W-where am I?
I remember walking on the street, going to my house. Then, all of a sudden, zip, I was brought here. I have no idea where "here" even is.
I'm in a big, empty space. Everything is pure black. I can't see a thing. I can't even see myself! Wait a second... what do I look like right now? And what is my name?
Oh no! Why can't I remember anything about myself? This is bad! Really bad!
"Good news! You have been chosen to have an adventure in another world! The system is getting everything ready. Please wait a little while we prepare the information you need."
A see-through blue window, like one you see in video games, popped up in front of me.
Before I could think more about it, the words on the window changed.
"The system is now ready. You are one of the lucky few people picked by chance to join this special, once-in-a-lifetime event. You will be sent to a random world from an anime story. You cannot change this, so don't even try to complain. It won't work."
"But, we know you didn't ask to be chosen. So, we will give you some good things to start with. You can choose what kind of body you want for your new life. You will also get two special skills from other stories."
"Listen carefully! What kind of being you become and where you are born will be chosen by chance. We will change any powers you pick so they fit the world you go to, or make them similar. Also, we must tell you: you will be given a list of jobs to do when you are born again. If you finish them, you will get rewards. If you fail, you will die right away."
"We hope you enjoy this chance to live a bigger, better life."
Okay, let me try to understand my situation. I have to do these jobs, or I will die. I was taken here, and I didn't want to come. And they just threw all this news at me, just like that.
Sigh.
I must have made some god really angry to get this. If I could remember who I was before, I would be super mad right now. But since I don't have any memories of myself, I just feel... annoyed. Like when you can't find your keys. Well, it's not like I have much of a choice, do I? So, I should try to get the best options I can.
First, I should try to get a human body as the starting point for whatever I become. Only the being that brought me here knows what world I'll end up in, but most anime stories have humans. And humans usually grow and get stronger the fastest in most stories.
And if I'm going to choose a human, I'll choose the best one: Joseph G. Newton, the perfect human from the story Terra Formars. People said he was perfect in every single way. His strength, his speed, how smart he was, and his gut feelings were all top-level. He was good at anything he tried to do. Having a body like his would definitely be interesting and very helpful.
Now for the special skills. I think the Black Heaven and Earth Technique from the story The Breaker would be a safe pick. It's the best skill for spreading power all through your body. If the world I'm sent to has magic, this would help me learn and use many different powers much better than anyone else. And even if it's not a magical world, I'll still get a very strong body because this skill helps with that too.
And for my last skill, I think I'll go with thought partitioning. That's a skill from the Atlas magic group in the Nasu-versestories. It's not a fighting spell, but being able to split my mind into different parts and focus on many things at the same time is just too good to pass up. This seems like a smart choice.
After I thought about what I wanted, the 'system' showed a new message:
"Please wait while we check your requests... Request accepted. Your new life will begin now."
And with that, my old life, whatever it was, completely ended.

In the new world:-
"Master, congratulations! The baby was born, and it is a healthy boy!" An excited maid came running out of the room. Just moments before, the room had been filled with the sounds of a woman groaning and sometimes crying out in pain. But now, it was filled with the sound of a baby's loud cry.
"HAHAHA, finally! My heir has been born! I finally have a child to carry on my name!" The lord of the house said, his voice booming with laughter. He could finally show off to his friends. They loved to tease him because he didn't have any children yet, and also because he married a woman who was half-human. Well, he always punched anyone who dared to say anything mean about that. He loved his family very much, and now, it FINALLY had a new member. "Let's go in there, Chisa! I can't wait to see my son!"
"As you wish, Lord Barbatus," the maid, who was now called Chisa, said as she hurried to follow her master's steps.
When the two of them arrived in the room, they were greeted by a woman with a tired but happy smile. She was looking lovingly at a small baby held carefully in her arms.
It was a wonderful scene, almost like a beautiful painting. After looking at the baby for a few more seconds, she said, "He is perfect. So beautiful and tiny. What should we name him, my dear?" The woman asked, barely moving her eyes away from her child.
Lord Barbatus walked closer slowly, as if he was afraid he might startle the baby. When he got a good look at the baby's tiny face, a big smile spread across his own. "Joseph," he said, his voice deep and soft something rare for him, as he loved to yell and talk loudly all the time. "Let's call him Joseph Barbatus."
"Joseph. I like it too," the woman said with a gentle smile. "Joseph, this is your name from this day forward. Joseph Barbatus, the next leader of the house of Barbatus, and someone that will grow up to be amazing."
The child heard this, or maybe he was just feeling the newness of the world. He started crying again, his little lungs showing much more strength than most people could ever believe.
