Chapter 19 - The Rich Are Right Beside You!

"Erica, don't be shy. Did this guy just bully you?" Elton shouted excitedly at the girl.

The girl hesitated for a moment before gently shaking her head. She felt that being taken advantage of by Brentley today was already unlucky enough. If she let a scrap collector take advantage of her too, she would be a laughingstock. Besides, even if Brentley knelt down and apologized, it wouldn't solve anything. So, she decided it was better not to say anything.

"Did he really not bully you?" Elton was taken aback when he saw the girl shake her head and asked in confusion.

"No, let's go!" The girl shot Brentley a look of disgust before turning and walking away.

"Kid, just wait. I'll deal with you when I have the time!" Elton spat venomously at Brentley before turning to follow the girl.

After watching Elton and the others leave, Brentley reached for his phone to call Logan, intending to have Logan teach Elton a lesson. But after a moment's thought, he decided against it. Brentley felt it wasn't worth wasting his time on someone like Elton.

A few moments later, Brentley returned to the class. It was break time, and the students were sitting in small groups, chatting away.

Meanwhile, Colby and Ophelia were absent, their whereabouts unknown. Farrah and Taylor, however, were seated at their desks. When they saw Brentley enter, a peculiar look flickered in their eyes.

"Farrah, did you really sleep with Brentley today?" Taylor hesitated before whispering the question to Farrah.

Farrah bit her lip lightly at Taylor's words. She was at a loss for how to explain what had transpired between her and Brentley. If she admitted to sleeping with him, Taylor would undoubtedly mock her. But if she told the truth, that Brentley had taken her to a hotel room, made her strip, and then didn't touch her, clearly just to humiliate her, it would be even more embarrassing.

"Just worry about how you're going to pay me back that $2,000. You don't need to concern yourself with anything else," Farrah replied softly after a moment's hesitation.

Perhaps it was because Brentley had treated everyone to a meal at the Prosperity Hotel the day before, that the students' attitudes towards him had shifted. Some even greeted him, a stark contrast to the past when, aside from Graham, Tyree, and Felicity, the other students treated Brentley like a joke, thinking it was embarrassing to even talk to him.

Brentley returned to his seat and noticed Graham, Tyree, and others chatting with the classmates.

"Hey, did you guys see it yesterday? There's a new big spender on the seafood streaming platform," an excited boy with glasses exclaimed.

"I didn't catch the stream, but I saw the news.

They said the big spender, called 'Gone with the Wind,' tipped over a million dollars in one go in a female streamer's room. That's insane!" Tyree replied with a grin.

"I heard that the big spender did it because he got into a fight with Young Master Jordan," Graham added quietly.

"Hehe, so that Young Master Jordan from Sunshire City tipped a female streamer over ten thousand dollars and even taunted Gone with the Wind. But he never expected him to respond with a million dollars tip, shutting him up instantly!"

"Yeah, I wish I could meet a rich patron like that!" said a pretty girl with a curvy figure in the class. She seemed to be streaming too, but unfortunately, she had very few viewers, let alone wealthy patrons.

"I bet if you streamed without clothes, you'd get more viewers..." Tyree grinned mischievously.

"Get lost!" the girl snapped back, her face filled with disgust.

Brentley listened to the conversation and realized they were talking about his own tipping spree in Phoebe's live-stream. Little did they know, the wealthy patron they were discussing was sitting right next to them.

"Ring, ring, ring!"

A few minutes later, the bell rang, signaling the start of class. The students quickly found their seats.

The next two periods were math classes. Brentley had never been particularly interested in maths. He figured that as long as he knew how much money was left in his bank account, he didn't need to learn these useless things. So, he laid his head on the desk and went to sleep.

This behavior surprised Tyree and Graham, as Brentley had always been a diligent student in their eyes. But now, he was sleeping during class.

Brentley had worked hard before because he wanted to earn a scholarship. However, the scholarships were always pre-determined for students with connections, no matter how hard he tried. Now, Brentley didn't care about that small amount of money, so he didn't feel the need to pay attention in every class.

In the blink of an eye, the two lessons ended.

The students left the room one by one, heading to the campus cafeteria for lunch.

"Brentley, my mom just sent me some allowance today. Let me treat you to lunch," Tyree offered kindly, knowing that Brentley often spent his money treating others.

"No, it's okay. I'll just go home and eat," Brentley hesitated before softly declining.

"You're not coming to eat?" Tyree's eyes showed a hint of confusion. Normally, Brentley would have happily accepted such an invitation, but now he was turning it down.

"Yeah, I'm not really hungry right now," Brentley replied calmly.

Tyree looked at Brentley, hesitated for a moment, and then said softly, "Alright then, maybe another time."

"I'll treat you next time," Brentley said, gently patting Tyree on the shoulder before turning and walking out of the classroom.

Tyree and Graham watched Brentley's retreating figure, their faces filled with confusion.

"Graham, have you noticed that Brentley seems different lately?" Tyree whispered.

"Yeah, I have," Graham nodded slightly.

"Logically speaking, he only won a hundred thousand dollars. He probably spent it all, right?" Tyree said, frowning.

"Yeah, I have no idea what's going on with Brentley!" Graham replied, sounding utterly confused.

"Forget it. We don't really know what's up with him. Maybe Ophelia got to him. He'll probably be fine after a while. Let's go grab some food!" Tyree muttered, then turned and headed out of the classroom.
