Chapter 33: When the Dungeon Dreamed
Cyrus's fingers danced across the glowing keys—each tap deliberate, each stroke in perfect harmony with his thoughts.
The cavern's silence didn't end with a scream or roar…
It dissolved—click by click—into the rhythm of his mind.
Cyrus is sitting cross-legged on a flat rock, his back straight alinging with neck.
while translating the tome with one hand and.. eating a slice of pork with the other.
His eyes scan the page at lightning speed.
He finishes the meat, then lean a little towards his left and dips his fork into a "Dimensional Bowl" beside his left leg. Two slices quickly clinging to the fork.
He brings it to his mouth and takes a bite.
Without changing expression, he sets the fork aside and turns his full attention to the tome.
" Begin analysis and Auto-writing mode," he says in a calm, relaxed voice.
" Proceding with the command.... starting Analysis and Auto-Writing mode now"
The voice came from Morax—a specialized typing device created by a long-dead scholar.
Legends claim that the inventor made it to satisfy his obsession with multitasking, though the real reason remains unknown.
The Morax releases three wire-like tendrils, linking the stacked tomes.... Moments later, it begins translating.
Cyrus's expression reamaind unchanged. He's done this before—many times, even during war.
Then...
Cyrus stood up slowly, raising both arms above his head.
A deep breath.
Then—
Crack… crack…
His bones popped as he stretched, shoulders rolling, spine loosening.
The stiffness of long hours finally gave way, piece by piece.
He exhaled.
Cold air brushed his skin, and for a moment… he just stood there—breathing.
He rolled his shoulders, then turned back to the Morax. Gripping its side handles, he lifted it with a quiet grunt.
Sliding down from the rock, he walked toward the tent. Once inside, he set the Morax gently in the center and activated barrier wards around it—securing the device for uninterrupted work.
A quick tap on his ring, and three items appeared in his hand: two green potions, a blanket, and a small aroma burner. Cyrus returned to the flat rock, sat with his back resting against its wall, and stretched out his legs.
He inhaled deeply, letting the cold night air clear his thoughts. With slow, deliberate movement, he poured one vial into the other and watched as the liquids began to blend—slowly, gracefully.
"Like two lovers finally becoming one," he murmured.
The mixture darkened, shifting to a deep obsidian black.
"…and changing their fate forever," Cyrus said, eyes half-lidded with reflection.
A smile touched his lips, but it vanished almost immediately—like it never belonged.
He held the warm vial in his hand, feeling the gentle heat it radiated.
"It's like... it wants me to feel it," he whispered in a peaceful tone.
He brought the vial close to his face, letting its warmth touch his skin, then drank it all in a single gulp. The potion slid down smoothly, spreading warmth through every part of him before settling deep in his gut.
Setting the vial aside, he exhaled. The inner warmth faded, replaced by a subtle, creeping cold.
Cyrus chuckled softly, gazing at the campfire.
"It's going to burn out soon," he said, eyes drifting shut.
Takes deep breath.
"No need to refuel it."
Within seconds, sleep claimed him.
Scene shifts to Adrine
