Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: The Shishou's Suspicion

Morgan le Fay stood barefoot by the sea, gazing into the distance in a certain direction.

After watching for a while, she withdrew her gaze, a breathtakingly enchanting smile appearing on her face. She whispered to herself:

"This feeling is truly wonderful."

"I wonder what the Queen of the Land of Shadows will think when she later learns that the disciple she has wholeheartedly taught for more than five years is actually chatting happily with the future king?"

Thinking of that scene, a touch of delight was added to Morgan le Fay's smile.

She was increasingly looking forward to that scene...

That Trial Bridge was just something she had tampered with. Although Asher couldn't cross that bridge yet, as long as she supported the bridge with her magic, she could let Asher pass.

It was better to let him get to know her younger sister earlier and cultivate their relationship. It would be easier to get his help in the future.

After all, if she asked Asher for help without any emotional foundation, he might be unwilling in his heart. But if they had an emotional foundation, and he learned that Artoria would have to bear the weight of the entire country after becoming king, with Asher's personality, he would probably be very sympathetic, right?

"Lady Morgan." At some point, a subordinate walked up to Morgan le Fay, interrupting her thoughts.

He had just seen Morgan le Fay gazing at a certain place. Even without thinking, he knew she was definitely paying attention to that human, that child named Asher.

"Agravaine, didn't I say not to come in if there's nothing important?" Morgan le Fay glanced at the man behind her, her voice cold.

"King Uther requests your presence at the palace," Agravaine said softly.

"I understand, you may withdraw for now," Morgan le Fay replied calmly.

Without even needing to think, she knew it must be because of the wandering ghosts in Camelot recently that he had specifically summoned her to the palace.

Agravaine still didn't leave, his mouth slightly open, looking like he wanted to say something but stopped himself.

"Are you perhaps thinking that I'm being too partial to Asher?" Although Morgan le Fay didn't turn around, she seemed to see through Agravaine's thoughts and spoke faintly.

"Yes," Agravaine said softly, "In recent years, you have been teaching your powerful abilities to a callow youth, and before that, you had never even met him. This is very puzzling."

"He is an important pawn to restrain that person in the future," Morgan le Fay said softly.

"That person..." Agravaine hesitated for a moment. "Are you referring to Artoria?"

Morgan le Fay didn't comment, just nodded, looking towards the vast distant sea.

"If that's the case, why him... and not someone else?" Agravaine lowered his head, a hint of dissatisfaction in his eyes.

Morgan le Fay shook her head. "Do you really think his magic was taught by me or the Queen of the Land of Shadows, Agravaine?"

"That child's magic, the mystery surrounding him, were all things he had already mastered before I even knew him. Of course, these things were definitely not taught by Scáthach."

Her voice was firm as she spoke, as if stating something ordinary.

Agravaine's expression froze slightly. "What's going on?"

Morgan le Fay turned her head, her face veiled, but it couldn't hide her noble aura. Her eyes were calm and held an intriguing light. "Who knows?"

---

After sparring with Artoria for a while, Asher lay on the beach, letting the seawater wash over his body, like a real dead fish.

"It's a bit of a pity. If your stamina were a little better, you might have a chance to defeat me," Artoria sat down beside Asher. "I'm looking forward to seeing if the black dragon essence blood will give you the power to fight me."

"I can't win," Asher shook his head. "There's a gap in talent and effort. If I can defeat you one day, it'll probably be because I'm using cheats."

There was a hint of a joke in his words at the end, but he was serious.

It was indeed the case. Artoria only slept for three hours a day. Her Red Dragon lineage had made her physique extremely strong, and at the same time, she trained diligently. Compared to this girl beside him, his daily training seemed insignificant.

Although Asher also needed to train every day, it was far from as exaggerated as this seemingly delicate girl.

"But if possible, I really hope to win against you once," Asher added.

Artoria nodded lightly. "I look forward to that day."

"Come on, let's spar for a while longer, then I should go back," After resting for a while, Asher stood up again, a fighting spirit in his eyes. "Maybe I'll win this time?"

Artoria was taken aback, then a smile appeared on her face, her eyes full of fighting spirit. She raised the wooden sword in her hand. "Come on!"

---

Asher walked through the Land of Shadows castle, clutching his forehead. The passing guards, seeing his staggering appearance, hurried forward to help him, but Asher waved his hand, indicating that he was fine.

So, the guards watched Asher walk towards his room.

"That person is too competitive, isn't she?" As soon as Asher lay down on the bed, he felt like his whole body was about to collapse.

Earlier, he had said to Artoria, "Maybe I'll win this time?" The competitive girl had immediately taken it seriously and fought him with all her might. Then, when the wooden sword hit Asher's forehead and she saw him fall straight onto the beach, she realized she might have gone a bit too far and apologized, saying, "Sorry, I thought you said that because you had a trump card."

Naked mockery... it was simply naked mockery!

But the upright Knight King felt that what she said was the truth. She really thought so at the time, believing that Asher had said those words with full confidence, not realizing he was just boasting.

Actually, in terms of combat experience alone, Asher was no worse than the current Artoria, and he also used Rune magic very skillfully. But unfortunately, his physical strength was really too poor.

To describe it with game data, if Asher's stamina was one hundred, then Artoria's would be one thousand or even ten thousand.

"Which person is very competitive?" A voice came from beside him.

"It's Artoria..." Asher's voice suddenly stopped, and he turned his head to look.

Scáthach sat with her legs crossed, her red eyes reflecting Asher's surprised expression. She continued, "Which person did you say was very competitive?"

"Uh... Big Sister, Big Sister Uathach," Asher said. "I feel like she's quite competitive."

"Her... if she were competitive, she wouldn't often be lazy and avoid training, would she?" Scáthach raised her head, as if remembering something.

Uathach's strength was the best among the people she had taught besides Cú Chulainn, and it could even be said that she was on par with Cú Chulainn. But unfortunately, she was too lazy. She had talent, but she often slacked off.

Even so, none of the diligently training disciples could defeat her.

One could imagine how high her potential would be if the girl could train seriously every day.

"Speaking of which, Shishou, why are you in my room?" Asher raised his head to look at Scáthach. Scáthach was wearing her usual slit skirt, and her legs covered in purple stockings were particularly eye-catching. Asher had to look away.

After all, as an excellent warrior and part-time mage, Scáthach was very sensitive to gazes. And now that he was the only one in the room, if she discovered his eyes wandering on her legs, it would be a big problem.

If he was discovered... given Shishou's personality, he wondered if she would directly make him train until he died.

Thinking of this, Asher simply lowered his head and didn't look at her.

Scáthach casually glanced at Asher, a faint smile inadvertently appearing in her red eyes. Then, she placed the small prepared bottle in Asher's hand.

"The black dragon essence blood has been refined. I just came to give this to you."

Asher looked down at the small bottle in his hand, and the golden liquid inside, his eyes slightly dazed.

So that's how it was...

In this way, it could be explained.

However, just as Asher thought of this, he heard Scáthach's voice continue, "By the way, you've been coming back so late recently. After your training, have you been secretly going somewhere else?"

As she spoke the last words, her gaze was fixed on Asher, as if she could see through everything, causing Asher's back to break out in a cold sweat.

Having a good relationship with people from a neighboring country... would that count as fraternizing with the enemy?
