Chapter 2 - The Birth Of Protectors

## **Chapter Two: The Birth of the Protectors**

Snow crunched under Clark Croft's boots as he descended the last slope of the Shivalik Hills. Weeks had passed since he fled into the mountains after his mother Tanvi's sacrifice. He had survived on roots, herbs, and mountain water. Yet, something deeper than survival had kept him moving — a *pull*, like magic humming in his blood, leading him further north.

Clark didn't know it, but his awakening powers had sent a signal across the world — an ancient beacon from his mother's bloodline, calling others like him.

### **The Encounter in the Forgotten Temple**

His journey ended at an old, ruined temple in Bhutan, surrounded by stone statues and faded scriptures. It was there that he first saw her — a girl no older than him, with lightning flickering in her eyes.

Her name was **Zaya**, a Mongolian girl who had been drawn to the same temple by dreams of thunder and war. She was fierce, suspicious — but not cruel.

They barely had time for names when the ground trembled.

A figure emerged from the darkness of the temple: a creature made of molten obsidian and smoke, cloaked in shadow. It was an **Immortal Demon**, known only in lost texts as **Kavragh**, a scout of Ashkara.

Zaya attacked first, hurling bolts of thunder at its chest. Clark followed instinct — summoning wind to deflect the demon's fiery blast.

They fought side by side — two strangers united by magic.

### **The Arrival of More**

As they battled, reinforcements arrived.

* **Veer**, a strong-built boy from Rajasthan, leapt from a nearby ridge, his fists ablaze with fire. He had been tracking the same creature since it destroyed a village near the Thar Desert.

* Then came **Amira**, a quiet Egyptian girl with sharp eyes, who conjured walls of shifting sand to trap the demon's limbs. She had seen this exact fight in a dream.

* A soft gust revealed **Luan**, a Tibetan boy who stepped out from the shadows behind the demon, landing a stealth strike with a blade made of pure moonlight.

* From the east forest, a girl named **Kaia** from the Philippines, arrived mid-storm. She controlled water and mist, her hair wet and floating like seaweed.

The final arrival shocked them all.

* **Ethan**, a British boy with mysterious origins, descended from the air itself, creating a shockwave of pure energy. He didn't speak much, but his aura crackled with raw, untamed magic.

Seven gifted teens — from seven lands — drawn by fate to the same battle.

### **The Demon Falls, The Bond Forms**

Their combined assault overwhelmed the immortal demon. Kavragh roared in fury, trying to escape, but Clark stepped forward and released a wind-laced blast of light. It struck the demon in the chest, shattering its form into cinders.

Silence fell.

Breathing heavily, they looked at each other — none of them truly understanding what had just happened. But something deep had connected them.

Clark broke the silence.

> "We're not here by chance. That thing… it came for all of us. We need to know why."

Veer nodded. "My grandfather spoke of protectors. Warriors chosen by magic, born once every few centuries to stop the rise of demons."

Amira's voice was calm. "I've seen us… together. In dreams. Fighting greater darkness."

Zaya, fierce as always, crossed her arms. "So what now?"

Clark looked around, sensing the weight of what they had done.

> "We form a group. A pact. We watch each other's backs… We train… We fight. Not just to survive, but to protect others who can't."

Kaia smiled gently. "We could be… Protectors."

The word echoed.

Even Ethan — quiet and cold — gave a rare nod.

### **The Protectors Are Born**

And so, the Protectors were formed — a secret group of seven teens across the globe:

1. **Clark Croft (India/UK)** – Wind and Light.

2. **Zaya (Mongolia)** – Lightning and Sky.

3. **Veer (India)** – Fire and Strength.

4. **Amira (Egypt)** – Sand and Prophecy.

5. **Luan (Tibet)** – Shadow and Stealth.

6. **Kaia (Philippines)** – Water and Healing.

7. **Ethan (UK)** – Energy and Time echoes (still unknown powers).

They took refuge in an ancient sanctuary under the protection of a monk called **Master Shoulin**, who revealed their destiny — that they were born under a rare celestial alignment called the *Tri-Star Eclipse*, destined to be Earth's last defense.

But peace never lasts long.

### **A New Enemy Watches

Far beyond the icy winds of the Himalayas, in a forgotten land scorched by fire and ash, stood a fortress carved into the side of a dead volcano — **Vorgoth Keep**, the resting place of ancient demons.

Inside its dark throne hall, a towering figure cloaked in smoke and bone observed a flickering pool of molten glass. Images of Clark and the other six flickered across its surface.

This was **Ashkara**, the Demon General — second only to the Demon King himself.

His voice, like cracking stone, filled the chamber:

> "So… the heirs of light have awakened. Seven flickers of hope in a dying world."

A lesser demon knelt beside him, shivering under his gaze.

> "Shall I send the Legion, my Lord?" the servant asked.

Ashkara raised a clawed hand to silence him.

> "No. We will not crush them yet… We will corrupt them."

He turned and faced a chained figure hidden in the shadows. The being's eyes glowed with a corrupted version of divine light. A stolen magic.

> "You know what to do," Ashkara whispered to it.

> "Find the weakest one… and make him doubt."

The chained figure vanished in black smoke.

### **Meanwhile, in the Sanctuary**

High in the Tibetan cliffs, under the protection of **Master Shoulin**, the seven Protectors sat around a fire.

It was a sacred place — an ancient sanctuary known as the **Temple of Echoing Light**, invisible to mortals and protected by elemental wards.

Zaya sharpened her lightning-blade beside the fire. Amira meditated in silence. Luan stood atop a stone ledge, watching the stars. Veer trained with Clark, their powers growing more synchronized each day.

Kaia healed a wounded hawk, humming a lullaby from her childhood. Ethan, as always, stood slightly apart, staring at the fire like it whispered things only he could hear.

Master Shoulin stepped out, holding a worn scroll sealed in golden thread.

> "It's time," he said.

> "The prophecy has awakened fully. You must now retrieve the **Starfire Keystone** — an ancient relic that amplifies your powers and seals demon gates."

Clark stood. "Where is it?"

> "Hidden in the heart of the **Forest of Whispers**, a place alive with illusion, where even your thoughts can become enemies. But beware… the keystone awakens not only protectors — but those who desire to corrupt light into shadow."

The group exchanged glances. The weight of destiny sat heavier now. But they were ready — or so they believed.

### **A Flicker of Darkness**

That night, as everyone rested, Clark wandered near the cliff's edge, questioning his place. "Why me?" he whispered to the wind.

And from the shadows behind him, a faint voice answered.

> "Because you're more powerful than you realize… and more dangerous than they know."

Clark spun around — no one there.

Just the wind.

Or was it?

A faint, ghostly silhouette — familiar eyes, the shape of someone he could almost remember. But not quite.

> "Soon," the voice echoed.

> "Soon you will know the truth… about your birth… and what your mother never told you."

Clark's breath caught.

The voice was gone.

### **End of Chapter Two**

And so ends the second chapter — not with peace, but with purpose, prophecy, and the silent steps of a new threat that walks closer to the Protectors each day. Clark is no longer alone — but the future holds secrets that may shatter the very bond they've just begun to form.

**Next Chapter: "Whispers of the Forest"**

The Protectors enter a realm where their fears become real, and one of them begins to fall into darkness…
