Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: New world

Sitting on the train on the way home, Kylix felt rather tired. Being a 20 year old female who's main goal is to either seek amusement from the everlasting drama at the office or through novels, the latter being more interesting.

She's heading home after another tiring day of work, and while you may be wondering why at the age of 20 she's working and not at college, the answer is simple. Her parents are assholes, no real motivation to go to college when she is already smart enough to get a decent job. And add the fact that she's too lazy to actually go through four more years of studying, and you understand why she's now working full time at an engineering company, simply to pay her rent and lives a rather boring, dull life.

Kylix, though is not at all displeased with her predicament. As long as the entertainment is there, she is more than happy to continue living life this way. Though, she would appreciate having a partner or 2. So far she has no strong relationships with anyone, be it female or male. Or at least in her opinion she does not care much for others. Some of her friends though, might argue and say that they are quite close with her, unfortunately that's in their perspective. To her, they are simply another form of amusement to pass her time.

Anyway enough with the backstory and more into the actual plot.

The train jolts to a stop, shaking unstable for a moment from the immediate brake. I look up from my phone where I was reading a rather boring Manhwa. I look out the window questioning this rather abrupt stop, and find that we stopped in the middle of the tracks, on top of a bridge overlooking the city.

Everyone in the car seems to be having the same thoughts as me. Some looking quiet frustrated by this stop seeming to have important places to be. Me simply on my way home, was not worried about this stop and continued reading my book waiting for the train to resume. After a couple more minutes, some people started shouting not knowing what is going on, while I was just surprised they still haven't sent out an announcement of some sort through the speakers. 'I mean, at least give us a heads up about what's going on'. Sighing I decide to continue ignoring everything and finish my book, after all I'm so close to finishing it. When reading a book, no matter its quality (not so subtle hint that this Manhwa suck) I get immersed in the story and tend to ignore my surroundings. Plugging in my earbuds to ignore the yells of certain angry people, I get lost to the rhythm of the music and the books terrible plot. I only get out of this daze when a women gets pushed into my lap out of nowhere. I look up to see who pushed her only to find the car full of people fighting, and blood covering the ground. I notice a translucent blue screen with words on the screen and realize that while I was reading the Manhwa, something big must have happened. Like something novel worthy. Pushing the women off my lap, I quickly try and read the message on the screen.

[Welcome Players, to our very own new game! I hope this message finds you well. The world as you know it is undergoing a dangerous change. Your planet seems to have finally met the requirements, but do not fret as according to the laws, balance must be kept. So after this intimation to get rid of the weak, you will awaken with abilities that will allow you to survive.

Now, to begin, you must take 3 lives within the 1 hour time frame, should you fail, you die]

[Time Remaining: 19:59]

I smile. 'Wait is this like for real', this is like some deep novel stuff. 1. A message screen like in those system books.2. An ominous message, and 3. the promise of powers. Sign me up. While I'm not too keen on killing (meaning I have never killed before and would rather keep it that way) I feel like I don't really have a choice. I full on believe this message and definitely don't think its a joke, cause how else do you explain the screen huh? I mean like how do you fake that. If it is a prank though cudas to them for pulling it off.

Looking around the train, I can already see some dead bodies, people panicking while others are fighting. There are children on the train, most of which are crying and hugging their parents. Im just sitting here wondering 2 things, first of all, how am I left unscathed when its clearly been 40 min, and secondly HOW THE HELL DIDN'T I NOTICE. People are yelling and screaming, and the stench of blood is covering the train, and while I do get immersed in reading, I didn't think it was this big a deal. I'm annoyed that I missed the initial shock, and worried glances of others. That would have been so fun to watch, way better than the stupid Manhwa.

I can tell that some people are trying to stop the fight going on, it seems they still don't believe it. It seems that only the reason Ive been left unscathed until now is because the fighting is mainly happening in the corners of the train, that was until the woman I pushed off, was thrown on me. I look to find that same women tackling this guy, both of them throwing punches, but its the expression on their faces that are priceless. They must think they look angry or intimidating with their faces scrunched up like that, but honestly its hilarious, they look constipated.

Its while Im looking at whats going on in front of me when I remember something. 'This is like, so similar to that one novel', I go to double check the screen to make sure of my plan. I know for a fact I didnt transmigrate into a novel, cause like, all the people here are from my world, but my predicament is similar to that of a novel I read. Omniscient Readers viewpoint, he was able to somehow survive whatever it was he had to survive because I kind of forgot (its been a long time ok) but I know he was able to kill a bug and that counted as all that was mentioned was lives not human lives, so only having 20 min left I started looking around. I need to somehow find 3 bugs to kill, while also not getting killed by the physco's in here.
