We walked out hand in hand, the cool breeze brushing past us, welcoming the early spring, the morning sun complementing the serenity of our surrounding.
We, paused in our steps as we took in the familiar surrounding, the familiar pussy willows were blooming, travelling a far distance that our eyes couldn't reach from where we stood, we could hear the distant sound of the river as the tides moved as if dancing to the rhythms of it's own beat. Our eyes wandered back and forth with doubt in them, afraid of the world we're about to step in, away from our safe haven, the only place that became our familiar paradise, the only place where we were hidden from the harshness of reality and the cruelty of others, which only in truth was just a temporary escape from an inevitable fate.
