Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Winds of Fortune

Lumine sat on the shop's sofa, flipping through One Piece: East Sea Saga. The comic's fast-paced story kept her attention—Luffy and his crew chasing after the One Piece through battles, strange islands, and chaotic adventures.

She could relate to them. Their determination reminded her of her own journey. But when she saw their wanted posters, she frowned.

"Pirates or not, I'd rather not end up with a bounty while looking for Aether," she muttered.

The idea of Devil Fruits was especially interesting. Their strange powers reminded her of the Visions back in Teyvat. Some of the abilities seemed almost too good to be true.

"What if I could get one of these powers?" she whispered to herself.

Even without a reward, she felt like her Mora had been well spent. The story alone was worth it.

Suddenly, she looked up and glared at Harlan. "Boss, why did it stop there? What happens after they pass Upside-Down Mountain?"

"The comic you read only covers the East Sea Saga," Harlan replied. "That's all for now."

Lumine groaned and crossed her arms. "Great. Cliffhanger."

But she wasn't going to leave empty-handed. "Fine. Then where's my reward?" she asked, shifting her focus.

Harlan didn't answer right away. In his mind, the system notified him that Lumine's reward had been chosen: the Wind-Wind Fruit, a natural-type power not limited by water like traditional Devil Fruits. It gave the user full control over wind and the ability to turn into wind.

"She got a good one," Harlan thought, smiling to himself.

Unlike most Devil Fruits, this version came without drawbacks. It was powerful, versatile, and didn't have the usual curse of losing strength in water.

A bright beam of light shot down from the ceiling and surrounded Lumine.

Paimon jumped in shock. "Lumine?! What's going on?!"

"I'm okay, Paimon. Just stay calm," Lumine replied, trying to stay focused as she felt energy building inside her. It wasn't painful—just strange and strong. When the light faded, she felt different. Lighter. Stronger.

She turned toward Harlan. "What did I get?"

"The Wind-Wind Fruit," he said. "You control wind. You can fly, create storms, and even turn into air."

Lumine thought back to a scene in the comic—where the wind-user caused chaos in Roguetown. That kind of power was now hers?

"Wait," she said. "Aren't Devil Fruit users weak to water?"

"Normally, yes. But this system removes that weakness. You don't have to worry about water," Harlan explained.

That answer brought instant relief. No water weakness meant no risk in battle—and no problems enjoying normal things like swimming or bathing.

"Let's test it," she said.

She closed her eyes and focused. A breeze formed around her, then picked up. Her hair lifted, and her feet left the ground.

Paimon gasped. "You're flying! Without a Wind Glider!"

Lumine floated for a few seconds before gently landing again. She stared at her hands, still feeling the power flowing through her.

She could fly, create storms, and avoid damage by turning into wind. This wasn't just a reward—it was a game-changer.

"This is amazing," she said, smiling to herself. "Totally worth the price."

For the first time in a long while, she felt like her strength had taken a real leap forward. The reward could make a huge difference in her search for Aether.

"If this is what one comic gives," she thought, "what else is possible?"

Harlan watched her quietly from behind the counter, sipping his tea. He didn't say anything, but the small grin on his face showed he was satisfied with how things were going.

Paimon floated over with a mix of excitement and jealousy. "You're so lucky! I hope I get something that cool too!"

Lumine nodded slightly. Her mind was already moving ahead to what she could do with this power—and what other rewards might be waiting.
