Chapter 1 - Gun shot

*thud*

His massive and muscular body falls backwards.

The woman I used to know is frozen in place by the man's side, only her mouth and eyes move but I can't hear her.

The deafening sound of the first gunshot blocks out all sounds.

Step by step.

I make my way up to the platform where he stood. The woman, screams, begs but I can't hear her. I don't want to hear her, I wouldn't be able to do this if I heard her, I can imagine what she's saying, begging me to stop, to spare this bastard after everything he put all of us through. But whatever comes next is better than the alternative.

I look down at him, there's still life in his eyes, but he seems in shock. Good... I don't know whether he can hear or even understand what I'm about to say to him. But all that matters to me right now is that I say it before I finish him off.

"... I don't know what you expected, did you really think you'd take everything from me, and what? I'd just stay put and let it happen? You claim to be a genius, you modified your own body to be the pinacle of what it's naturally possible, and yet... Your genius did not foresee the lengths I'd go through. Your body could not even stand upright after being shot. When I thought I'd rescued Hana from your clutches, I told you, no. I promised you, I'd never let you do anything like that again."

With those parting words...

Blam! Blam! Blam!

...

I never cared about being a hero, I never cared about justice. That was their dream, my one and only dream was to support them, to be by their side in spite of how powerless I am. I would never, ever, let anyone, take them away from me, because I have nothing without them...

"Man... I can't wait for the prison to be finished. I'm tired of seeing the same villains wreck havoc again and again. It's just repetitive..."

A young man with black hair was fiddling with the baton in his hand, but his dark blue eyes were glued to the screen in front of him showcasing a enormous dark red figure tearing a convinience store apart.

"How are the corps handling it? Did they evac or have they put up defensive measures?"

He looks towards a woman with light blue hair tied in a ponytail, she was wearing a dark blue shirt and red tie, the black pencil skirt she wore accentueted her figure nicely, and the glasses she wore enhanced the professional look she was going for.

"Do you always have to be so non-chalant about serious matters Malik?"

She shot him a glare but his only response was to shrug his shoulders. Seeing this, she couldn't help but click her tongue.

"Tsk... You two should should really teach him some manners, or at leasts, how to stay quiet."

The secretary looks towards two young ladys in flashy costumes, the one in a white and blue with yellow stars decorating her outfit that displayed her lithe frame, sighed, shaking her head as she responds, her blonde twin tails swaying as she does.

"Believe me, I really tried Miss Lucia, I even asked my brother to help out but those two almost started fighting..."

"W- Well, he's always polite when he comes over, and often helps me and my mother out when he's there so..."

Spoke the other young lady, compared to the first, she was definetly curvier, her purple and black outfit with a stylized black hole symbol on her chest accentueted, her curves rather nicely. Her hair was black, straight and long. She was twirling a lock of it as she responded to the secretary...

"You two are too soft on him..." Miss Lucia shakes her head in disapproval before she turns her attention back to the screen.

"You three already know the deal, stop his rampage, subdue "Brickhouse" and make sure the soldiers restrain him properly. Move out!"

"Malik, movin' out..."

The young man said rising from his seat in a lazy manner, attatching his baton to his belt and picking up a small black shield that had been left by the door.

"Karen, out!"

The young lady in white floated from where she stood and rapidly left the room in a streak of light.

"Hana, moving out."

The young lady in black, also floated from where she stood but didn't leave the room with the same speed as her teammate.

"... Ah!"

The secretary Lucia, suddenly remembered something.

"I forgot to tell him, the soldiers have secured the perimeter... I just hope he doesn't get into a fight with them again..."

Lucia shook her head as she hurriedly walked to Director Dona's office.
