Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: Bai Xue

He had already obtained the Tres Body Forging Art, so breaking through to the Fusion Realm was no longer a concern, allowing him to stay for the time being. However, once there was news of that corpse, he would leave immediately; nothing was more important than that corpse.

Over Jinling, the smoke of war billowed into the sky; the battles never ceased. Every few days, a wave of beast hordes would inexplicable assault from the west.

In the sky, flying mutated beasts swarmed towards the base in droves.

Granny flew through the air, her fiery aura condensing into a Blazing Flame Palm, shaking the sky, sparks flying everywhere, earning countless cheers of admiration and respect.

Lu Yin stood on the city wall, looking west. In recent days, the beast hordes had been too frequent. Could a powerful mutated beast have appeared?

"Granny, support the southwest!" Lu Yin shouted.

In the sky, Granny felt annoyed. She was a prodigy from the Starry Sky, yet she was being ordered around like this. She wanted to refuse, but seeing Lu Yin's icy eyes, Granny wisely carried out the order. A scene from a few days ago flashed through her mind.

It was the day after she had seen Chu Shan. Lu Yin suddenly proposed a spar, guaranteeing he wouldn't use the Wave Palm. Granny had agreed. To her horror, this bastard had clearly used the Sky Rending Palm, almost crippling her with one strike. Granny was so furious she swore never to spar with him again.

Of course, she was also simultaneously shocked by Lu Yin's strength. If the Wave Palm wasn't considered too rare, then the Sky Rending Palm was completely different. As far as she knew, among her peers, only one person could use the Sky Rending Palm: Willow, the strongest person from the Empire's First Military Academy. Lu Yin was the second.

Boom!

The Blazing Flame Palm slammed fiercely onto the ground, shattering several powerful mutated beasts. Granny let out a sigh of relief.

She also found it strange. After the apocalypse, while mutated beasts were numerous, not all of them attacked humans. Beasts had their own instincts; if their territory wasn't invaded, they rarely ventured out. This was a key reason why so many survivors were still alive. But at this moment, the beast hordes were unusually frequent.

Roar!

A colossal roar echoed. In front, two mutated beasts charged, attacking Granny. Granny once again unleashed the Blazing Flame Palm, killing both mutated beasts with one strike.

On the city wall, Lu Yin frowned. This woman relied too much on combat techniques, which in turn limited her development. Once she couldn't use the Blazing Flame Palm, her combat power would immediately drop by half. He estimated that in the academy, this woman would only be considered upper-middle tier, far inferior to Tres, and only slightly stronger than Aodhan.

Suddenly, Lu Yin's eyes widened sharply, and he roared, "Stop!" With that, he raised his palm and pressed down from thin air. The air was seized, forming ripples of vibration that then blasted towards Granny like an air cannon.

Granny turned in surprise, seeing Lu Yin's Sky Rending Palm striking towards her, her eyes changing drastically. This bastard was crazy, actually attacking her! Suddenly, Granny felt a chill down her spine; someone was ambushing her. Granny reacted quickly, subconsciously turning around. The Sky Rending Palm grazed past Granny, directly impacting the person behind her. With a thud, the air vibrated. Granny was swept aside by the immense force. Behind her, a man spat out a mouthful of blood and flew backward, crashing into the ground.

Lu Yin leaped up, swiftly flying towards Granny, glaring at the man lying on the ground, and landed in front of Granny.

Granny breathed out, looking at Lu Yin thankfully. If it weren't for Lu Yin just now, she would have been ambushed. The ambusher also had the strength of an Observation Realm expert. If the ambush had succeeded, she didn't know how severely she would have been injured, perhaps even killed.

A huge crack appeared in the ground. The man clutched his chest, looking at Lu Yin in shock, "Sky... Sky Rending Palm? How is that possible?"

Lu Yin stared coldly at the man, his eyes darting around the surroundings, then his gaze fixed. His Vagrant Step vanished, and he charged into the beast horde. The man shouted, "Run!" But it was too late. Within the belly of a mutated beast, a young man watched in astonishment as Lu Yin's single palm reached out, drew a long saber, and swung it. With a clink, the long saber broke. Lu Yin's palm shattered the saber and blasted the man's body. The ground within dozens of meters cracked, air currents swirled, and countless mutated beasts were torn apart.

Lu Yin, with just two strikes, defeated two Observation Realm experts, leaving Granny dumbfounded.

She confirmed that these two were students. Although not from the Empire's First Military Academy, their level of supplementary trial training was definitely not low. Yet they were defeated so easily. This was Lu Yin's current strength; his true combat power far exceeded his combat rating.

As the two were defeated, the beast horde strangely retreated.

Lu Yin immediately realized that the beast hordes during this period came from these two.

"Who are you?" Granny shouted, asking. She had almost been ambushed.

The two men looked at Lu Yin warily, not answering.

Lu Yin waved his hand, dismissing the soldiers, and stared coldly at the two, "If you don't speak, I'll chop you up to feed the mutated beasts."

"We are all students; you can't be so cruel," one man said fearfully, his face a little pale.

Lu Yin shrugged, "Sorry, I'm not a student. I'm from Earth."

"Impossible!" the two exclaimed, looking at Granny at the same time.

Granny remained silent.

The two were shaken, "How can a native easily defeat us? And even use the Sky Rending Palm?"

"Alright, no more nonsense. Either speak, or die," Lu Yin said coldly.

More than ten minutes later, Lu Yin ordered the two men to be locked up, his eyes thoughtful. These two came from the Blue Mountain Academy of the Great Martial Empire. Blue Mountain Academy was located on a planet covered in wild beasts, so these two understood some beast-taming techniques, but they could only use very weak mutated beasts. As for attacking Jinling, they were like Granny and her companions, even wanting to occupy Jinling.

However, unlike Granny, these two had someone behind them, and they weren't far from Jinling, residing in Anhui.

Granny said resentfully, "Why didn't you kill them? They wanted to seize Jinling."

Lu Yin looked at Granny, "You go kill them then."

Granny was startled, turned away, "I can't do it."

Lu Yin said coldly, "While trials are not without life-or-death situations, excessive killing is not advisable. In the future, stop playing petty tricks in front of me. This is the first time, and it's also the last." With that, Lu Yin turned and left.

Granny pouted, watching Lu Yin's retreating back, secretly thinking it was a pity. She wanted to push Lu Yin into a position where everyone hated him, so she could escape his control, but she failed. This bastard was smarter than she imagined. "Boss, the beast horde has retreated!" Xu San excitedly told Lu Yin, his small eyes gleaming.

Lu Yin gave him a look and knew what he was thinking, "Did you use up your energy crystals?"

Xu San awkwardly said, "I used them all up. I'm much stronger now."

Lu Yin said, "There's no need to rush to break through to Heaven-grade. For now, you don't have that ability. Try your best to immerse yourself in the energy within your meridians."

"Okay, Boss," Xu San felt Lu Yin's concern.

As for Lu Yin, he didn't want this person's potential to be affected later due to absorbing too many impurities, which would make him worthless. Many major powers had ways to disperse all their energy and then cultivate again. Today, Xu San was worth such an investment for these powers, but the higher the strength, the greater the cost, and the lower the corresponding value. Therefore, the stronger Xu San became, the less Lu Yin would be able to gain in the future. Earth-grade was just right; being able to protect his life was good enough.

Chu Shan's injuries had recovered quite a bit; Lu Yin had given him Granny's healing medicine.

"What do you plan to do with those two aliens?" Chu Shan asked.

Lu Yin said, "Keep them imprisoned for now; they'll definitely be useful. You can also interrogate them; it's good to know more about the alien situation."

Chu Shan nodded, "I heard they're from Anhui?"

Lu Yin said, "It's right on our way. We might as well deal with it together."

"Forward direction? I've always been curious, why do you want to go west?" Chu Shan asked curiously.

Lu Yin looked at Chu Shan, "Do you want to hear the truth?"

"Nonsense!"

"I want to go to Hubei to see someone," Lu Yin said calmly.

"Hubei? A relative of yours?" Chu Shan was puzzled.

Lu Yin smiled, "You could say that."

Chu Shan nodded, "Good. Jinling was saved by you. If you say go west, then we go west. Oh, by the way, if we really reach Hubei, it wouldn't be bad. We could connect with Liu Shaoka in Wucheng and work together against the aliens."

Lu Yin's eyes flashed, "Liu Shaoka? Saint Light? How is he?"

Chu Shan said, "How is he? In terms of strength or personality?"

"I'm curious about both," Lu Yin said with a smile.

Chu Shan said, "Actually, I don't know him very well. Although we worked together before, we didn't have much contact. The person who knows Liu Shaoka best should be Saint Luo, Bai Xue. From what I heard, the two seem to have a thing going on."

Lu Yin frowned, then relaxed, "A thing going on? Married?"

"No, just good feelings for each other, I guess," Chu Shan said uncertainly, then smiled at Lu Yin, grinning, "Have you seen Bai Xue?"

Lu Yin shook his head.

Chu Shan looked up at the sky, pointing at the clouds, "Bai Xue, she's like that."

Lu Yin looked up following Chu Shan's gaze, a little confused.

"Bai Xue, like a lotus blossoming from clear water, naturally adorned without embellishment, a goddess of the Luo River, as beautiful as a painting," Chu Shan said with emotion.

Lu Yin stared at Chu Shan as if he had seen a ghost, "You can even use idioms?"
