Cherreads

Chapter 30 - This Woman Doesn’t Know What’s Good for Her

Her own coquettish voice made Rachel feel nauseous, feeling suffocated early in the morning.

Kellan watched her fawning over him, feeling pleased. His lips curled up in a wicked smile. She was becoming more and more capable. He let go of her hand.

"Come down after you've freshened up," he said, striding downstairs with long legs and a happy heart.

As Rachel watched his tall figure disappear, her eyes darkened with bitterness at the corner.

Aunt Ives was shocked to see the young master's relaxed and happy smile. It had been so long since he had smiled like that.

That woman was indeed extraordinary. But she was really likable!

Rachel freshened up upstairs, and Cora woke up too. She had slept well and was in a good mood. Rachel waited for Cora to finish washing up, and they went downstairs together.

Cora was looking forward to what delicious food they would have for breakfast!

When they got downstairs, Kellan was sitting at the table reading the newspaper. He had been waiting for them for a while.

"Daddy!" Cora ran out of Rachel's arms and into Kellan's.

Kellan was taken aback for a moment, then he gently picked up Cora. The moment he held her in his arms, an electric shock surged into his heart.

It was the feeling of love, soft as a feather floating in her heart, yet heavy as Mount Tai.

For Kellan, it was definitely the first time in his life.

The nearby servant was stunned, his mouth wide enough to fit a goose egg.

"Daddy!!!"

As she saw Kellan's gentle and even pleasing demeanor, how could this be possible?

This was the same Young Master Elliott and CEO Elliott they had met before!!!

Could this really be the CEO's illegitimate daughter!!!

The CEO never got close to women, but now he brought back a 5-year-old daughter with him. It was truly jaw-dropping.

Only Aunt Ives remained somewhat calm.

This little girl looked quite a bit like the CEO when he was young, and the more she looked, the more she resembled him. Perhaps she really was his flesh and blood.

Rachel looked at Cora and let out a sigh. Cora was always well-behaved, except for this one thing.

She refused to listen to her.

She had emphasized to her last night that she couldn't call Kellan "daddy" anymore, but as soon as they got up, she forgot and was still so intimate with him.

Children's worlds were always so simple, and perhaps this was the life Cora dreamed of, having a dad and a mom, and being together like a family.

But Rachel knew deep down that this was only superficial. Beneath his elegant and refined exterior, there seemed to be a bottomless power that was about to swallow her up.

They couldn't possibly be a family!

She could only work harder to earn money and leave here before the city sank completely.

"Cora, come over and have breakfast," Rachel walked over and reached out to hug Cora.

Cora obediently reached out and hugged Rachel, looking up at her dark eyes with concern.

"Mommy, did you not sleep well last night?"

Rachel was stunned. She slept with the devil, how could she sleep well!

She had stayed up all night, and when she was washing up in the morning, she saw the big dark circles under her eyes.

But Rachel couldn't say anything. She hooked her lips and smiled a little. "Mommy's just tired."

"Why don't you sleep with me? You won't be afraid of the bed if you sleep with me," Cora's childish voice was sweet and soft.

"I…" Rachel hesitated, not sure what to say. She placed a bun in Cora's bowl and pushed the milk closer to her.

"I also want to sleep with you, but I just got painted as a perverted jerk and a molester this morning. Just thinking about it makes my face turn red," Kellan's lips curled into a faint smile as he watched the scene unfold with interest.

Cora took a bite of the bun and suddenly remembered something. She clapped her hands together and said, "I know, Mommy must have slept with Daddy."

Rachel choked on her milk, almost spitting it out. Kellan stayed calm, clearly enjoying her embarrassment.

He elegantly picked up a steamed bun and took a bite, his eyes glinting with amusement.

He was holding back his laughter, finding the two of them entertaining.

Rachel shot him a silent glare and picked up her milk to drink.

"After breakfast, you'll take me to the company," Kellan said, hooking his lips into a business-like smile.

"Okay," Rachel replied with a small nod. It was her job.

She got up to get ready, while Cora took her water bottle and left. Rachel noticed Aunt Ives talking to Cora and paused for a second.

It didn't seem right to bring Cora to the company, especially when Aunt Ives was at home. She seemed kind and trustworthy, so it felt safe to leave Cora with her.

"Bring Cora with us," Kellan said, raising an eyebrow at Rachel. His voice was cold and magnetic, making it hard to guess what he was thinking.
