Drip. Drip. Blood falls onto the floor as Celeste slowly begins to stand up, the sound of it hitting the small puddle is all she can notice.
Her thoughts are everywhere as she struggles for the first time against a villain.
I don't know what other skills could be useful in this predicament right now but I guess that's where winging it comes in.
A system message appears before his eyes as he stares at Iron Requiem. "Do you want me to pick a skill? ;)" a yes or no option appears right next to the question.
I don't understand if the system me as a new skill or one that I already have so this doesn't help me out much. No, wait this is actually perfect. I'll take my chances and just see what it can do for me here.
Y.
New Skill unlocked. [Critical Favor
Guarantees the next hit, event, or decision results in the most advantageous outcome (e.g., a hit becomes a crit, a coin flip always lands heads).]
Consider this as a lucky gift to receive from your generous system. ~
I don't see any major delays to this skill or anything that prevents it from being able to be used multiple times. I'll probably find out as I use it but this isn't the time for me to bring holding out.
Bang! Bang!!! Shots begin flying out from Iron Requiems pistols before he finally charges up two blasts.
"It was fun while it lasted but maybe it's time to end this little game of ours." Iron says with confidence as he aims at Saito.
Saito manages to avoid all the shots with lucky step as he rushes in towards Iron Requiem. He brings his fist up towards him for an uppercut [Critical Favor Active] his punch hits him with no problem and knocks him back onto his ass.
[Critical!] Well done.
I could see his helmet was having some sort of strange malfunction while he's laying there on the ground. That punch really must've did a number on him.
Meanwhile he's seeing every error possible appearing inside of his helmet.
[Visor error]
[Guns currently jammed]
[Suit reboot required]
"You've got to be shitting me right now." Iron thinks to himself as he lays there on the ground.
I don't think he's going to be getting up after that last attack so this battle is as good as over. This guy isn't going to cause anymore damage here today.
Saito rushes over to Celeste and she's just barely managing to keep herself upright. "You are making me look bad you jerk..." Fumiko says weakly.
He helps hold her up as he brings her towards the car. "You beat him so easily, thank you for saving me." Saito replies with a small smile on his face.
If I worry about all the blood then I'll start to shut down since I've not seen such a gruesome thing in a long time... I guess the streets with Vespera were pretty bad as well but this is different.
I didn't expect Fumiko to get hurt this badly so it's only natural for it to get to me if I think about it too much. I'll get her somewhere that can treat her, there's got to be a place close enough for us to get to.
[Mandatory Quest Completed]
Congratulations on surviving yet another mandatory survival quest.
Rewards: Second Tier of Good luck Skill Tree is unlocked. You've also been awarded 5 levels for this quest. Congratulations on reaching level 15.

Once I get her somewhere that can treat these wounds I'll be able to look at what the system awarded me properly.
"The commission will have the proper medical team to handle my injuries... It's in the...gps.." Fumiko manages to say before passing out.
Saito manages to get her in the car before she fully passed out. I haven't done much driving in a long time so this will be interesting but I can do it.
He turns the car on and begins to make his way back down the long road ahead of them, leaving Iron Requiem behind. He didn't have time to worry about that villain any longer since Celeste was in terrible condition.
Becoming a hero use to be such a shitty idea in my mind because the world makes it look like it's all just promotional garbage. Some people are real heroes while others just look the part and happen to have something that works.
But now I'm starting to understand the difficulties of the real hero lifestyle, especially when someone you care about gets hurt. None of this should be my concern but I've been spending a lot of time with her lately so it's impossible for me not to care.
She keeps pushing me in all the right ways and it makes it hard to decline the idea of being a hero. That's why I've started to embrace the idea of it more and more as the days go on.
He passes by various buildings with different posters of the various top ranking heroes plastered all over them. Each one a different ranking within the top 10.
Someone like me with a system is a lot different from those who have real power that they were born with. I'm not the same at all so is it even okay for me to embrace the idea of being a hero?
A giant tower like building is getting closer as he continues to speed towards it, this building is the hero commission building. One that is used for all major hero related situations and issues.
Screech!!!! He brakes in front of the building and gets Celeste out from the passenger seat.
Keep calm and bring her inside, I'm sure they will rush to aid her as soon as they realize who it is. Saito brings him inside and the receptionist immediately presses a button under the desk.
"I see we get to talk a lot sooner than expected." A familiar voice speaks from his left side.
Some sort of medics rush over to take Celeste from him. "We've got her from here sir." They say while Saito moved his arm away from her.
