My name is Alexander Anderson, and I was a police officer when I was alive. But that didn't last long. My partner and I were investigating a murder that happened on 35 Park Street. The scene was too gruesome to describe in detail. My partner and I decided to get back to the shop to file a report.
But as soon as we started the car, the engine exploded and killed us both.
And now I'm here—floating, waiting.
I didn't feel hunger. I didn't feel anything.
I just closed my eyes, going back to sleep.
And then, suddenly, it was like a billion suns exploded and blinded me like a flashbang.
And from it, a being of pure light appeared.
"HELLO!"

"BE NOT AFRAID, HUMAN. IT IS I, THE @$(_)#+, AND I AM HERE TO BRING YOU NEW LIFE!"
"Why are you screaming?"
"OH, was I? Anyway, I'm here to finally give you a chance to be reborn."
"Reborn? Like those animes my brother watches?"
"Exactly! So what do you want to be?"
I thought about it for a minute and finally decided on what to become.
"I wish to become Shadow with all the Chaos Emeralds."
"Ohh, edgy hedgehog. Ok, I'll allow it. I'll even make sure that those emeralds are always bonded with you."
"Thank you, but where exactly am I going after all of this?"
The being laughed and then touched my forehead.
I felt information flood into my mind—memories of Shadow and how to use his powers.
My body felt heavy, and then I began falling into the abyss.
The being waved at me.
"Byeee!"
They left.

I fell from the sky with a thunderous boom and finally landed on the ground.
"Ahh, my head. Where am I?"
My thoughts were interrupted when I heard my voice.
"Hello—whoa—I need a gun. Lots of guns."
Oh my god, I sound like Keanu Reeves. This is the best day ever!
Ok, ok, calm down. I need to find out where I landed.
I walked for a few minutes, looking around. There was nothing but forest as far as the eye could see.
I then saw a puddle of water and looked down to finally see what I looked like. I was the exact copy of Shadow, down to the voice.
I got up and decided to stretch my legs. I got into a running position and began to run.
I was running—faster than the wind, faster than sound. I was running faster and faster.
I finally came across a large cave. I got inside, and what appeared shocked me.
It was a crystal tree with six gems of different colors.
"Oh man... I'm in a f*cken kids' show."
