The wind blew through the branches of the old oak tree, bringing up a few rotten leaves and memories that Amy had hidden deep in her heart for many years.
"Mary, Mary, where are you?"
This was the voice she repeatedly shouted at the edge of the forest ten years ago. That day, her good friend Mary said she was going to find a lost kitten, but she never came back.
Now, Amy has moved to the city, trying to forget those ridiculous rumors and the ending that could never be found. But this morning, she received an envelope without the sender's information.
She opened the letter with trembling fingers, and there was only a yellowed note that read:
"Where is Mary Mary?"
Her heart jumped suddenly, and the old nursery rhyme sounded automatically in her mind:
> Where is Mary Mary?
She was hiding from raindrops under the tree.
The leaves fell, the rain was heavy,
She didn't return in the dark night...
Amy's fingers loosened, and the note fell to the ground. She looked out the window-the forest in the distance, in the twilight, was like a mouth waiting for prey.
She knew that some truths could not remain buried forever.
