Synopsis
In the world of The Quiet Mark, power isn’t just gifted—it’s ranked. Nine Generations define humanity's supernatural capabilities, from the dormant to the godlike. Your Generation is your value. And if you’re born with nothing? You’re less than nothing. Nageya Raman is a calm, mysterious high schooler with white-blue hair, blue eyes and a quiet presence—but behind his cool façade lies something deeper. As a Nie (a rare blend of African and Japanese descent), he’s used to being watched and whispered about. But at Zaikoku High, where students train to master their supernatural abilities, Nageya keeps to himself. He only helps others when they explicitly ask—never before. Until the day everything changes. During a sparring match at school, a new student Kaito—a 6th Generation Sound wielder—defeats a fellow student fire user without even activating his powers. Soon after, a series of battles erupt, each revealing just how unpredictable the Generational hierarchy truly is. But the real test comes when Nageya and a group of chosen students—including the stalking new student–Kaito, the enigmatic Ike, and the observant Hiyori—are invited to challenge a dungeon deep within a restricted zone. What starts as a test spirals into chaos. In a flash of light and distortion, Nageya, Ike, Hiyori, three powerful guild presidents (including Nageya’s father and Hiyori’s father), and five elite hunters find themselves sealed in separate, unknown terrains—deserts, snowfields, and forests—by forces they don’t understand. In the searing heart of the desert, Nageya and Ike face off against a monstrous creature—part dinosaur, part beast. With no sword and only his instincts, Nageya is forced to awaken something buried within him: thunder. A living power that transforms his blade, warps time and form, and changes everything he thought he knew about himself. But the desert is just the beginning. Back at Zaikoku High, more mysteries are unraveling—rivalries between Nie and native students, suppressed memories, hidden pasts, and unspoken affections. Ayumi, a seemingly aloof student, might know more about Nageya than she lets on. Kaito watches from the sidelines with eyes too sharp to be ordinary. And Hiyori? She’s hiding something behind that careful politeness. As the sealed world begins to collapse and unknown enemies stir, Nageya must confront not only the strange marks on his skin—but also the haunting words of his past: "You’re not supposed to exist." In a world where power is everything, what happens when your power doesn't follow the rules? Nageya is yet to awaken even more, and this scares those who know.

Chapter 1 - Prologue: The Origin Scar

They say there was once a man who held them all. Every gift. Every Generation. Every origin of power.

He was the first, the source before the system. A vessel too full of life to be human, yet too human to be god.

But he did not keep it.

In every century, he gave away one part of himself.

First, he gave water — calm, rushing, still, or raging — it bent to their will.

Then, sand — summoned from thin air or commanded like a loyal beast.

Then, thunder — raw, crackling power that didn't just strike, but became the wielder.

Then, magma — fire beneath their feet, splitting earth with molten fury.

Then, fire — pure and wild, ignited by breath, skin, or thought.

Then, sound — where a whisper could deafen, and silence could kill.

Then, age — the mask of time, bending memories, youth, and identity.

Then, life and death — granting breath or stealing it, bringing back the fallen, if they dared.

And finally, time — unstable, fraying the past, present, and future like loose threads.

From his soul, the world was divided. And from his scar, the Generations took form.

And then... he vanished.

Some say he died. Others say he walks still, a ghost in the wind, watching the world unravel from what he once gave freely.

He watched as the Eighth Generation began to play god, ending lives, reviving them, and cutting down even the sick without reason.

He watched the rise of dungeons and the spread of the Vyraks, as Raikuro Tsukihana, wielder of three abilities, carved peace from the bonds of chaos.

And then... he chose again.

Not a king. Not a leader. Nor a warrior.

Just a boy.

Quiet. Withdrawn. Scarred.

And the Origin Scar appeared just after his birth deep across his back, where even mirrors couldn't reflect what was hidden. A mark of power that had been lost for centuries.

Only his family knows.

Even he doesn't ask.

But when the world begins to fall apart, when Generations clash and the balance collapses, they will remember the scar.

And the one who carries it will decide what remains.
