Chapter 14 - Weeding

"I'm in need of some exquisite antiques." Ezekiel had, of course, installed a voice changing machine into his mask, changing his voice into a smooth yet intense voice that seemed filled with power.

"How exquisite?"

"Anyone pleasing to the eye and capable of filling me with glee would do." The mechanic already knew that not anyone could just waltz into a slave market. There had to be a code which would differentiate actual antique buyers and people who wished to procure slaves. Thankfully, the drone was capable of recording audio sounds as well. So, with Laura's help, he knew the words to be said.

And it seemed his fake persona seemed to satisfy the requirement to present himself as a mysterious noble too, easily fooling Reed, who revealed a shine in his eyes as he bowed. "I shall lead you to our special batch then." He called over one of the store's servants and had him man the counter before he led Ezekiel and Vahn into a room.

The slave manager walked up to a painting before pouring his mana into it, allowing a hidden door open up. He then gestured to the door to follow him before he walked forward, going down a flight of stairs.

Soon the three reached an underground market place of sorts, much bigger than the store above. Walking around were people with masks donning their faces while they inspected the multiple cages before them, some containing beasts while most contained human adults, with some children amongst them.

A sense of disgust crawled into Ezekiel's body as he watched many masked people display visible amusement and lust as they openly checked on the clear skins of young women and even little girls. His dimensional ring flashed as a sword appeared in his grasp before he stabbed it into Reed's back, making sure to drive it through his heart.

The disgust within him raged even more as multiple of these people seemed to display even more amusement and even joy as they watched such a violent display before them. "I don't give a shit about gathering evidence again, Vahn." The anger in his words seemed to be deeper than the abyss itself as his Prototype Gun Model wrapped around his body. "Kill them all."

Vahn said no more words. His hands were soon covered with a pair of gauntlets while he revealed his killing intent, a scene of the possible future of his sister ending up in the hands of these disgusting men.

The guards had already sensed something wrong and quickly approached the duo but they struck first. The fight was going to be much harder if all the guards focused on the two of them, so the mechanic moved fast. 'Laura.'

(I've pinpointed the locations.) After her words, ten dots were highlighted on the visor's display, two being Awakened who possessed strength near that of Reed while the remaining eight were Awakened ranging from the low F rank to the mid F rank.

Ezekiel's eyes narrowed as he calculated while they ran towards him before raising his pistol. 'Precise Frenzy!' Psionic energy erupted from the miniature thrusters in his gauntlet, moving his hand around in a flurry as he fired his Pincer Gun, emptying the round within it.

Multiple pained yells sounded out as six out of the ten took a bullet to the heart, while the rest managed to move themselves on time and defend against the bullets hitting their vital organs.

"Tch." He clicked his tongue, realizing they had gotten too close so he switched to his Prototype Speedster Model. He dashed forward, weaving around the two high F rank Awakened who seemed to be Warriors and appeared before the weaker guards who still seemed disoriented. Immediately his short sword drew an arc in the air as it sliced through their necks, easily beheading them before he jumped up to dodge a fist that slammed into his previous position.

His eyes focused on the guard that attacked him, then on Vahn who was engaged with the second guard. His Windchasers stabilized his jump, allowing him to switch to his Prototype Impact Model. His gauntlet and boots changed once more, but the change was simply too drastic as a large one as the new gauntlet revealed its large size, its fists ending at the mechanic's ankles. If it weren't for the miniature Psion ejectors, Ezekiel would sure find it hard to stabilize himself.

His right fist smashed forward, clashing with the guard's and despite his invention's big size, the man still managed to endure the force behind the punch. Seeing this, Ezekiel's eyes flashed as he palmed to the side, smacking away the guard's second hand before smirking. His large gauntlet suddenly hissed, releasing steam into the air as multiple clanks sounds originating from the suddenly shifting gears within it rang out.

And as if reacting to the sounds within it, the golden streaks suddenly brightened while he raised his two arms in the air, two circular sections of the gauntlet spinning furiously as he did so. The ejectors began spitting out Psionic energy but the arm didn't seem to increase in speed and it seemed that the energy he had used up had no actual use. "Heavy Fist Technique. 1st Fist: Meteor's Descent!"

The moment before he smashed down on the floor, the spinning sections immediately stopped before slamming back into the gauntlet's structure, releasing a large amount of kinetic energy that caved it in and sent multiple shards flying into the air with the guard in the midst of them, his hands guarding his face from the flying rocks.

"Overload!" While speaking the mechanic quickly flowed into another stance, the golden lines on his gauntlets now turning into a fierce crimson as the whirring of the gears intensified and the circular disc like sections popped out again, spinning even more furiously than before. "2nd Fist: Impact Punch!"

The discs smashed back in as he punched forward with an overwhelming might, the air around his fist whistling and condensing around his fist while the guard roared, punching forward with all his strength as a strong sense of death crept into him.

Unfortunately, he simply had no chance against Ezekiel's inventions! The Impact Gauntlet smashed against his fist, only pausing for a split second before thoroughly shattering his bones and body together. Leaving him with a half mangled body with a portion of his skull caved in.

Vahn glanced over and smirked, deciding to also finish his battle. His hands suddenly revealed a shimmer as a layer of mana covered it before he punched forward, initiating his Air cannon. Yet instead of compressing the air and launching it, he let it rest on his arm, allowing his every punch reach a devastating level of brutality.

His body increased the stability of the technique since he wouldn't have to waste mana on maintaining its form mid-air and could instead focus on its power. Of course it was definitely not supposed to be used this way, and judging from Vahn's bleeding arm, this was true to him too. But the teenage boy's unconventional enhancement reduced the injuries to a minimum while his magic healed any wound that opened up the moment it did.

He leaned to the side to dodge a powerful punch from his enemy before clenching his fist and punching forward, the powerful energy within his Air cannon coated fist easily tearing through his opponent's defenses with the technique's shockwave properties and bursting his heart.

The man paused, a bit of shock on his face as he stopped moving before falling down to the ground with blood leaking from his lips.

Vahn watched the dead body for a while before sighing and glancing at his friend. Although he wasn't used to killing, he was not an overly righteous person who would believe in keeping scum like these men alive. Trash like these weeded out whenever found.

"Mission complete, let's grab some treasures and get the hell out of here." Ezekiel smiled while his eyes lit up with a greedy glint. Personally, these times were the best parts to destroying an enemy base. Looting.

"Greedy."

"Hey, it's our payment. But if you don't want, I'd gladly keep your share to myself."

"… Bastard, when did I say I wasn't greedy too?"

"Hahaha. Shameless!"
