Gift of Mana

In a time where demons ravaged the earth, a prophet that led his people was confronted by Satan.

"What will you do now, that you are powerless? Our demons have killed and enslaved your people, so that you are weak to us. Submit to me and serve me, so that you may be spared."

But the prophet didn't respond to him. Instead, he prayed to God that he would defeat him.

He cried out "Lord God, give us power and strength to overcome these demons, so that we may fight them and overpower them."

God saw him, and he gave him and his people the power of Magic. Mana that was born of the spirit and cast out to fight the demons. The devil was shot down and defeated by the raining of fire and lightning from the crowds. The demons retreated and carved holes in the earth, which they called dungeons to escape from. The dungeons are now where the demons reside.

Soon, with the power God had granted them, the people founded a kingdom that they called Ferradia. It stood tall so that no demon may fly above it, to show how God had given them power to purge all evil.

Then the prophet lost his wife, so he lost faith in God. The devil saw an opening to attack. The devil told him,

"If this world took away your wife, why not bring her back? With the power God has given you, you can do anything!"

The prophet agreed with the devil, and cast a spell that brought his wife back to life, only she wasn't alive. His wife was still dead, but a puppet to his will. Her soul was trapped inside her rotten body. He was the first necromancer.

Through the prophet, the devil had struck destruction into the world, he took away some of the mana of people who struggled to wield it, and through them was born the mana deficient. He used the prophet's authority over the people to control them, to wage wars against other kingdoms, he used them as slaves.

God came to the prophet, who had done these things by the devil's influence. He said to him,

"Cursed are you, who turned your back on me! I chose you, for you had a pure heart amongst your people, but you turn your back when you are in a moment of weakness instead of seeking me. If your faith is so little, yet you are the purest, then your people are just as faithless. I will set your kingdom in darkness for 7 days and 7 nights, maybe then you will see the severity of your sin."

God cast the devil out of the prophet, and renounced his title as a prophet, for he has ruined the city and let the devil use it as an asset. God made everyone in the kingdom blind for 7 days and 7 nights, and when the curse was lifted, the people ran to God for forgiveness.

God forgave them, and the people knew to not abuse God's power anymore, and their minds were an impenetrable fortress the devil and his demons could no longer enter.
