[Weapon To Synthesize: Twin Scorpion Blades[E+ Rank Weapon].]
[Would you like to use Weapon Synthesis?]
"Yes." The Orc answered after a moment.
The materials lifted off the ground, hovering in midair. The two tails hovered side by side, while the Cracked Stone Club rotated. The rope slowly came undone, causing the cracked rock to hit the ground.
The pieces of sturdy exoskeleton were broken down into bits and pieces. They rotated like puzzle pieces, before clicking into place around the components.
A blue light surrounded, flickering with electric tension.
Crack.
The Orc squinted. The branch had been broken in two.
With a sudden shunk, the weapons came together.
What hovered before him now were two straight blades forged from the scorpion's tails. The edges gleamed with a polished sheen. The tips were dull, but the sides were razor-sharp.
They were weapons made for cleaving, not stabbing.
They dropped to the ground with a heavy clang.
[You have obtained: Twin Scorpion Blades [E+ Rank]]
The Orc slowly reached for the weapons and gripped them by the hilt.
Holding them both, he stood in silence. His breathing finally began to slow, returning to normal. The whirlwind of hunger and madness had passed. Or rather, it had been momentarily forgotten.
'The exoskeleton was used to keep the tails and the branch together.' He stared. 'I guess not much branch is needed now. While my previous weapon was mostly wooden with the rock at the tip, each of these has little wood, most of them being the lethal parts of the weapons.' The Orc raised the weapons slightly. 'Just enough wood for me to take hold of them. The handle, or hilt.' He nodded to himself, having found the right words for it
The Twin-Tailed Scorpion's body was gone.
A metallic and bitter smell lingered in the cave.
The Orc leaned back against the wall. The cool stone behind him steadied his breath.
'I killed it. I really killed it.'
The scorpion that had split him in two. That had been the first to show him the bitter taste of death.
'I killed it...' He repeated to himself.
But that wasn't the unbelievable part anymore.
'I ate it. No, I devoured it. Before I knew it, I wasn't using my hands anymore. I was biting chunks off its body and…' The Orc smiled nervously. 'It felt good. It felt so freaking good.'
His hands tightened on the hilts.
'I'll never have to feel hungry again. I'll never have to starve. I'll never need to rely on another to feed myself.'
The Orc looked around. The remains. The rope that had allowed him to create the weapon with which he had killed Dummy. Newly-made weapons created by using the corpse of the one who had killed him. A full stomach.
'This is…' The Orc's hand slowly moved towards his humming sternum. 'Pride. Yes. I'm proud of this. But I'm…' He smiled and lowered his gaze towards the weapons. 'Not done yet. With these blades, I will…'
He blinked, and the Elf's voice echoed in his head.
You're not like the others-
"No, I am not, and I never will be" He whispered. "Just because I eat my fill like they do, just because I kill like they do, or just because… I feel this way about her, doesn't make me like them."
The Orc turned around slowly, twin blades in hand.
He took one last look at the blood-streaked walls, then started walking towards the cave's exit.
The night breeze was gentle and refreshing. The Orc looked at the map again. The red dot had vanished.
He stepped out of the cave and,
"That was nice to see."
The Orc's body suddenly froze.
He had just walked out of the cave. The voice came from behind him. Behind and above.
"But you will cause me trouble if you go wild like that again."
Just as the Orc was about to turn around, he noticed that the forest's darkness had been painted with a purplish hue.
"My sister could come running for you, you know?"
The night breeze had disappeared.
She was even more beautiful than he remembered. Or maybe it was just that their previous meeting's conditions didn't allow for him to truly appreciate her beauty.
Perched just above the cave's mouth, she sat with their legs crossed, feet dangling over the edge, and heels gently tapping against the stone. Each idle swing of her feet sent dust drifting downward.
Despite being seated, her white-feathered wings were spread wide.
Her pink hair fluttered despite the lack of wind, and her tanned skin looked incredible under the moonlight.
Once again, time had been stopped.
"We meet again, Virgin Orc." She smiled.
"Goddess." He nodded.
The Lust Goddess rested her chin in her palm. She smiled mischievously.
