Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: First Date and an Old Friend’s Smile

-

Arashi stood by the mirror in Ken's room, adjusting the collar of his dark shirt for the tenth time. "Do I look like someone going on a date?" he muttered.

Ken, who was putting on his watch, gave him a sideways glance. "You look like someone going to a bar fight."

"That's basically a date, right?"

Ken rolled his eyes but smiled. "You look fine."

Arashi turned to him, face a little too serious. "You sure you wanna do this?"

Ken walked over, brushing a bit of lint off Arashi's shoulder. "It's just dinner. Not marriage."

Arashi caught his wrist and held it. "Still serious to me."

Ken's fingers tightened slightly on Arashi's shirt, then let go. "Let's go before you say something cheesier."

---

They ended up at a cozy rooftop restaurant, the kind with fairy lights strung over wooden beams and soft music playing in the background. Arashi had pulled some strings—private table, best view, no nosy staff.

Ken looked around and smiled. "It's quieter than I thought."

"I picked it so no one would interrupt us." Arashi took a sip of his drink. "I want tonight to be about just you."

Ken's heart skipped for a second.

They chatted for a while—Ken talking about his academy's new students, Arashi rambling about club drama and drunk people he had to kick out last week.

Everything felt surprisingly… normal.

Until a voice broke through.

"Well, well. Never thought I'd see the infamous Arashi on a date."

They both looked up.

A guy stood near their table, smiling in that way people do when they already know they're about to cause trouble.

He had slightly curled chestnut hair, round glasses, and a calm, confident air.

Ken blinked. "Yuuto?"

Yuuto grinned. "Ken-chan! Still looking soft and innocent."

Ken stood up and gave him a quick hug. "It's been years! I thought you moved to the States."

"Came back last week. Business expansion," Yuuto said, then turned to Arashi. "Didn't expect to see you here."

Arashi narrowed his eyes. "We know each other?"

Yuuto's grin grew wider. "Not really. But I've heard plenty. You've got quite the reputation, bad boy."

Ken cleared his throat. "Yuuto, this is—"

"My boyfriend," Arashi said sharply, reaching over and placing a firm hand on Ken's waist.

Yuuto blinked in surprise, then smiled again. "Well, I'll be damned."

He turned to Ken. "I'll call you sometime. We should catch up."

Ken nodded politely, and Yuuto disappeared back into the crowd.

Arashi leaned back, brows furrowed. "Who the hell is that?"

Ken looked confused. "He was a senior at my middle school. We used to hang out a lot when I was a kid."

Arashi scowled. "He looked at you like he still wants to."

Ken blinked. "You jealous?"

Arashi didn't answer. Instead, he picked up his drink and muttered, "I don't like him."

Ken held back a laugh. "Relax. He was just saying hi."

"Yeah, well, if he calls you, you better not 'catch up' in private."

Ken raised an eyebrow. "Are we setting rules now?"

Arashi met his gaze. "Only one: you're mine. That's not changing."

Ken rolled his eyes and leaned forward with a small smirk. "Then behave like a boyfriend. Not a possessive biker."

Arashi leaned in too. "Then don't smile at random dudes like that."

They ended the night with a kiss on the rooftop—just as the wind picked up and scattered petals across their table.
