Chapter 25 - Pa pa is a famous star (25)

Up until now, Zarukel had truly pleased Joshua. The boy looked at the items in his hands—a half-eaten ice cream, a massive cotton candy, and even a slice of cake! There were so many things that the poor map had been shoved to the side, looking utterly helpless.

Cale wiped the sweat from his forehead, completely losing hope that those two brats would come to rescue them.

Zarukel had no intention of saving them, and Joshua was far too easily led astray by him. It was hopeless. Look over there—Alice and Lorna had already gotten close to Layla and Lily. Maybe in just a moment, they'd arrive! Other people's children never let you down, truly!

Standing to the side, Adonis was also sweating heavily, but unlike Cale, he didn't seem the least anxious. The only concern he might've had was that Joshua ate too many sweets.

That wasn't much of a problem either—after all, with that tiny stomach,Joshua could only finish one ice cream at most.

That was what Adonis thought to himself, feeling a bit reassured.

[As expected of my male god—look how handsome and calm Adonis is!]

[I'd lick him anytime, anywhere, in any situation! Lick the baby, then lick papa again! I lick, I lick, I lick!]

[Some people seriously have no shame anymore, LOL.]

Just then, the livestream screen suddenly glitched—like a broken TV—buzzing and full of static snow.

Adonis couldn't help but frown. Meanwhile, on the other side, the cameraman was getting ready to approach the two kids and remind them to head the other way. They couldn't keep Cale and Adonis waiting much longer—celebrities' bodies were precious. If anything happened to either of them—especially Adonis—the production team would drown in a sea of spit! If every Adonis fan spat once, it'd be enough to make an ocean.

But right then, a tall man dressed in black suddenly bumped into him.

The cameraman frowned, about to say something, but was shoved hard to the ground before speaking! The force of the push knocked him flat instantly!

"Are you crazy?!" the cameraman jumped up and shouted, but the cloaked man was nowhere to be seen.

Suddenly, the cameraman felt terrible—his instincts were screaming at him.

He hurriedly searched for Zarukel and Joshua's figures, but it was useless. The two children were no longer where they had been—they had disappeared!

A few minutes earlier, Zarukel led Joshua by the hand, looking for a new place to play.

Suddenly, a large costumed mascot appeared in front of them.

The costume looked strange—a big head and a flared lower half with wide pieces of fabric that hid the legs. Maybe it was some rain-prayer mascot? Since when did the amusement park have costumes like this? Zarukel frowned slightly, feeling suspicious.

He wasn't sure if it was an illusion, but Zarukel suddenly felt a little dizzy.

Just then, he felt a heavy weight on his arm. Zarukel widened his eyes—Joshua had collapsed!

"You've got to be careful, little one~" The mascot stepped forward just in time to catch Joshua, and at the exact moment Joshua was seen, that thick fabric immediately wrapped around his whole body.

Zarukel's eyes snapped wide open—the dizziness in his head was forcibly shaken off in that moment of shock.

But before he could say anything, the same thick fabric also engulfed him. At the same time, a large hand clamped over his mouth.

The man's movements were incredibly fast—trained and highly capable. And Joshua and Zarukel were just kids, no matter how clever they might be. In front of an adult, they were still just children.

Zarukel tried to struggle, but it was useless.

Just before he entirely lost consciousness, he gripped Joshua's hand tightly—as if it were his final sense of security.

Back at the park, Adonis had suddenly stood up. The production crew was thrown into chaos.

Just as they were about to call the cameraman, his call came through first—his voice panicked and shaken:

"I got knocked down, and when I got back up, Joshua and Zarukel were gone!"

The director's eyes widened to the brink of bursting as he roared: "Cut the broadcast!"

He felt like everything was over. His eyes darted, not daring to look in Adonis and Cale's direction.

Unfortunately, Adonis had already heard everything.

 His gaze turned dark.

Just who the hell did this?!

Countless possibilities flashed through Adonis's mind, each making his heart tremble more and more.

"Call the police," Adonis said coldly. Then, he put on a coat and left the place—he seemed to have a destination in mind already.

Cale furrowed his brows, the smile on his face completely gone. He could already imagine the chaos erupting at home right now. Those kidnappers were truly bold—did they even know who they had just kidnapped?! Unforgivable!

As soon as Adonis stepped outside, he ran into Layla and Lily. They must have just received the news, too. Alice and Lorna were quickly brought to them.

The moment she saw Adonis, Lily rushed forward, not caring that she roughly shoved Lorna aside—she didn't care one bit.

"Adonis, don't worry too much. I'm sure Joshua will be fine! I'll help you find him!" Lily spoke with concern on the surface, but deep down, she was hoping Joshua would drop dead somewhere with his head torn off.

Adonis skillfully dodged Lily, his gaze completely void of warmth. He frowned and said coldly, "The police will handle the search. You should take good care of Lorna." With that, he turned and left, not allowing Lily to touch him.

Layla also frowned slightly at Lily and went to help Lorna up.

Seeing this, Lily felt even more irritated. Everyone was turning against her. Just wait—once Joshua disappears, Adonis will be down on his knees licking her boots! Destiny said so. Lily had that kind of intuition.

[What happened to the livestream? Why did it suddenly go black?]

[At first, it seemed like only Joshua and Zarukel's feed had issues, but everything shut down.]

[I feel like something happened to them... that rain-prayer mascot looked super creepy. Huhuhu 😭]

[Why isn't the show saying anything? @MandMM_official say something! What's going on?!]

[Netizens' instincts are always right. Praying for everyone's safety.]

Online, the storm had already begun. Public outcry spread at lightning speed, and the production team could do nothing but stay silent, now working with the police to find the two missing children as quickly as possible.

"Lily, Lorna wants to come to my place—do you think that's okay?" Layla asked, looking at her.

Lily no longer had the mind to care about Lorna. Once everything succeeded, Layla wouldn't even be in the same league as her anymore.

Thinking that Lily casually waved her hand in agreement.

Layla frowned slightly at Lily but said nothing. She took the two children and left. She had a nagging feeling that Lily wasn't in the right mental state. Being overly timid and withdrawn Lorna made her uneasy about leaving the girl in Lily's care.

Lorna clung tightly to Layla and Alice's hands, lips pressed into a thin line, eyes full of fear. No one knew exactly what she was so afraid of. Layla could only gently pat her back in silent comfort.
