Chapter 9 - HER BREAK-UP SHOULD BE MY OPPORTUNITY

Josephine would have to eat something so that she could take her drugs. The injuries sustained kept her in pain throughout the night. Just as I finished preparing breakfast and serving for ourselves, Christabel's call entered. She told me to see her at her home with immediate effect, sending the address just after the call. I tried to inquire to know what was going on, but she rather refused to tell me, insisting that I come. I assured Josephine that I would be back soon, and she would be fine too. However, there appeared some signs of sadness on her face when I left.

As I rushed over to Christabel's house, my mind was filled with worry and curiosity. What could be so important that she needed to see me urgently? I wondered if something had happened to her or someone she knew.

When I arrived at her house, Christabel greeted me with a pretended warm smile and ushered me inside. She looked a bit flustered, as if she had been rushing around preparing for my arrival. However, there appeared some signs of sadness and worry on her face, and it was obvious.

"Thank you for coming, Master B," she said, leading me to the living room. "I greatly need your presence so that I can ease my stress and emotions," she said sadly.

I took a seat on the couch, my heart beating faster with each passing second. I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was wrong.

"Is everything okay? "What's going on?" I asked, unable to contain my curiosity any longer.

Christabel took a deep breath before she began. Her eyes welled up with tears as she recounted her breakup story. Her voice trembled, and her words spilled out in a sorrowful torrent. I listened attentively, offering a sympathetic ear and a comforting presence.

As she spoke, her pain and vulnerability were palpable. I could feel her heartache and sense the depth of her emotions. My response was one of empathy and understanding, providing a safe space for her to express herself.

"I'm so sorry, Christabel," I said softly. That sounds incredibly tough. You're strong for going through this, and I'm here for you."

My words were genuine, and my tone was gentle. I wanted Christabel to feel heard, validated, and supported during this difficult time. Well, inside of me, it was a great opportunity. I will now be a full soul in her life, controlling everything. I meant everything would soon become mine. I didn't actually care to know what led to the break-up; my own question was that an opportunity had finally landed. But I was also worried a bit. Why would she want to talk to me when she knows that I'm in love with her? Why would she choose to call me? Does she have no friends? Just as we discussed her break-up further, I told her that I was already her new boyfriend, so she shouldn't worry. Her break-up might be to welcome a destined soul, and here I am. Break-up continues until you meet the real soul. I added.

The conversation took an unexpected turn. Christabel's words cut deeply, and I felt a sting from her rejection. I had hoped that her admission of love would be a green light, but instead, she clarified that it didn't mean she was ready to jump into a relationship with me and if she ever meant so, it was but only confusion.

My heart immediately went off, and I felt a mix of emotions - surprise, disappointment, and maybe even a bit of frustration. I realized that I had misread the situation, and now I needed to navigate this new understanding. Just as I became more speechless, gazing at Christabel as she was moaning about her break up, Josephine said that she had already left, and if I came back, I wouldn't worry about her. As I tried to make a comment, she hung up her call.
