Chapter 1 - More power

The Old Ones are an ancient, technologically and psychically advanced intelligent species. They established an interstellar empire across the Milky Way Galaxy many years ago and have ruled over it before the development of most other sentient species in the galaxy. They possess extremely advanced technology and potent psychic powers, which make them essentially the masters of the Immaterium, at least initially. The Immaterium is an alternate dimension of purely psychic energy, which is the source of all psychic powers.

The Old Ones want to appear as a benevolent and gentle species, but no one can tell whether that is true. The only ones who might know the truth are the Necrontyr who approached the Old Ones and asked them for help.

The Necrontyr were a humanoid species that began their existence under a fearsome and rather unforgiving star in the far reaches of the galaxy known as the Halo Stars region. The star's radiation assaulted them, causing them to be affected by terrible cancers and very uncomfortable and short life spans. So, the Necrontyr escaped their homeworld and dived into space, hoping to find a way for their Empire to prosper and be free of their lethal situation. At some time, the Necrontyr encountered the Old Ones, who had already dealt with such 'small' problems as life spans, diseases, and pain. They were absolute masters of technology, which the Necrontyr couldn't hope to achieve. When confronted with the request of giving the Necrontyr the secret to eternal life, the Old Ones refused, despite seeing the genetic curse of the Necrontyr.

So, the Necrontyr went to war against the Old Ones, trying to force them to give them what they wanted. They lost. The Necrontyr were driven back to the point where they became little more than a nuisance to the Old Ones' control of the galaxy, a nonexistent threat remaining on their irradiated planet within the Halo Stars, exiled and overlooked. The Necrontyr's rage gradually evolved into a profound hatred for all other intelligent beings and an unyielding resolve to take revenge on the Old Ones.

And as it happened, the Necrontyr got their chance... in a way. Primordial energy beings approached the Necrontyr called the C'tan. They were electromagnetic energy given form and were immensely powerful, and promised the Necrontyr a way to get their revenge on the Old Ones. So they started to create and forge physical shells for the C'tan to occupy, from the living metal the Necrontyr used called necrodermis. After they took their physical forms, the C'tan gained a hunger. Usually, the C'tan consumed the energy from the stars, but as they appeared in their new forms, they understood that the souls of living beings brought them far more nourishment and satisfaction than the energy of a star could.

The C'tan promised to give the Necrontyr everything they wanted, immortality and unity, which they didn't have before. And so, after thinking about the C'tan's proposition, the Necrontyr agreed to undergo the process of 'Biotransference'. The Necrontyr walked into the furnaces willingly and shed their organic bodies to inhabit cold, metal bodies made from necrodermis. And as the Necrontyr's souls were ripped away from them, and they experienced the worst pain imaginable, the C'tan feasted on their souls in delight. But not only that, they also took away their freedom, effectively turning them into slaves.

After that, the War in Heaven against the Old Ones started anew, and this time, the newly named Necrons had the power of technology on their side. The C'tan whispered the secrets of physics into their ears, allowing them to create technological wonders and weapons that surpassed even the Old Ones' imagination. The dead were moving forward, and the Old Ones, and all of life, were plunged into a war for their survival.

The Krorks were created by the Old Ones to fight against the massive threat of the dead, the Necrons. The Old Ones created different races and species, but they created two that were truly special, and they hoped to use them against the Necrons and their C'tan masters: the Aeldari and the Krorks. Knowing that the C'tan were highly vulnerable to psychic energies, the Old Ones had designed their new warrior species to be psychically linked to the Immaterium and able to use its power in destructive ways. This, however, would prove to have disastrous consequences.

During these war times, the Aeldari learnt many secrets of the Warp from the Old Ones. From this knowledge, the Aeldari developed the technologies that ultimately led to their exploitation and expansion of the Webway in later times. They are strong and fast and incredibly intelligent and physically inclined. The Krorks, on the other hand... are as well. But where the Aeldari are delicate and Elf-like, the Krorks are Ork-like. But surprisingly, the Krorks are not imbeciles; on the contrary, they are incredibly smart. They are usually large and physically powerful, as large as 12 metres on average.

.

On a planet somewhere in the galaxy, on another front of the battle between the living and the dead, in a Krork camp, we find Azkull, our main character. He is in the process of creating another weapon and mending his armour, as he had to constantly. The door is broken as another Krork crashes through it. That wasn't unusual, the Krorks didn't give a hoot about social norms and expressed themselves differently than what humans would or the Aeldari.

"BOSS, another attack from the tin-cans. I think one of the named characters is with them this time. Meteors are falling from the sky," the Krork tells Azkull.

"I can hear that, Skarzot, but I already arranged for our group to prepare for my arrival. We knew they would come, so this isn't surprising. Tell Nargrunt to stop his grunting and get to fucking work. I can't create all of our weapons by myself. Fucks sake." Azkull says as he finishes the repairs and upgrades of his armour.

Skarzot grunts and leaves, telling the men to prepare.

Azkull stands up to his full height of almost 15 meters. He is without a doubt the biggest and strongest of all the Krorks present and future, and he knows that for certain, because he knows the future to some degree. He wasn't always a Krork; he used to be a human. It was peculiar for him to wake up as the first Krork ever created by the Old Ones, with his memories intact. He was in the grim dark future of a terrible reality and knew that he was dead... at least in the first couple of picoseconds. Then the gift he was thankfully bestowed, kicked in: The Essence of the Krork.

His mind was enhanced to supernatural levels, even for the 40k standards. He gained beyond genius-level intellect and everything that went with it. He became a Krork, not a human in a Krork body; he was and is a Krork with intelligence that can't be grasped and the body to go along with it. Despite his intelligence, the first thing he did was roar loudly and express his emotions that way... The Old Ones didn't understand what he said, but it sounded like: WAAAGH.

Azkull looked at the Old Ones for a while. They were interested to see what their newest creation was about to do. Azkull punched the shit out of the Old Ones, stole some of their technology and then just jumped out of the space station. And that's how it all started. The world, below the space station, where the Old Ones created Azkull, was thankfully not infested with Necrons at that point, which gave him enough time to spread spores left and right and create more and more Krorks in preparation for the war.

But he realised that they're war efforts were not going well. The other Krorks that the Old Ones created weren't able to keep up with what the Necrons and their C'tan masters did, and while the war made them stronger, they died faster than they could create new ones. And the Necron weaponry was working against their biology. The Gauss weapons didn't allow for spores to spread when they killed the Krorks. The C'tan worked around the Krorks and had developed ways to get rid of them. Azkull was creating better and better technology, but the assault and seeming mass production of the Necrons was incredible, since the C'tan could create matter out of nothing.

Azkull was unhappy; out of all the Krork clans, he was the only one who had managed to truly prosper and grow, while the others emerged and were then eradicated by the Necrons. But this was noticed. The C'tan had started a series of campaigns against Azkull's clan, and it was showing. They needed more power and weapons of a similar or higher degree to those of the Necrons. So he had created a plan to simply take what the Necrons had and use it for themselves. Why not? It was the best way for them to access such technology quickly, turn it to scrap and then create something he wanted out of their husks. He was in the process of creating a portal through the multiverse and was close to finishing. He wouldn't let his clan get destroyed, no matter how smart the C'tan thought themselves to be. So, he would take those who remained to another universe for preparation. And he had one in mind.

.

Azkull walks forward, dressed in his wargear and armed with his weapons.

"Is everything ready?" he asks.

"Hah, indeed. The metal shits won't know what hit them."

"Load the cannons." Azkull commands.

"LOAD THE CANNONS!" Nargrunt shouts.

In the distance, the Necron vessels were seen as they descended to the ground and the air, starting their attack. There was an impeccable order to Necron attacks, something Azkull didn't like at all. Deep in his being was a chaotic and savage being that, while beyond genius in intelligence, enjoyed causing chaos on the battlefield and confusing the enemy with as many big guns and weapons as he had. And the 'cannon' as he called it, was one of those things, which he had created, that always managed to cause some initial chaos.

Far back, a massive Titan-class machine can be seen. If one had to compare it to something, it would be the future Mega Gargants of the late Orks. But this was barely used as a Titan by the Krorks; it was used as a suit for them to operate individually. A large cannon starts to roar to life, and the Krork operating the Giga Suit, as it was called, starts the loading phase. On the ground, Krorks in specialised suits run forward and enter a chamber that sucks all of them into a loading zone, which is located inside the Giga Suit. Hundreds and thousands of Krorks are sucked in and then the Krork using the Giga Suit gets the signal to start.

"Fire," Azkull says.

"FIREEEEE!!!"

*BOM BOM BOM BOM BOM BOM BOM BOM*

From the large cannon, the Krorks fire at the Necron fleet in the air like a machine gun. This has the useful effect of sending Krorks behind enemy lines and getting them airborne, where they damage the flyers. Krorks have their own flyers, but they don't send them out first... just because. It makes sense... trust them.

However, this is merely the initial greeting; more attacks are on the way. The Necrons will not take that lightly and deal with it quickly, which is why the Krorks work fast. Their latent bloodlust and fighting spirit start to manifest. WAAGH energy is building up fast.

Necron Warriors are marching towards them in their perfect formation, and the order that the Necron Overlord commands. In response to this, the Krork Boys rush from all sides, crashing into the Necrons and going absolutely nuts on them. Even Krork Boys are already 10 meters tall and truly powerful. But they are also armed with armour and weapons surpassing anything their Ork descendants could create.

"WAAAAAAAGGGHHHHH!"

The sound just fit. It isn't supposed to mean anything. It's just fun to yell. It's a battle cry, and because of that, it's associated with fighting and enjoyment, which means it automatically raises the Krork's battle lust and fighting spirit, manifesting it and making them more powerful. Everyone knows that, and that's why it's true.

Large explosions take place, signalling the mines that have been set up beforehand and culling the immortal Necrons. Azkull has a hard time resisting the urge to move forward and understands the need to wait a moment longer.

Immortals, higher-end basic infantry Necrons, appear and start firing their Gauss weapons at the Krorks. Azkull's new armour allows them to block one or two shots of the Gauss weapons, but after that, they are hit. Using the WAAGH energy, though, the effect and damage can be negated to a degree, and if Azkull himself is present, this turns things up to a million.

"Fire the Ordinati," Azkull commands.

Azkulll has replicated the Ordinati of the Adeptus Mechanicus. Ordinati are Leviathan-sized warmachines with specialised weapons configured for their intended role. Azkull has mounted them on the Giga Suits. Hundreds of sonic disruptors are fired towards the Necrons.

*VROOOOOM*

The clever placement of the Giga Suited Krorks deals heavy damage to the approaching Doomsday Arks and Ghost Arks. But the Necrons don't wait to respond to this. Annihilation Barges fire back and cause massive damage to the Giga Suits. Then the Tomb Blades start to cause havoc from the air, flying at unnatural angles and incredible speeds. But this is where the Krork chaos comes into play; they don't care about the 'unpredictability' of the Tomb Blades. They just crash through it all. More power is all they need.

Then, the moment Azkull has been waiting for appears: The Gravitic Trebuchet appears on the battlefield. The Gravitic Trebuchet is a class of Necron artillery weapon. It is a giant Canoptek construct shaped like an arachnid. Each of its eight projector spires is a pylon of Noctilith six leagues long. At its centre resides an armoured core containing its engines, command centre, and targeting lenses. The Weapon is designed to accelerate asteroids to speeds faster than light. Its mechanisms create another reality where the laws of physics are different and the mass of the object launched becomes negative, allowing it to reach speeds similar to those of an Inertialess Drive's jump. The Necrons are nuts and unchallenged in terms of technology, but the Krorks are nuts... all around.

Azkull has dealt with them for a while now, but he has found out that while they aren't frequently used, they are one of the things which can even disrupt a small-sized WAAGH. And that's saying something. The Waagh's the Krorks are capable of is unreal. So, the Necrons have begun using rapid methods to counter the Krorks, thereby preventing Waagh energy from accumulating. But if a plan is used once, it's no longer a surprise and can be countered.

"Fire up the Big Booms," Azkull commands as he sees the state of the battlefield.

Zogwarp, the science boy of this month, hands Azkull a device with several buttons on it. Science boys usually change once every few months, as the experiments Azkull conducts often explode and kill anyone weaker than him. He has had one or two moments where he nearly killed himself. But that's what it means to be fearless and love what you're doing.

The Gravitic Trebuchet activates, and the asteroids are accelerated. At that exact moment, Azkull presses the first button.

"Show me!" he barks, and Zogwarp shows him a screen with some graphics and many numbers on it. The speed of the asteroid accelerates higher and higher, and just before it reaches light speed, Azkull presses another button. A big and truly savage smile appears on his face and threatens to split his head.

The asteroid surpasses the speed of light and zooms through space-time. And then... it impacts the planet.

*....ooooooOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM*

The asteroids rip the planet in half and send shockwaves across the remaining chunks. But not the Krork's were hit... no, the Necrons were. Azkull had hollowed out all the asteroids in space, above the planet, and outfitted them with monstrous engines and targeting technology, so powerful that they could move the asteroids as soon as he sent the signal. The Gravitic Trebuchet basically accelerated asteroids with a homing beacon to their own location. And for good measure, the Krorks filled the remaining space with explosives.

"YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHH"

"OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHH"

The Krorks cheer and shout in happiness. They enjoyed explosions and anything of the sort, and this was an enormous explosion; it even ripped apart the planet. However, the fun was nowhere near over. It had barely just begun. Now was the time to get closer and personal. It was time for Azkull to join in the fun and start a massive WAAGH.

"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!"

He roars at the top of his lungs, and the other Krorks join in. They storm the battlefield and get to work. Thousands upon thousands of Necron parts and pieces are lying all over what remains of the battlefield and haven't been pulled back. The reason for this is that Azkull has developed a force field to prevent it from happening.

Necrons are linked to a central node and constantly send a blocking signal, which stops them from being pulled back or 'phased back'. Once they are damaged or destroyed, the signal is no longer sent back, which acts as a failsafe. The node sends a highly complex frequency back, and, more or less, 'beams' the Necrons back, preventing the enemy from studying their technology. How did Azkull do it? And why did the force field have such an effect? He told everyone it did that, and the Krorks didn't care about it; if he said it worked, it worked.

The massive WAAGH builds up more and more, as they mow down anything and everything that stands in their way. Nothing survives, not even the dead Necrons. They are shot or ripped to pieces, and the few who remain don't put up much of a resistance. It will take only a minute for the Necron Overlord and the C'tan to realise that their Warriors and Immortals are not being sent back and are actively losing men.

Azkull doesn't care about the damage he takes; he storms forward, grabbing Necron Destroyers and using them like he would a small handgun to fire against other Necrons. Then he crushes it with his hand and throws it forward, like a cannonball. Their energy builds up, turning the battlefield green. The C'tan seems not to have given up on this endeavour, as several altered Pylons rise from the ground and aim at the approaching horde. More powerful C'tan might manipulate reality now, but they don't trust anything not to be boobytrapped, and so, the C'tan relies on its own technology. The Pylon fires at the horde, but the WAAGH energy is too powerful already and blocks the attacks.

Magma rises from the holes, and the planetary electromagnetic field destabilises. These two forces used the planet as a playground, but it has sadly not survived. The Krorks simply don't care; they jump from one chunk to another to get where they want to go and use the Giga Suits to propel each other forward. As time passes, the Krorks grow increasingly powerful and the damage they can unleash rises, and as they do more damage, they grow stronger as well.

.

On the Cairn Class Tomb Ship, chaos was going on. The C'tan was ripping things apart in anger and frustration, and looked at the few Krorks who had damaged their drives, preventing them from providing air support. The brutish Krorks, creatures they looked down upon, had outwitted them and destroyed roughly 90% of the fleet they had brought today.

"GET ME THAT KRORKBOSS'S HEAD!! NOOOOWWW!!!"

"Affirmative," the Necron Overlord utters emotionlessly and makes his way to the battlefield.

The Lychguard follow him to protect him until the very end. They teleport on the battlefield, in front of the approaching WAAGH, together with what is left of the Crypteks, one Necron Lord and a few Destroyers. The Destroyers fire off their Gauss cannons, penetrating the Krork's worn armour and ripping through their powerful skins. And then, the main bulk of the WAAGH arrives.

Azkull sees the Necron Overlord and rushes forward, thinking about nothing right now, only the enjoyment of the fight. The Krork's physiques tower far above the Necrons, who are only keeping up thanks to their incredible technology. But the entirety of the WAAGH hits the last remaining forces of the Necrons, and so the outcome is clear, before the fight has even begun.

While Azkull attacks the Necron Overlord, two of his Nobility, or Nobz, Skarzot takes on the Necron Lord and Nargrunt the Lychguard.

The Necron Lord wields a Staff of Light and fires a highly concentrated energy beam towards Skarzot. However, the Nob is suddenly pushed to he side by Nargrunt.

"I want that one! He looks powerful!" Nargrunt shouts and runs forward.

Nargrunt reaches the Necron Lord and swings his power axe downwards. But before he can cut the Necron, he is suddenly hit with explosives from behind.

*Boom boom*

"This one is MINE!" Skarzot shouts and jumps towards the Necron. The Lychguard are busy dealing with the ever-growing horde of Krorks who have begun to overrun them. The Lychguards are equipped with a Hyperphase Sword and a Dispersion Shield. A Hyperphase Sword is a sword outfitted with a molecular agitator that "excites" the constituent molecules of the blade, allowing it to oscillate between quantum states and cutting through almost any material easily. Its destructive capabilities are comparable to the other races' much cruder Power Weapons.

The Lychguard use their Dispersion Shield and block incoming projectiles and explosives. But not just that, they move the shield and deflect the incoming firepower back to the Krorks approaching. As the massive horde approaches, the Lychguard swing their Hyperphase Swords through the air with precision. They block an attack and move in to slice through the gigantic leg of a Krork.

*Roar*

"Tiny metal men, hurt!!!"

The Krork roars in excitement and grabs the Lychguard, attempting to rip it in half. This action, however, allows the Necron to get access to more vital areas of the Krork now and cuts through the Krork's armour and slices off his massive hand. Before the Lychgaurd can finish the Krork off, though, the Krork explodes in an enormous ball of fire, as the self-destruct mechanism of his suit goes off.

Meanwhile, the Necron Lord must constantly keep both of the brawling giants in his field of vision and calculate their trajectories and attack paths, so as not to get involved in their fight. They seem to have forgotten about him and are now just attacking each other. But that's not quite correct. They still remember their original goal here and use every chance they get when the other is away for a moment to block the Necron Lord's attacks and try to finish him off.

The Necron Lord orders a few Destroyers to attack the two Krorks. However, he only receives a response from one, as all the others are rather busy at the moment. The Destroyer fires his massive Gauss cannon at the Krorks, gaining their attention and finally separating. Nargrunt shoots towards the Destroyer, managing to damage him significantly as he rushes forward. Skarzot fires hundreds of rockets towards the Necron Lord from a compartment on his shoulder. The two Nobz reach their respective Necrons at different moments, and while Skarzot has to deal with a Necron Lord, both of them cut through the Necrons simultaneously.

*BOOOM*

"I was first!" Nargrunt roars.

"NO! I was first!" Skarzot roars back.

"No, ME!"

*BOOM*

"ME!"

*BOOM*

The Necron Overlord swings his Warscythe towards Azkull. Thanks to its entropic field generator, it cuts through all types of armour, including heavy energy fields, by disrupting them and cutting what lies underneath. The Phase Blade, whose edge is out of phase with normal space-time continuum, can slip effortlessly through even the heaviest forms of armour. But the Necron Overlord has to get close to Azkull to do that. Naturally, with a Krork, that isn't very hard, since you are close to them very early on, their sizes are just that ridiculous. But Azkull is so agile and fast that he would give even the fastest Aeldari a run for their money, and he is growing as the war goes on.

Azkull aims his weapons at the Overlord and dodges out of the way of the powerful energy beams and Gauss cannons cutting through the air towards him. His large size makes him an easy target, and only thanks to his unbelievable physical prowess can he keep up with everything. He swings his Power Gauntlet towards the Overlord. His fist connects and smashes the Overlord's powerful necrodermis body to the ground, almost folding him into a thin sheet. To finish the Overlord off, Azkull raises his ginormous Power Sword and swings it down, but something impressive happens.

Tiny, spider-like Nanoscarabs swarm over the Necron Overlord's body. The broken parts are suddenly rebuilt, and a few moments later, the Overlord is back on his feet... just in time to see the incoming Power Sword slice him in half.

*VROOOOM*
