Okay, real talk: I fell for someone who didn't fall back.
Her name's Riley. She's cool, funny, a little chaotic. She laughed at my bad puns, sent me music recommendations, and once touched my arm for like 0.3 seconds and now I have to legally marry her (kidding… kind of).
We never dated. We were just… talking. Flirting. Sending each other memes and playlists like we were in a soft indie film montage.
But eventually, she pulled away. Started leaving my texts on "read." Posted blurry pictures with someone else.
I asked, "What are we?"
She said, "I don't know."
And that hurt more than a straight-up "no."
"Situationships are like emotional limbo. You're dancing in circles, but the music's not even yours."
I cried. A lot.
I made an entire breakup playlist and named it "Unspoken Feelings & Sad Cereal."
But I survived.
And now I listen to that playlist and… smile a little.
Because even if it ended weird, it was still real to me.
