Warm sunlight filtered through the gauzy curtains, painting soft gold across the old wooden walls. Yun Lan stirred, her limbs aching in ways she both dreaded and secretly craved. Her cheeks flushed hot as her memory betrayed her—Leon's rough hands, his breath against her neck, the way he whispered her name like a man possessed.
She was tangled in the sheets, barely covered. Leon's strong arm was draped across her waist, possessive even in sleep. She moved slowly, trying not to wake him, but the second her weight shifted, his grip tightened.
"Going somewhere, wife?" his voice was rough, sleepy, and laced with dangerous amusement.
Yun Lan froze. "I... just wanted to get some water."
He buried his face in the crook of her neck, inhaling her. "Liar. You were trying to leave me again."
She shivered. "No, I wasn't."
"Last night wasn't enough to prove you're mine?" he murmured, his lips brushing her ear. "Your body screamed my name. You broke in my arms."
"It was... the tea," she muttered.
He chuckled darkly. "Stop lying to yourself. Even without the tea, you wanted me. Still want me."
Her throat tightened.
He turned her over, his knee sliding between hers, his mouth descending like a claim. But before it could deepen, a knock sounded on the door.
Yun Lan pushed him back, red-faced. "G-Get up. It's probably my grandmother."
Leon sighed, pressing a final kiss to her shoulder. "Fine. But tonight, you're mine again."
Breakfast was served in the sunroom. Her grandparents were already seated, smiling far too knowingly.
"Did you sleep well, dear?" her grandmother asked, eyes twinkling.
Yun Lan sat down carefully, biting the inside of her cheek. Her legs were sore. She avoided Leon's smirk across the table.
"Yes, thank you," she replied stiffly.
Her grandfather cleared his throat. "Leon, boy, you look like you had a long night."
Leon raised a brow. "The best night, sir."
Yun Lan nearly choked on her tea.
After breakfast, she excused herself to help her grandmother with the garden, hoping the fresh air would clear her head. The sun was already high, but nothing could chase away the memory of last night.
Her fingers moved through the soil, but her thoughts were elsewhere. Every brush of her skin against the petals, every gust of wind that touched her neck—it all reminded her of his touch.
Leon watched her from the porch, arms crossed, shirt half-unbuttoned as if to tempt her on purpose. His gaze never wavered.
The moment she turned to go inside, he followed her, like a shadow made of fire.
"Are you avoiding me, wife?"
Yun Lan kept walking. "I'm just helping my grandmother."
Leon caught up in two strides, grabbing her wrist and spinning her around. "You're hiding. You think what happened last night means you can run from me again?"
"Let me go" she snapped, trying to pull away. But his grip tightened.
"Then look me in the eyes and say it meant nothing."
Her lips parted, but the words didn't come. Because it hadn't meant nothing.
He stepped closer. "You gave yourself to me. Don't pretend you can erase that."
"But it doesn't mean I belong to you."
Then he pulled back, breathless, lips flushed. "Tonight. I want you again."
Yun Lan trembled, unsure if she was terrified or thrilled.
That night, she found herself standing in front of the mirror in her room, brushing her long hair, trying to calm her nerves. A knock came at the door.
She didn't open it,and Leon knock again, but she refused to open the door and she say" This is my room, you have your room"she said reluctantly
Leon said a little angry "Wife if you don't open the door I will say to your grandmother that your cruel with your husband"
" You wouldn't dare"
" Try me"
And Yun Lan not having what to do she has opened the door.
Leon entered dressed in black silk, dangerous and devastatingly handsome.
He stepped inside without a word, closed the door, and locked it.
"You knew I'd come for you,why did you close the door" he said, voice husky.
She said, barely able to breathe." Because I wanted to be single in this night"
He reached out and took the brush from her hand. "Let me."
He brushed her hair slowly, reverently. Each stroke felt like a vow.
"You don't know what you've done to me, Yun Lan. I used to be heartless. Now I ache for you in ways that make me feel insane."
When he finished brushing, he set the brush down and kissed her neck gently. "Come to bed. Let me be with you tonight."
And she went in bed with Leon beside her. Into the arms of the devil she had saved—who now, it seemed, was trying to save her in return.
The moonlight bathed their bodies in silver as he undressed her slowly, worshipfully. And this time, there was no frenzy. Only need. Slow-burning, patient, endless.
Leon kissed every inch of her skin like it was sacred. He murmured against her stomach, her thighs, her chest, "You're mine. My light."
And Yun Lan finally said „ Leon I don't want it, I don't feel well" and she said the true, the belly hurt her and her stomach was in pain.
"Do you said that because you don't want to sleep with me,you don't need to lie to me"
But then Leon saw blood on bed and looked at her " What happens to you,why do you bleed"and he looks worried and terrified.
" I... It's because of" but when Yun Lan wanted to say something she collapsed and no words come from her mouth
Leon panicked and took Yun Lan in his arms and he went to her grandmother to to find out what happens.
When he went to her grandmother, and her grandmother started to look at her and check her what she has, Leon was devastated when hears the truth about Yun.
What do you think that happened to Yun Lan?
