The week before my mother's wedding was a whirlwind of activity. Between last-minute preparations and my own studies, I barely had time to breathe, let alone dwell on the awkward encounter with Rhys and his friends. That was a blessing in disguise.
"Are you ready for today?" Seraphina's excited voice came through the phone Friday morning. "This is going to be so much fun!"
I smiled despite my exhaustion. "As ready as I'll ever be. Are you sure you want to come with me? Dress shopping can be tedious."
"Are you kidding? Missing out on helping you pick the perfect dress for your mother's wedding? Not a chance!" Seraphina declared. "I'll be at your place in thirty minutes. Liam and Debra are meeting us at the mall."
True to her word, Seraphina pulled up in her shiny red convertible exactly thirty minutes later, honking the horn twice. I rushed out the door, grateful that both my mother and Alistair were busy with their own wedding arrangements today.
