Chapter 32 - CHAPTER 32:The China Aster’s Promise

When Lu woke up, he gently brushed the hair away from my face. He got up quietly, placed a pillow under my head, and tucked the blanket around me.

It was 9 a.m. when I woke up to the delicious smell of something cooking. I sat up, stretched, and walked toward the kitchen. To my surprise, Lu had prepared an entire breakfast spread and was waiting for me at the dining table.

I tapped his shoulder and asked, "Did you make all of this?"

He nodded with a soft smile. "Go freshen up and come eat," he said.

After getting ready, I joined him at the table. Halfway through breakfast, I called out, "Lu."

He looked up from his plate. "What happened, Qin?"

I grinned. "I have a surprise for you."

His eyes widened. "What is it?"

"You'll see. Finish your food first," I teased.

Lu quickly finished his meal, watching me with puppy eyes the whole time. I stood up, motioned for him to follow me, and led him to the garden. He looked around curiously. "What surprise do you have here, Qin?"

I walked behind him and gently covered his eyes. "Just follow me."

When I finally moved my hands away, he gasped. Squatting down to take a closer look, he said, "Qin, this flower is so beautiful. When did you plant it?"

I knelt beside him and smiled. "When you left for Germany, I bought seeds from Zhichen's shop. He said this flower is called China Aster."

Lu blinked. "What does it mean?"

"It symbolizes long-distance relationships and a bright future," I replied softly.

He gently touched the petals and looked at me. "You planted this while I was away… Then, let's make it our symbol. From now on, we'll plant China Asters as a sign of our love."

I turned toward him and nodded happily.

Just then, my phone rang. While Lu continued admiring the flower, I picked up the call. "Hello?"

"Qin!" It was Liang. "Zhichen is at my house! My mom's interrogating him like a police officer. Come quick or she'll burn him alive with her questions!"

I laughed. "Your mom's just being protective. Honestly, if she marries him off to you right now, wouldn't you be thrilled?"

Liang raised her voice. "Stop joking! Come now!"

I chuckled. "Alright, alright, I'm on my way."

Lu turned to me. "Was that Liang?"

I nodded. "Yes. We have to go to her house. I'll introduce you to her properly."

Lu smiled and nodded, and together, we headed out to her place.
