Beatrice was in one of her boats, returning from a successful turkey hunt. Her chosen hunting ground was only accessible by the water, so that's why she had to go by boat.
She pulled up to her and her families boat dock out in their backyard and docked her boat. She walked down the dirt pathway to her and her families humble abode.
She lived in this house with her uncle Bobby and her Nana.
She was raised by the two of them since she was two and her mother passed away.
Beatrice had no memories of her mother. Her uncle and Nanna told her that her mother was into fashion and design just like her. Though her mother wasn't into hunting. She was more of a city girl.
Beatrice loved to hunt and fish. She just love to be out in nature in general.
She walked up to the front door of her house, holding two fresh turkeys and went inside.
Her Nana was sitting on the couch patching holes and some old jeans.
"How was the hunt?" Nanna asked.
"Good I got a couple big ones. Do you know where uncle Bobby is?"
"He went into town to grab some beer for tonight's barbecue."
"Oh that's perfect. I can't wait for tonight!" Beatrice said smiling.
She was looking forward to tonight's barbecue all her neighbors and friends would be joining them. This is why she had gotten out to get the turkeys. Her neighbor Joey was really good at making deep fried turkey and she was looking forward to it.
She thought her uncle Bobby would be home enough hour or so but three hours past and he still wasn't back, but there was a knock at the door.
Beatrice went to the front door and opened it only to see some cops.
"What can I do for you officers?" Beatrice asked.
"We are looking for a Beatrice Lisa Heartly." the officer said.
"You're speaking to her. What do y'all want with me?" Beatrice asked.
"Ma'am, we need you to come with us down to the station. There are some people who have claimed that you are their daughter and sister and we need you to come with us, so we can clear a few things up."
"I'm 24 and I'm pretty sure I've lived 24 those years in this house. I believe that's enough proof that I'm not kidnapped. Now, if that's enough proof for you, I have a barbecue. I'm getting ready for for tonight and I'm waiting on my uncle to come back with the beers."
"That will be a rather long wait ma'am your uncles at the station under arrest for kidnapping you 24 years ago."
Beatrice raised an eyebrow at that statement, and Nanna yelled from behind Beatrice, "Now what in the hell are y'all arresting my son for? There ain't no way on God's greener that this is legal!"
"Nanna hush up don't cause no trouble," Beatrice hissed, "I'm sorry about her. I'll come with you if it gets this situation over with right quick but I better be back in time for the barbecue."
"Thank you for your cooperation ma'am," said one of the officers, "with some good luck you'll be back home in time for your barbecue."
"I better be I didn't hunt those two turkeys for nothing," Beatrice said to the cop. She then turned and looked behind her to her Nana and then said, "Nanna you think you can prep the turkeys yourself I gotta go get uncle Bob out of jail."
"I sure can, dear go get my son-in-law out of the slammer so I can give them a piece of my mind!" she yelled back to Beatrice.
"Will do, Nanna." after saying that Beatrice followed the cops out of the house. "Now, do I need to come with you in the cop car or can I go in my own vehicle?"
"We would prefer if you came in our car," one of the cops replied.
"Alrighty then if that's what you would prefer I'm in no mood to protest. Let's just get this over with."
The drive to the station took about an hour and a half. Beatrice and her family lived in the middle of nowhere just how they liked it no prying eyes to judge them.
When she got to the station, she was not greeted by her uncle, but a man in a suit. Beatrice rolled her eyes at the side of.
The cops in into a room, so she and the suit man could talk. "Hello Miss Beatrice, I am here on behalf of my client to escort you back to your rightful place," the man in the suit said.
"Okay now what in the HELL are you on about?!" Beatrice shouted back at him.
A little over 24 years ago, your mother left her husband and three sons while pregnant with you. This constitute as kidnapping under the law. Due to this you have been held hostage for 24 years and are legally considered a victim needing to protection of a legal guardian," the suit man said in a hoity-toity voice.
"I am here to escort you back to your family. They are eagerly awaiting your real arrival."
"Excuse me, sir, but WHAT THE FUCK!!!"
