Once Wenny stepped through the portal.
He quickly removed his mask.
"Stay strong, Wenny… I can't get emotional here at least not in front of them." No one was around to hear it.
He hadn't even noticed his finished cigar.
After Wenny's departure, silence settled in again.
"Let's go take a walk," Mim offered, glancing around.
There was nothing to see just an open, empty space stretched beyond it.
But he didn't want to embarrass her by pointing that out, so he simply walked beside her.
"You know this is a spoiler for both the readers and you but Sam isn't really from your universe."
Hearing that, William quickly opened his mouth to respond, but—
"But still, Sam thinks of you as a friend."
Those words brought a smile in Williams face, sad in a way he couldn't explain.
"Where… where is the real Sam?" he asked, his voice stuttering just to get the words out.
Mim looked at him with quiet pity. "I'm sorry. Wenny didn't tell me either."
"I hope you save him, even if he isn't the real Sam," Mim said, her eyes fixed on William.
William nodded firmly. "Even if he's not from my world, he's still Sam. No matter what. He'll always be my friend. That's how much I owe him."
Mim's smile beamed with pride. "I believe you'll make the right decision when the time comes."
After a long time, Wenny stepped out of the portal. Looking around, he spotted the two sitting on bedrock.
"Really? Enjoying this barren view?" His voice was full of amusement.
He brought out his screen and raised his left palm, still bleeding from a recent cut.
Wiping the blood across the screen, he began writing.
The ground beneath Mim and William transforming into an open green field.
A picnic cloth appeared under them, along with a small basket filled with food.
William wasn't surprised. He was getting used to Wenny's powers.
It wasn't extravagant, nothing too polished writing but it was decent.
Wenny quickly hid his bleeding hand behind his back.
He didn't dare approach them. Instead, he stood watching from afar.
Meanwhile, William and Mim talked about the past, more accurately spoiler chapters.
"Did you send Puppy the letters yet?" Mim asked, her voice carrying a deep, sorrowful undertone.
"Puppy? Who's that?" William blinked, confused.
'Maybe I'll meet a puppy and give him a letter?'
Mim smiled playfully, but there was still a faint sadness in her eyes. "Sorry. I gave him that nickname. I meant Puppet."
William instantly thought of the puppet who had sent him and Sam.
He hadn't ended up with Sam, but he didn't mind.
Here, he got to see his adoptive parents again.
Still, he wondered why Mim would suggest sending Puppet a letter.
"You know," she began, "a certain chapter was supposed to come much sooner, but Wenny never uploaded it."
She started telling him everything about that chapter.
William was overjoyed to hear that Ishan and Radhika were alive and doing well. Their company had grown, and Ganesh was now leading it.
He wanted to know what happened afterward. But Mim only glanced toward Wenny.
"Ask him," she said, her eyes finally smiling. "Only he can tell you."
William walked toward Wenny. As he got closer, a strong scent of alcohol hit his nose.
'Did he drink?' he wondered. 'No, his eyes are swollen. He drank to hold back his emotions.'
Then he noticed the bleeding hand.
'So that's what happened… He went through the portal, nearly broke down, drank to numb it, and used his powers to erase the scene.'
William stood silently in front of him.
"What do you need?" Wenny finally asked, not looking up.
William shook himself free from his thoughts. "Umm…" He wanted to ask about what happened back on earth but then hesitated. "Which chapter is your favorite?"
Wenny's eyes, half-hidden beneath his crooked smiling mask.
"Everyone of them I had hard time writing editing and even fixing them but it was worth it, even my endings are rough hahah"
Looking in an unknown direction "Sadly after I'm done editing I'll publish when I feel like it."
William looked at where Wenny was looking but saw nothing so he continued.
"At least I'm grateful, I know how people back on earth are doing."
Wenny only give a nod.
"I'll send you to different universes. Some of the MCs there might help you... or accidentally kill you."
Just as he was about to continue, Mim placed her hand on his shoulder. "I'll do it."
Wenny looked at Mim "Just don't go easy on him."
He stepped aside, giving one last look back at William and Mim before moving out of their way.
"William try not to die, from sparring with your mother." In truth Wenny's voice wasn't that of worry but excitement of an battle.
Meanwhile Mim started glowing turning I to an armor.
