Chapter 22 - Completing First Side Quest

"Pardon, my Lady," said Nylon, waving at Tessa with a blank expression. "She's not responding…"

"Young Nylon," came the melodic voice of the glasses-wearing babe, Amary. "You needn't concern yourself with the 4th Young Miss. But is there something I can do for you?"

"I just came to report that I finished with the garden, and even expanded it by tilling and planting a seasonal flower that I believed the Young Miss would like," Nylon explained briefly. "Her favorite color is blue, so I chose 'Vertigo Daisies'—I hope you'll convey my apologies to her if this does not meet her expectations."

'Fufu~'

Amary was secretly deriving much enjoyment from this situation, especially when she realized that Tessa had long since been perfectly fine. Everything they were saying, she could hear, and right now, she was redder than a rose.

"Don't worry, Young Nylon, I'll make sure the Young Miss properly receives the message." Amary spoke while making an expression that told Nylon everything was normal, yet winked at Tessa while he wasn't paying attention. "On a side note, you were planning to head into town today, no?"

Nylon nodded. "The Young Miss told me of her taking a liking to the applecakes that a certain shop sells. I plan to go fetch some for her."

He had other motives, of course, but the Head Maid didn't need to know about them.

"A gift for the Young Miss, huh?" Amary gave Tessa a suggestive look, grinning. "Then you should hurry along now. It isn't good to keep a lady waiting for too long."

Nylon felt like he was missing something important here, but on second thought, it was none of his business. His only job was to keep the 4th little princess of the North Sea Family happy. This was also partly for the sake of his 1st Side Quest.

Namely:

{[Side Quest]} – [A Die-Hard Heiress]

[Objective: Obtain the absolute and unconventional favor and adoration of the 4th Young Miss of the North Sea Family, Tessa]

[Difficulty: D-]

[Reward(s): 15 Reward Wheel Spins, |Jagged Burner| Martial Spirit, 20 Low-grade Spirit Stones (Genuine), 5 Low-rank Body Tempering Potions, 10 System EXP]

This was the Side Quest Nylon received shortly after encountering Tessa for the first time. He had no idea how much further he had to go to complete the Quest, but based purely on how she treated him, he figured he was still a long ways off—

*Ding!*

[You have completed your first Side Quest—A Die-Hard Heiress—and received all relevant rewards!]

[Obtained 15 Reward Wheel Spins!]

[Obtained |Jagged Burner| Martial Spirit!]

[Obtained 20 Low-grade Spirit Stones (Genuine)!]

[Obtained 5 Low-rank Body Tempering Potions!]

[System EXP increased by 10 points!]

{[System Level (1): 35/100]}

"???"

As he was leaving the 4th Young Miss's Manor, Nylon was utterly shocked to discover that he had somehow already… completed the Side Quest!

How was this possible, though??

From their interactions alone, he was certain that Tessa hated him to his core. But if this were truly the case, why would the Side Quest have been marked as completed?

Not that Nylon was complaining, but it was a real mystery for sure…

Meanwhile, in the Manor, Tessa was rolling around on her large frilly bed. In her arms was a body pillow—one that she screamed into while kicking her legs.

"I love him! I love him!! I looove him!!"

Amary was watching the 4th Young Miss lose her mind, and couldn't believe this was the same person who treated every man with cold harshness. It was like they were entirely different women.

"My Lady, it's really none of my business, but you know that you're probably the only one that feels this way," said Amary. "However, if you'd maybe try talking to him properly or perhaps inviting him to go out somewhere, he might eventually feel the same way as well."

Tessa's heart-shaped eyes brightened at the words spoken by her Head Maid. "You're a genius, Amary!" She could suddenly be found holding Amary's hand, her excitement and affection bubbling over. "I should force him to go into town with me! As his Master, there's no way he can refuse, hehe~!"

"My Lady…" Amary was at a loss for words. She couldn't comprehend how the Young Miss's thought process functioned.

With a date already penciled down on Tessa's calendar, Nylon's fate on the 15th of the month had been decided for him. However, for right now, he was preoccupied with something more presently relevant.

"These are of the highest quality! Wow!!" An old man—an Appraiser/Shop Owner—was in awe while inspecting a |Diamond-edged Phantasmal Katana| that Nylon took out of his Inventory. Turning his head up, the Appraiser's eyes visibly shined. "How much?? Name the price!"

Although Nylon was a bit taken aback by the Appraiser's enthusiasm, he stuck up four fingers.

"4000 Low-grade Spirit Stones!? Sold!"

"???" Nylon was actually asking for 40 Low-grade Spirit Stones, but the Appraiser didn't need to know that.

He ended up leaving the equipment shop with 12,000 Low-grade Spirit Stones in a 10 x 10 cubic meter Spatial Ring. It was a little unfortunate that the Spirit Stones were of the Inferior quality, making them a hundred times less valuable, but even still, he profited the equivalent of a hundred and twenty System-sourced Low-grade Spirit Stones.

Adding onto what he acquired and multiplied from the Reward Wheel and Side Quest, Nylon now had over 400 Low-grade Spirit Stones of Genuine Quality!

The 6th Awakening Plane, Invincible, was within sight!

*Tak! Tak!*

Planning to ruin Nylon's pleasant mood was the sudden appearance of several shadowy figures traveling along nearby rooftops. Due to the uniqueness of their Martial Spirits, they were able to move undetected, even out in broad daylight.

They weren't the least bit worried about being spotted.

However… they should've been…
