matter. I just want to marry her. Twice if I have to."

Bunny (softly):

"Twice... and forever."

---

The screen filled with happy faces. Plans were already forming, dates being thrown around, excitement building.

Aarav pulled out his phone and walked to the window, then turned back to Bunny and said:

Aarav (on mic, smiling):

"But before all that, Bunny… I have one more surprise."

Everyone went silent when Aarav, standing with the mic in hand, smiled and said:

Aarav:

"But before all that, Bunny… I have one more surprise."

Bunny (confused, blinking):

"Another one? You already proposed… planned a whole birthday surprise… what now?"

He walked toward the center of the suite. A button was clicked.

The lights dimmed, and the huge curtains behind the couple drew back automatically, revealing a massive LED screen outside the hotel wall — lighting up the night sky.

On it, a short video montage started to play — clips and photos of Bunny from the time they met in college, her sleepy coffee runs, hidden selfies Aarav had taken of her laughing, staring at books, working, or even just yelling at him.

A soft instrumental melody played in the background.

Bunny (covering her mouth):

"What is this…?"

Aarav (walking to her):

"Every second I fell in love with you — I saved it."

Tears shimmered in her eyes as the last frame came up: a photo of them laughing together in the rain… with the words:

"Let's build forever. One memory at a time."

Then, behind them, the wall of the suite slid open — revealing a hidden rooftop space, covered in fairy lights and candles, with a dinner table set for two under the stars.

Aarav (whispers):

"Our first date as fiancés."

Everyone on the call clapped and cheered through the screen.

Bunny's Mom:

"Aarav, you're spoiling her for life!"

Bunny's Dad:

"Good. She deserves it."

Aarav:

"And so much more."

Bunny didn't say a word — just flung her arms around him and hugged him tight.

---

Later that night – Rooftop

They sat down for dinner. Soft jazz music floated in the air. Bunny played with her food, still trying to take it all in.

Bunny (looking at him, genuinely):

"How do you always know what I need before I do?"

Aarav:

"Because I listen. Even when you think I'm not. And I love you… even when you don't realize it."

She smiled, this time more shyly.

Bunny:

"What if I mess up something in the wedding planning?"

Aarav (grinning):

"Then we mess it up together. And laugh at it at our 50th anniversary."

She reached across the table and took his hand.

Bunny (softly):

"Let's make forever, Aarav."

Aarav:

"Already started, Bunny."
