Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: New Semester, New Me

"Lucy, Lucy, wake up! It's the first day of school. You won't like to be late," my mom whispered gently into my ear.

"Mom, can I sleep a little bit more?" I mumbled, barely opening my eyes.

"No. Go and take your shower now," she said firmly.

Ugh. First day of school and I was already dragging my feet.

I got up and went straight to the bathroom. As I stood in front of the mirror, I couldn't help but notice some… changes. My boobs had gotten noticeably bigger, and my overall body shape was more balanced. I looked nothing like the Lucy from last semester.

I smiled to myself.

The goal this term? Dress to kill.

Oh, and get the hottest guy in school. Obviously.

I had already changed my hair to a sleek French ponytail with bangs. It was giving classic babe — the kind you couldn't ignore in the hallway.

Let me tell you a bit about my life.

I have two best friends: Jessy and Jenny. Yeah, they're twins — and rich ones at that. Jessy's always been a mommy's boy while Jenny is a full-blown daddy's girl. But to me? They're my ride-or-die homies.

Jessy is insanely popular with the girls. He gets gifts from different girls literally every day. Most of the time, those gifts end up with me and Jenny. Weird, but true.

But back in middle school? Things weren't always fun. Me and Jenny used to get asked by older girls to deliver love letters to Jessy. It was annoying — especially because, to me, Jessy wasn't even that special. He was just… Jessy.

We met in middle school by accident. I had the exact same backpack as Jessy and accidentally took his home one day. He took mine too, and unfortunately, my easy-work assignment was in there — the one I had to present to the class the next day.

My mom had to drive me to their house to get it back. That's when I first met Jenny. She was playing alone in the compound when we arrived. She greeted my mom politely and asked me to join her. We clicked instantly.

And that's how it all started. Being friends with Jenny automatically meant being friends with Jessy too.

But here's the dark twist.

Neither me nor Jenny has ever had a boyfriend. Not once.

The only time I tried to kiss a guy, Jessy ruined it by popping up and saying, "Hey Lucy, Jenny's been looking for you."

I swear, I wanted to scream. "F*ck you, Jessy," I snapped. He just laughed and walked away. The guy I was about to kiss left angrily — and just like that, no first kiss.

And Jessy? Oh, he's had no problem making out with girls. He changes girlfriends like he changes clothes. Honestly? I envy him sometimes.

But this semester? Things are going to change. I'm done being the background girl. I'm done missing out.

This time, I'm taking the spotlight.

"Lucy! Lucy! What are you still doing in the bathroom? Jessy and Jenny are here for you!" my mom called from outside.

"OMG, are they here already?" I yelled back.

"Yes, sweetheart! Be quick!"

I stormed out of the bathroom — still dripping a bit — only to see Jessy casually sitting on my bed like he owned it.

My eyes widened. My jaw dropped.
