Chapter 5 - [4] Sirzechs Lucifer

Uh, it was a terrible idea to swallow that thing without a second thought.

Like, now I have a tool to make myself stronger, but at the same time, it's kind of suspicious that he gave me a Twice Critical out of nowhere.

Could it be a tool to monitor me in real time?

—*Sigh* Well, at least this thing will be useful.

I looked around, noticing that I was right in my backyard, so I simply flew to my bedroom window and entered through there.

As I threw myself down on the bed, I stared at the ceiling with a complicated expression.

What will I do when I have to fight guys like Kokabiel?

They're in a whole other league. There's no way I can compete with a monster like that right now.

Well, that's if I don't use my knowledge to completely break the scale.

Like, now that I have this Twice Critical, I could try to stuff the corpse of a certain fallen angel (Raynare) and have a light energy battery in one of my Sacred Gears.

With that, I could even skip some of the hassle with Raiser and just destroy him with light attacks.

With Kokabiel, I absolutely need the Boosted Gear or the balance breaker for this Twice Critical.

I have too much to do in just a few months...

What a life I have.

--------------------------------------------

Well, I've been in this body for two full months now.

Everything's been pretty uneventful. I've crossed the park where Issei was supposed to be meeting Asia many times, and I still haven't found her.

It'll probably happen sooner or later.

The thing is, I've been training a lot with what little I have and a little help from Azazel.

For now, I know perfectly well that I can obliterate Raynare easily as long as I don't have Twilight Healing.

|At least I'm getting close to that level... | I thought, as I continued on my usual route.

I've been following a simple routine almost since I arrived: exercise until my body can't take it anymore, then rest, and repeat.

I've been home for very few hours because of it.

Still, it's turned out well, since I'm now much stronger than I was at the beginning and can match up with a middle-class Devil, at least.

Well, that's more of an assumption.

I've seen many strays who were once just lower-class become... Unusually strong.

Which I don't like.

Anyway, Rias stopped making me hand out flyers a long time ago, and I already have a few regular clients.

Damn, I wish that "magical girl" would leave me alone.

.

.

.

—And that's how I discovered my taste for tits.

It was already getting late, since the sun was already setting.

To pass the time, I was talking with Kiba. We both told each other anecdotes or simply talked about our hobbies.

Rias had told us to stay because someone important was coming.

It would have been nicer if she'd just told us to arrive at the club room an hour before that guy arrived.

Sigh, I want some coffee.

—Something's bothering you, Issei? —Kiba says, looking at me with a doubtful expression.

I'm brought back to reality when I hear this. I definitely need to stop thinking so much.

—Nah, it's nothing, I'm just curious about who that person Buchou's waiting for is.

Kiba nods, looking at Rias, who was looking at some documents.

And damn, those reading glasses look great on her.

—I share your sentiment. It's weird seeing Buchou like that.

We both sighed, and I turned my attention to Koneko, who was devouring sweets as usual.

—How come you don't get tired? You've been eating nonstop for almost hours now, —I said, pointing at her.

She raised an eyebrow, looking at me with an expression that conveyed, "What does this guy think he is?"

—I could ask you the same thing. Don't you ever get tired of sexually harassing-

—Since I became a demon, I stopped doing that. Stop accusing me without any basis.

I interrupted, now feeling somewhat irritated.

—I understand I was an idiot before, but now I want to be at least a little better, since I must have an excellent image so as not to embarrass my master in front of other demons.

She looked at me silently.

Noticing the tense atmosphere, Kiba decided to act.

—Come on guys, don't get all worked up. We all know Ise-kun's been trying to change.

Koneko sighed, going back to eating her sweets while staring into space.

Huh, what nonsense.

Wait, why is Kiba talking like there are several of us? It's weird."

Finally, after almost six hours of waiting here, a teleportation circle appears in the center of the room.

From what I see, it belongs to Lucifer.

....

Haha, the sis-con is coming to mess with my psyche, just what I needed.

What a son of a bitch.

-----------------------------------------------

—I heard my little sister got a new pawn, so I couldn't wait to meet him.

I looked at the newly arrived man, his crimson hair and handsome appearance, too handsome, I'd say.

His features are mostly European, which is odd because his sister is quite different, having certain Asian features.

Does this kind of thing work differently with demons? Curious.

I sighed inwardly, as I looked at the fucking Satan in front of me.

—Lucifer, it's an honor to see you in person. —I said politely, bowing slightly. —I am Rias Gremory's humble pawn, my name is Hyodo Issei.

Given his silence, he's clearly somewhat surprised by my behavior, since he surely did some research before coming.

About that, what are his true reasons?

I doubt it's simply to see a new piece; there's absolutely nothing special about me that would make this guy come to this point in the story.

I haven't even met Asia yet, damn it.

—I see you're quite polite; it's very different from what I've heard about you.

Oh, so you admit you're investigating me.

Nice gesture.

—Well, let's just say I can change a bit depending on the situation, Lord Lucifer.

I said, still maintaining that calm and polite facade.

Sirzechs sighed as he turned to look at his sister.

—Can I borrow him for a minute?

Rias nodded, not seeing any problem with the two of us talking more privately.

Damn, that sounded gay.

.

.

—You had an encounter with Azazel, explain yourself.

The maou's attitude changed completely, which made me chuckle slightly.

—He kidnapped me, isn't it obvious? The guy just took an interest in me or something.

I said casually, looking at him fearlessly.

The more nervous I look, the more this guy can ruin what I'm saying.

There's no way I'll reveal my soul, at least not until I get my dear nun.

—You still don't justify why you didn't report it to your King.

I heard Grayfia's fleeting comment.

—I didn't see the need, since Azazel is not making any moves on me. —I replied, trying not to make myself look bad.

There's supposedly a bad relationship between the factions right now, and it wasn't very nice of me to rush to the Fallen base just like that.

Sirzechs looked thoughtful, so I decided to be a little bold.

—Lord Lucifer, this could be an opportunity to improve our relationship with the Fallen faction, and even if it wasn't, I could try to extract information from them.

I launched my argument, already starting to think about the Maou's possible responses.

For a moment, I didn't receive a word in response, just a cold stare from the redhead.

—You're quite interesting, Issei.

I felt an ominous pressure almost knock me off my feet. Unconsciously, the gear Azazel gave me activated to keep me standing a little longer.

I looked up, thinking I was defiant for some reason.

—It's rare to see a young man your age with such... Analytical thinking. I expected much less from you, but apparently I should be careful about what you can do.

Blah, blah, blah.

He can talk all he wants, but the idiot doesn't know that I can turn into Azazel at any moment if he gets too aggressive."

—I-I'm just... r-rational.

I said, barely able to stand.

—Little pawn, I hope you're not thinking of doing anything funny."

The weight suddenly lifted, and Sirzechs left the room with Grayfia.

...

What a bastard.
